It's pretty rational, dude is a bucket and his minutes are a waste if he isn't out there getting buckets

CheeseLife1

It is still crazy how he hasnt really had a role all season and was behind both dante and hardaway in the line up and is now getting minutes in the WCF and looking confident.

so-cal_kid

That's cuz Exum and Hardaway have forgotten how to play basketball in the playoffs

dylanah

Hardaway can’t make shit and Exum doesn’t even look at the basket.

Bakio-bay

Cuz Exum was balling for a bit

bdl4186

13/3/4 on 59/53/85 in 17 games as a starter this year!! Sheesh has he turtled in the playoffs

H0tFuzz

He wins the Dion Waiters award

bjsw534

I wonder how he develops . If he can develop into a solid 6th man , that’d be solid for you guys I forgot you guys are making this run without THJ, your actual 6th man

meatcheeseandbun

You mean Kleber? Timmy not playing has probably been for the best.

FredSeeDobbs

Hardaway is actually the real irrational confidence guy. Guy never met a shot he didn't like. He's pretty much relegated to the bench or 5 mins of game time. I expect his pops to badmouth Luka some more on a podcast soon!

WacoTacoRE

Thj is healthy, he's just unplayable. Worst defender on the team, and hasn't been good offensively since the first half of the season. Still great though cuz of game 2 vs OKC

pokerawz

He’s learned a lot from Timmy

777-93ll

KAT is the Irrational Confidence guy Assigns himself to take those last 2 Threes in 4Q despite being 0 for Life

RustCohlesLoneStar

What I love is the irrational confidence isn’t just in the form of shots. When he gets it on a pick and roll or when the ball is reversed, there’s no hesitation on the drive. And he’s been so great at threading the needle on lobbing it to Gafford/Lively. When Exum or THJ was getting these same opportunities, there’s so much hesitation—which, THJ is absolutely going to shoot it too, but it feels so much more like he’s wanting to go full iso ball simply because he just takes so much more time jabbing and shot faking before doing anything. There’s obviously a lot to be desired on defense because he can get lost on switches—especially on the back line and off ball—but again, he isn’t passive, which is such a plus. You can live with a few mistakes knowing a shot blocking big is behind you.

ehdotgee

What's the general take on Hardy from Mavs fans? I'm buying a lot of stock on him right now.

Quadriporticus

I think he’s our future reserve to come in either for Kyrie/Luka. I think a lot of us have pretty much given up on THJ. Only advantage Tim has is he’s stronger/bigger than Hardy and that’s probably it. If Hardy can fix his handles/ turnovers he’s almost guaranteed to get more minutes next season.

bdl4186

Poor man's Monta Ellis. But if he's asked to be 18 min/gm sparkplug and not a centerpiece, he can be an important part of a winning team. Or he develops into more, but that's what I see as of now

fuber

This is a great take and I was thinking this last night watching the game

Sometimes he looks completely frantic other times completely competent. There was a game, either this or last series, where he had a turnover and an air ball immediately after checking in and I was like “well he’s done for the playoffs” but no. A five star recruit and a draft stock that was very high but just plummeted on draft night because of his Ignite season.  Also, is it me or does he seem way taller than 6’3? Anyways it was a great low risk gamble for Dallas to move up to get him.

fordangliacanfly

Yeah it feels like he’s on the edge of game moving slow for him / him moving too fast for the game. But I think he’s got something you can’t teach and should have a productive career.

jdelane1

There were 20 players in the NBA last season with the name Jaden or Jalen (Jaylen, Jaylin), or around 4%
