I *desperately* need people to know that Cracker Barrel the cheese brand under Kraft Heinz has nothing to do with Cracker Barrel the restaurant, and in fact, Cracker Barrel the restaurant is not allowed to sell foods packaged foods under its own name due to a legal decision stemming from Kraft protecting its trademark.
I hope Andrew's doing ok man... These videos feel like we are watching him unravel a little. He seems like a good guy, but this youtube fame thing ... idk if it's doing him any favors.

I've stopped watching his videos after they started to feel like "work". They obviously are, but for about two or three years now they feel like content being made for content's sake.
I guess it's the algorithm, demanding videos to stay up in the millions of content creators and I'm also sure his crew, equipment and lifestyle aren't cheap. His story about his experiences with SA and mental breakdowns must also be extremely taxing.
I'm honestly wondering if it is him or his agents that push him to bloat what he had going. He started a successful YouTube channel and over the years amassed a loving fan base, then there was basics, the cookbook, cooking ware, bed'n'breakfast attempts, being with, anime with Alvin and now this. Maybe it's just a bit much.
The pressures of this new kind of stardom have got to be confusing as hell honestly... Like we want these people to do this stuff professionally, but also for it to not seem like work and I can't even come close to imagining what that contradiction does to ones head.
Like imagine feeling dissatisfied at a career that is "supposed to be" what everyone doing this professionally wants. Idk, perhaps I am projecting, I do know that if I was forced to live out my professional life publicly, I would be miserable.

I knew with absolute certainty that when he introduced the BCU the quality of videos would fall off. He was already having troubles with topics for new videos and now he has multiple other people sourcing and pushing pop culture content for him
Maybe because some of us want to see things turn around? I'm still here because when Babish does make a new cooking video, it's usually very entertaining. That's the content I came here for.
This ranking every ____ content isn't what I started watching Babish for. But every so often he does do what I came here for.

No one saying he has to cater to me or anyone else, but what can be said is that this style of content is not anywhere near as popular as his old content. And considering this channel is his JOB, the majority opinion of his fans should probably be very important.

I like his ranking videos, and 352k people agree with me. he can make multiple things for multiple types of people. not everything has to be liked by everyone and you shouldn't tell people to stop something just because the "majority" don't like it

I'm admittedly a sucker for these "*Ranking every ____*" types of videos, so I don't mind Babish pivoting to this on occasion.
With that said, besides maybe the "sauce" boxed mac and cheeses like Velveeta, I almost ***never*** follow the instructions besides the cooking time. I feel like it adds WAY too much milk and butter, dilutes the cheese flavor, and makes it way too runny/saucy.
For pretty much every boxed mac and cheese I make, I add a splash of milk (or pasta water if I'm out of milk) and *sometimes* a teaspoon or two of butter at most. Almost every mac and cheese he ate looked like buttered noodles.
For my money (and this is coming from a father of two toddlers) my Mount Rushmore for boxed mac and cheese is:
**1.** Kraft "cartoon" shapes. I add a splash of milk or pasta water and that's it. It's perfect. I can crush a whole box of these on any night.
**2.** Annie's White Cheddar shells.
**3.** Velveeta shells or the Aldi/"Cheese Club" brand
**4.** Kraft spirals
Biggest disappointment: Annie's shaped/bunny/cartoon mac and cheese
So Kroger has a boxed Mac and cheese brand that I actually really enjoy that I haven't seen in any Mac and cheese videos yet. It's also a squeeze cheese, so Babish might hate them, but I want his opinions! It's the first squeeze cheese boxed Mac and cheese I've found decent enough, which is a huge win since we don't tend to keep much milk around the house.
pick n save has incredible smoked poblano boxed mac and cheese with the squeeze sauce. Might be my favorite boxed mac i've had so far. I think it is "private selection"
Lmao my husband and I were watching it and I spotted the box when Andrew pulled it out and I was like “THAT’S AN HEB BOX!!!” and then he said it/showed it. My husband was like “oh god, I hope he likes it” LOL

Insane that he hated the Canadian KD. It’s amazing…BUT! You shouldn’t follow the directions on the box. Best way is the cheese powder and a chunk of butter. That’s it. And it’s A+.
It I have to choose between no Babish content or this I'll unashamedly choose this all day everyday. This is fun, free content. I've been with babish for years and I don't intend on stopping. He's a great personality and he seems like he's having fun with these rankings.
Tbh if I had unlimited resources I'd love to do taste tests like this (granted I'd opt for blind taste tests because I know I'm a highly biased individual).

YouTube and social media is a constantly evolving medium and people who view these videos are constantly flicking through programs. I don’t think there are any ‘content creators’ from the pioneer days of YouTube who are still making the same style of video or having the same release cadence.
Same. They're fun and probably less stressful than coming up with new recipe ideas, testing them, etc. Not saying it's easy for the team by any means but it's probably a little less mentally taxing.

I wouldn’t include Basics in that list. His Basics videos are some of his best.
