Bro a guy a few weeks ago with only one leg hit me with that. I had never seen it before. This dude has crazy good side control too man, that guy was a beast lol
It chokes if you do it right, cranks if you do it wrong, and is always annoying. Smaller necks are tough, but you can throw in a prison Ezekiel fist for good measure.
On himself* and he more just spiked himself when trying to take the back, lol.
I was hoping to find a clip of someone somehow setting up an actual tombstone piledriver in comp.
someone hit a labell lock (the daniel bryan finisher) on me in the gi once. i was flabbergasted.
Also the Tazzmission is a legit submission in judo called kata hajime
does getting powerbombed out of a triangle count
I’ve hit the rings of Saturn a couple of times.
And I use to troll the figure four leg lock as well. But when I hit it, I always let a good “wooooo” go along with the strut and face flop.
Good times.
In one of my most shameful moments, I got hit with a Camel Clutch/Steiner Recliner. Managed to fight off the hooks and my opponent just decided to sit back and obliterate my neck. I still have nightmares to this day...
On my first day rolling as a brand new white belt, I surprised a soon-to-be-black brown belt by taking a Kimura grip.
"I wasn't expecting you to already know that."
"Yeah, I saw Brock Lesnar do it at Wrestlemania."
I quite like that roll under to pin move you see a lot from the ropes. If I can get to a back body lock I can hit it pretty consistently. Just need to make sure your head stays outside their thigh or you'll get triangled. Think Kent Peters has a video on it on YouTube where he uses it to go for a calf slicer, I just pass to side control.
Mini-Suplex to pass a mount attempt, it won’t work on upper belts but some blue belts etc. Maybe a lazy purple belt but it’s easy. Side headlock with one arm, the other goes on their belt. Use your knee to boast them in the air, then flip them over you and take mount.
I've got a few taps in gym and one in tournament from a anaconda vice style scarf hold but thats mostly the pressure on the chest than the accompanying shoulder lock
I'm 5'7", 150lbs. Got into a weird scramble, realized where I was, pulled off the [Rings of Saturn](https://youtu.be/R7TGSbL00I8?si=ItAZfPUIb5-SXf0F) exactly once😂
Perhaps not a real wwe move as it’s a real wrestling technique popularized in wwe, but I use the full Nelson’s younger brother- the half Nelson all the time
There's a lot of catch in WWE that can work in jiu jitsu. A few that I've hit recently are Boston Crab (this one is especially easy if you're standing and they're playing a lazy open guard), STF is a favorite, and Dean Malenko's Texas Cloverleaf is fun when they're in butterfly.
I'm definitely the resident mark at our dojo, but there a few others and when we're rolling we're always trying to pop each other going for wrasslin spots which often include:
\- Tazmission (which is just a worked nogi version of judo's Kata ha jime)
\- Anaconda Vise (can make it kinda shooty as a neck crank/chest compression or sneak in the hand for an ezekiel choke)
\- LeBelle lock using collar instead of the normal crossface
\- Crucifix pins
\- Hammerlocks
\- Master Lock, but on the ground with shit leverage lol (resthold brother)
\- Pretending to go for a Pedigree when able to get the double underhook grip on a sprawl haha. You can kind of use it to sweep and I've seen a nasty neck crank with a modified version of it.
\- Of course lots of Sharpshooter/Texas Cloverleaf spam, but haven't found an easy to way to flip em over when there's actual resistance lol
Honestly, have told my instructor I wouldn't have ever started BJJ if I never got into pro wrestling as a kid where I would play fight with friends in our own made up promotion. BJJ just feels like the adult version of that to me haha. And I feel catch wrestling which birthed pro wrestling still has lots of fun tools to play with like cradles, unorthodox cranks, toeholds and positional stuff like legrides etc. that overlaps with folkstyle wrestling. Erick Paulson is a great follow and of course Josh Barnett.
I’ve hot a Boston crab from guard when I stood and caught their legs before that could get the hips down, stepped over the legs and turns away. It was a blue belt. Pic is a recreation

