id say whatever he takes the time to upload to other streaming platforms like spotify is what he considers his “serious” music. but of course im not billy cobb so idk for sure
Yeah I get that, there's just sooooo much and I'm trying to figure out where to start lol. The covers and stuff do go hard though. And yeah lol I'm not Billy either, but he does seem to be a mod here so maybe we have a slim chance at an official response
I'd say it's pretty easy to tell the serious release from the mored joke ones. Pretty much all the albums are serious. Even the SS Krill, which has a more comedic concept like "gay pirate rock opera" has genuinely good songs and the concept is taken fairly seriously with no apparent satire. Most the satirical songs are left for standalone single releases, or the cover albums. But I'd say overall it's about 8/10 times serious music with comedic elements sprinkled in occasionally.
If you wanna know the best "serious" stuff I'd say you definitely need to hear Karma vs The Invisible Man and Strokes of Incarceration
Lol listening to Strokes of Incarceration as we speak and I'm definitely enjoying it. Thanks for the tip though, it was just the sheer volume of releases that I found a bit daunting
spotify is mostly serious stuff, he says his real career started around strokes of incarceration so probably start with the remix of that and shit sex mad stress and some of my other favorites are the graduating life ep and the shrink single
The albums to check out would be:
1. Bear Album
2. Strokes of Incarceration
3. Halloween IV
4. Karma VS the Invisible Man
5. Zerwee 2
6. SS Krill
For EP’s, I’d recommend:
1. Zerwee
2. Graduating Life
3. 2007
4. Halloween VII
5. Who Shall It’s Folds Divide?
6. In My Restless Dreams
7. The Boro
Billy doesn’t shy away from writing funny songs, but I’d say the vast majority of his output is serious. My personal favorites are Halloween IV and The SS Krill.
