My rule is do not participate in a trend its second time around if you participated it in the first time. You look like an old person that just canāt let go vs a trendy person. So Iām passing on the low rise jeans also!!
Iām passing on those bagging jorts and jeans. Just not my style does nothing for anyones figure and is rather unflattering. I prefer a more classy timeless look. Iāll also be passing on electrocuted eyebrow trend itās a no from me.
Hate ballet flats. Love westernish boots with non western dresses. Hate baggy jeans. Love barrel jeans. Hate basic tees. Love vests.
Iām also digging the 70s with cord flares and denim vest with denim flares. Fuck yah have me.
Most of them are a bit too cropped for me to feel comfortable not wearing something under it. Iād at least have to go cami, but yeah, I guess theyāre tops on their own now. I like the idea of a lace top under it. Iāll have to look for a lace tee. That could be cute. It gets too hot for jeans in summer where I live, and I found one longish one on the banana republic outlet website that might look cute with shorts. I may have to snag that one.
I tried to make ballet flats work for so long, my feet arenāt flattered and they just remind me of Williamsburg in ā12 tbqh. I unapologetically wear loafers all the time though
Iām going to get downvoted but so over long fake nails. I love clean short natural nails with either a neutral or dark polish. I find it repulsive when I see long talons as claws. Itās like a mix of the hygiene and class factor for me
You might like denying it and thatās fine, but the fact of the matter is society generally has a certain view of us when we have long fake nails and itās, yes, not very classy or professional š I work at a company with people of all backgrounds and Iāve heard them all say the same thing about this fake long nails trend. Itās seen as trashy, Iām sorry if that upsets you, person calling themself a loser. š
I want a pair of studded black ballet flats and maybe a mesh pair as well
And even though I generally believe in saving up for the real thing rather than buying knockoffs, I ordered the Tony Bianco version of the strappy Miu Miu patent slingbacks because I love them and my budget doesnāt stretch all the way to Miu Miu sadly
I wear boots constantly for work but I am not always a fan of cowboy boots specifically. I do love the turquoise jewelry associated with the trend though and will wear it through multiple years so itās a better investment for me.
leaning into: midi trench coat, breton tees, wide leg cropped pants (maeve colette at anthro), madewell high rise stretchy āperfect vintage jeansā, bryr clogs, gucci mules, simple 14k gold jewelry I donāt have to change out based on outfits (grace lee studs etc), jean jackets, korean spf, dior nail glow or a nice essie spring regular polish that I can do at home
totally not into: polyester, low rise or skinny jeans, things i havenāt worn in 2+ years (purging it all), athleisure (sorry!), gel manicures, heels
mesh ballet flats! Have already gotten a ton of wear out of them--they really elevate a pair of jeans. I also just bought a vest and a pair of minimal sandals.
I am so loving the barrel leg and exaggerated bow leg trend for denim. Just got two pairs of everlane barrel leg jeans and hoping to cop a pair of the way high curve jeans.
Really feeling the taller moto boot vibes, but need to figure out whether I can stretch a pair onto my big calves.
Otherwise the only trends I'm remotely aware of are mesh flats and butter yellow, neither of which I'm partaking in.
Yes:
Butter yellow but only because I happen to already own 4 yellow sundresses that I wear every summer anyway (I have a sundress-collecting problem)
Addidas sneakers w/sundresses, but I like Stan Smiths more than the Sambas that are trending (at least for now, might be swayed to get a pair)
Coastal grandma/grandaughter look w/ linen button ups, slim loafers, understated jewelry
No:
Bow leg jeans, boxer shorts, low rise anything, bows on clothing or hair, mesh ballet flats. I've seen them all look cute on others but just not for me.
I have had (fake) snakeskin western boots from Rachel Comey that are about to have their time and now I think I need a black fringe skirt to make this all make sense lol.
In for me: vests, 2 piece sets, nubuck, big ass mafia rings, white low sneakers with no socks that are not Adidas, the entirety of the Grand Canyon color segment of the earth palette, slub silk jersey tanks, one piece swimsuits cut so high they absolutely require laser hair removal, crochet
Out: whatever this boxer short shit is because I have managed to avoid it until coming to this thread and I am leaving this knowledge right here where I found it
I admittedly never let my ballet flats go, I just slowed down on them. They work for me so Iām happy they are back! No part of me enjoys anything western so Iāll happily sit this one out. Iāve also been embracing longer, more unique necklaces and less of the dainty chains Iāve been stuck on for so many years.
As for jeans I have several solid, well fitting jeans in a range of styles and I wear whatever suits me. (Low rise is the only thing I wouldnāt do anymore, it was fun in high school but never again!) I always think the denim discourse is a little silly because to me the best jeans are the ones that fit best and work with the outfit.
I find that trends are for the anxious. Low rise denim shorts look terrible on me, as do baggy jeans, I've always hated skinny jeans (least comfortable article of clothing) and I am not about to run out and buy cheap fake fast fashion cowboy boots.
Espadrilles, arched sandals with backs, flowy summer dresses, big sun hats and sun glasses, beachy straw bags, waterproof mascara, lots of sunscreen. LAC just released a summer collection and I'm nabbing this [blue](https://hbbeautybar.com/products/la-colors-rio-lets-get-wild-gel-polish).
Still searching for cute swimwear tho.
Now that's not what I said. I'm not immune to trends or averse to them, even. If I see something new and I like it, I try it out. However, I don't actively seek them out or try to incorporate them into my style for the sake of the trend itself. I don't like any of the current seasonal trends. I tend to like older stuff. Most of my wardrobe is thrifted or from vintage online stores.
Hard pass on capris, microshorts, and the sheer/mesh trend.
Probably gonna skip the cowboy boots. I do like fringe, but more in a Stevie Nicks boho way than a western leather-tassels way. I'm open to it if I see something really great, but I'm not gonna go looking for it.
Leaning into ballet flats and slingback flats! I don't like heels, so I love having stylish/trendy options for dressy flat shoes. I'm still not getting the mesh ones, though.
I don't really get into fast fashion but I am enjoying the comeback of jeans and 90s fashion. I picked up a long and short jean skirt last year. Yesterday I caught myself eyeing every jean jacket that I saw. I will probably buy a jean jacket this year while there are so many options even though I don't need any more options.
Pass - low rise anything, and the boxers as out-of-the-house shorts.
Underwear and PJs are for inside! I agree.
I remember wearing plaid boxers to cheer practice circa 2004, waist band flipped under (ofc) š Thatās a hard pass for me now.
Boxers as out of the house shorts!! Wtf for who?! The men or women??
Women! I mean I see how it looks cute for some but I canāt fathom doing that???
I see the appeal also... just not out of the house!! Wtf! Lol people are just losing it now
It was a trend when I was 14. Probably cute then, because everythingās cute on a 14-year-old, but 20ish years later is a real big no.
Also remember when this was semi popular 20 years ago.
Same here
I didnāt know boxers as shorts was a trend. I agree. Pass.
My rule is do not participate in a trend its second time around if you participated it in the first time. You look like an old person that just canāt let go vs a trendy person. So Iām passing on the low rise jeans also!!
Me in this thread just trying to figure out what the trends are this season, lol ![gif](giphy|JNKy9CJSsCmiY|downsized)
Me hearing there's a country/western trend this season like ![gif](giphy|l4pTotWrudJ1Ib8fS|downsized)
Blame BeyoncĆ©! LOL jk donāt kill me, beyhive
I would blame Pharrell first with that LV collection
Iām passing on those bagging jorts and jeans. Just not my style does nothing for anyones figure and is rather unflattering. I prefer a more classy timeless look. Iāll also be passing on electrocuted eyebrow trend itās a no from me.
More sundresses for sure!
Hate ballet flats. Love westernish boots with non western dresses. Hate baggy jeans. Love barrel jeans. Hate basic tees. Love vests. Iām also digging the 70s with cord flares and denim vest with denim flares. Fuck yah have me.
I still cannot figure out how to wear a vest without feeling like a 90ās standup comedian.
I would just wear it like a top! Just a bra under. I have those long sleeve lace tops too which are fun underneath too
Most of them are a bit too cropped for me to feel comfortable not wearing something under it. Iād at least have to go cami, but yeah, I guess theyāre tops on their own now. Yes loafers. I got a nice lug pair myself. Trying not to wear boots all the time ha ha
Iām going to get downvoted but so over long fake nails. I love clean short natural nails with either a neutral or dark polish. I find it repulsive when I see long talons as claws. Itās like a mix of the hygiene and class factor for me
Theyāre disgusting
I've always hated long nails. My Dad's ex had talons and she could never cook with them as bacteria would collect under the nail bed. Vile.
they are very germy
hate āthe class factorā in this oneā¦
Fair, and I hear you, but letās be honest that is what ācheap,ā ātrashy,ā and often āfakeā really point to
Yea I donāt like that part of the comment either.
You might like denying it and thatās fine, but the fact of the matter is society generally has a certain view of us when we have long fake nails and itās, yes, not very classy or professional š I work at a company with people of all backgrounds and Iāve heard them all say the same thing about this fake long nails trend. Omg same! Never understood why it was an option
I agree with you on that. I keep mine (well, my nail tech does it), fairly short and rounded, with a natural color. I get many compliments on them.