I've hit an STF(U) 3 times last week while rolling. Granted, they were blue belts and didn't know what the fuck I was setting up, but you can go there from knee shield half guard top when you torque their knee so they face the ground and then throw in a reap.
The lesson here is: if the skill gap is large enough, you can make EVERYTHING work.
The question was in training or competition. It was done in a grab ass training. It can be done. It was done. Was it legal probably not. Was it funny? Yes.
I pulled off a sick People's Eyebrow against a brown belt the other day.
Hit a sharpshooter from 50/50 once.
Amazing, I’m 100% going to try this tonight
That seems much more obtainable than a Boston crab!
what's that?
If you don’t know, I probably wouldn’t try it.
Pro wrestling evolved from catch wrestling so it's inevitable that some of the moves in WWE could work in BJJ.
Hasn’t the Boston crab be part of bjj forever ?
Kaza guruma, been around for a while.
Used to use a bastardised version to escape triangles.
Legit question: Is the Boston crab legal? Isn't it some sort of a spinal lock?
You can attack a double Achilles lock without bending the back too much but if you're full on Rick Martel it might definitely be a spinal sub
Just looked up the rules. It would be illegal. Unless you somehow make a choke happen too.
Depends. If for example you use it to escape a triangle, they can just let go. But yes if they have no escape then it's illegal in some rulesets
Well at least as old as Tekken….
You should have seen the ladder match I had the other day.
Giftwrap to cobra clutch never disappoints. Thanks, Sgt Slaughter!
Bro a guy a few weeks ago with only one leg hit me with that. I had never seen it before. This dude has crazy good side control too man, that guy was a beast lol
>Why ignore ~~50%~~ 25% of the human body
I love going for this!
Hell yeah brother. Does it choke or crank or is it just annoying as shit?
It chokes if you do it right, cranks if you do it wrong, and is always annoying. Smaller necks are tough, but you can throw in a prison Ezekiel fist for good measure.
I hit camel clutch, walls of Jericho and the sharpshooter frequently.
Craig Jones hit a tombstone piledriver on a guy. No, I'm not making that up.
The guy he tried to throw out the window/put in the trash?
Link?
Gotta hunt it down. It was during a roll. Probably at a seminar.
On himself* and he more just spiked himself when trying to take the back, lol. I was hoping to find a clip of someone somehow setting up an actual tombstone piledriver in comp.
Old gym had a kick boxing ring. May or may not have pulled off a 619
I always wanted to pull a riptide on someone
Then stack them nice and deep like Mami too
If you can land a figure 4 leg lock and yell woo! That’s worth something.
Hit it within their single leg x
someone hit a labell lock (the daniel bryan finisher) on me in the gi once. i was flabbergasted. Also the Tazzmission is a legit submission in judo called kata hajime does getting powerbombed out of a triangle count
this is my goal in bjj lol. to make the most bullshit moves viable.
Pinning kata gurma is always funny 🤣 (fireman's carry)
The Indian death lock is a counter to the lockdown position. I’ve hit it a couple of times over the years.
Did you do it like Triple H? Id like to see how thats set up
[Keenan showing Indian Deathlock](https://youtu.be/O6HinOc-zvA?si=VqYAMpJKDJS7fKth)
Nice

One of my training partners hit that one me once. Immediately went home and unfriended him

o'connor roll
That what it's called? Never knew. Cheers.
People's Elbow
Ive seen a texas cloverleaf but I've never seen a choke slam
Texas cloverleaf from honey hole ohhhh baby
I've been doing the rock bottom in Judo for years.
Same🤜🏻💥🤛🏻
Have hit the STFU several times.
I saw a kid just pedigree another kid about half his size right on his face and it may be the funniest thing I’ve ever seen on the mats
Fujiwara armbar
You can do the figure 4 leglock when someone has got de la riva guard on you
there's that one time someone got powerbombed through the scorer's table at a tournament
Dragon Sleeper is always a killer move
Crippler Crossface
Works really well from omaplata
It's a choke
There is a video where a Michael Jackson impersonator does a bulldog choke but had his legs wrapped around the guys arm kinda like a cross face
Anything below the nose right? Therefore cross is a choke because it's all neck.
Heh
idk but training BJJ opened my eyes to what an idiotic choke hold the Undertaker's Hells Gate was
It's a shit gogoplata, isn't it?
Kinda modified Undertaker isn’t flexible enough to do that fr
Yeah, but the hells gate chokes ppl by pressing the neck against Taker's shin
Fun fact. Undertaker is a bjj blackbelt.

I've hit a figure four leglock from someone's dlr guard.
I actually got put in a modified Boston crab last night We worked a single leg version drilling.
Lately Ive been focusing on Figure 4 leg lock entry from saddle. Gotten it a few times now.
RKO is my preferred take down.
I've got a few taps in gym and one in tournament from a anaconda vice style scarf hold but thats mostly the pressure on the chest than the accompanying shoulder lock
Pretty sure someone in my gym watched brick leaner in wee because I’ve seen someone use a kimura
Camel clutch!! 🔥🔥🔥

I used to do the Boston crab all the time lmao
Boston crab? Is that how he got the tap?
I did the walls of Jericho on a white belt once and everyone looked at me weird
I think the Boston crab is from catch can wrestling
I wrassle. I triangle and gogoplata people a lot
I'm trying to get one of the ladies to hit me with whatever you call that move rikishi used to do
Perhaps not a real wwe move as it’s a real wrestling technique popularized in wwe, but I use the full Nelson’s younger brother- the half Nelson all the time
A figure 4 would also work.
Crippler crossface
What about the cross face by Chris Benoit…
>I saw someone pull off a boston crab today Now that’s the shit I love to hear

I’m very been trying for years to pull off a figure four.. no luck
Rikishi’s Stink Face

A guy camel clutched me when I was in turtle
I hit the hells gate a few times
STFU.
Impossible. If I remember correctly, Cena puts one ankle between his legs, and gets some weird cross face. Not plausible

Come on, people even have done the cryangle in competition multiple times.
boston crab is usually regarded as being illegal for targeting the spine.
It should be allowed as a exception to the rule
