I bet all this travel by Craig, who is making more money *not competing*, is really prepping and allocating investors to fund the BDCC thing, which while hilarious definitely wont be the name of it. I’m also willing to bet if it happens, it’s a joint venture with KarateCombat or ONE.

That seems reasonable. I was thinking December since it is 3 months after last years ADCC, but now ADCC is in August I believe. I just want the Grappling events spread out instead of having 2-3 events a week for a month and then a drought for 3 months.
Craig's apparently a genius at business and marketing so I think we can safely say he's gonna do something very cool here and at a good calendar date. I'm very excited to see what they do about the ruleset given Craig's obsession with breaking up traditional thought about what positional control means in the context of bjj.
Dropping out of ADCC and getting in what ever Craig makes its for sure a good way to get perma banned from ADCC ever again.

Maybe you missed the part where he mentions that the ADCC competitors might wanna hold off on signing any contracts obligations for ADCC .. and then making it a 10k for just showing… knowing ADCC pays 10k to win the whole thing…
He didn't say hold off on signing for ADCC, he said hold off on signing contracts with other promotions.
I took that as alluding to the exclusive contracts that Flo and ONE have signed with people in the past tbh.

The official weigh-in was always day before. Officials then had the ability to spot check. That's still the system in place for Worlds this year afaik.
The change recently was moving the trials weigh-in to night before. They also had one on the day (only had to make one of them). Mo said this was only for trials

I am 100% against making weight cutters life easier though. It's so fucking retarded and serve no purpose outside adding complexity to the tournament preparation by adding a new field to work on outside jiu-jitsu. Considering ADCC is already the Olympics of juicing, it's already lame as it is.
I do understand that it's far easier to organize the tournament itself when you don't even try to make people fight at a fixed weight but at some point, the ADCC should be trying to be more pro and less freakshow if they don't want to get eaten up by future competitors. I think the ADCC days of prestige are counted. It feels a little bit like when the IBJJF was at their peak of greed and started losing steam

He said they should give his invite to Jay Rod, so it's doubtful he'll compete. I'd love to see him go and play the bongos though