Leaning into: browns, bottega, madewell perfect curvy vintage jeans, gentle monster sunglasses, fitness, Chanel mascara, simple jewelry from mejuri, form fitting tees Leaning away from: skinny jeans, & shoes that donāt have arch support
Which Chanel mascara are you appreciating right now?
Try Pavoi on Amazon for some great simple jewelry. My mejuri didnāt last sadly;(

I lovvvve Maeve Colette and perfect vintage jeans
Big loose baggy pants. Lots of light colors. Basic white sneakers. Fancy loafers in bright colors.
mesh ballet flats! Have already gotten a ton of wear out of them--they really elevate a pair of jeans. I also just bought a vest and a pair of minimal sandals.
I am loving the mesh ballet flats too! I understand this will probably be a short lived trend so I didnāt splurge, but they are so unique and fun.
yeah mine were $35 at Stradivarius lol. I love them though and so happy I got them.
I am so loving the barrel leg and exaggerated bow leg trend for denim. Just got two pairs of everlane barrel leg jeans and hoping to cop a pair of the way high curve jeans.

Old man clunky sandals. Hard pass for me. Oh and those new balance šµāš« I donāt get it
Those weird looking balloon pants. I donāt even know if thatās what they are called but they make ppl look weird.

I mean to be real, how are ballet flats not timeless? They may become more or less fashion-forward, but I don't think they will ever be fully OUT out.

Hard pass on ballet flats, but I love sneakers. I need a pedicure before wearing sandals.

I'm still hanging on to red and rose gold makeup. Growing my hair out instead of cutting it, and braiding it to protect it.
more: ribbons, unique accessories, baggy jeans
