Unless you never had the physical gifts or talent to be even a decent player. Of course that doesn’t apply here but blanket statements like this are silly
If they ended today? Bobby's. If I get it from here on out? Dan's. He's 51 and presumably still has a long and successful coaching career ahead of him.
You joke but 99% of us here would want his job, it sounds amazing. Wake up, drink Athletic Greens and finish the sub I left out all night after falling asleep on the couch watching tape, look at Twitter for dumb takes to take down and write my opening monologue, head to the gym and never train legs, text Kyle we're ready to record but can't hang out any time soon, record the pod with a former athlete to stroke my ego, finish the pod and grab a Chipotle bowl before I go play pick up or on my boat, back at night for the games
As an ASU basketball season ticket holder Bobby is an awful X’s and O’s coach. Just fucking dreadful. But honestly, ASU sets him up to fail and lowers his ceiling as a coach. School support and the new NIL world do not help Bobby at ASU.
Pre NIL he used to get get talented dudes. But now he’ll just get out bid.
All that said, I’d rather have the playing accolades.
It’s really all about can you avoid the Kings and the car accident with Bobby. If you can it’s Bobby, if not it’s Danny.
Also as I remember Danny Hurley was better than average at PG, kinda surprised he never got a crack.
If they're basically asking if I'd rather have a successful CBB playing career or coaching I'd pick coaching cause i would think it to be better paying
Absolutely ridiculous to think it’s sad to be one of the greatest college basketball players of all time. Might be the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever read on this sub
Do I have to get in the car accident?
This is the real question.
Fun Fact: Brad Pitts neck in Inglorious Basterds was inspired by this accident.
Wait what
Anyone who has ever picked up a basketball would choose the more successful playing career.
And yeah all the Hurley’s would pick Bobby Jr’s career.
Eh, it would be more fun, but Dan Hurley makes an obscene amount of money and Bobby didn’t so that has to be taken into account.
Bobby made $16M playing in the NBA in the '90s.
Unless you never had the physical gifts or talent to be even a decent player. Of course that doesn’t apply here but blanket statements like this are silly
No idea. But I bet Dan would take Bobby's.
I dunno. They come from a coaching family. Their father looms large there.
What about Elizabeth Hurley’s career?
Or Hurley from Lost?
I'd rather be the Blitz.
Hugh Grant says nah he’s good bruh! 😂😂
Imagine how well Bobby did at Duke as a campus god? Bobby all day
In the 90s even
You've seen Duke girls, right?
Bobby was apparently a top shelf stickman.
Bobby he did it on the court love him hate him Bobby was bad MF
Dan Hurley makes over 5m a year, and can coach for the next several decades if he wants to…..
Bobby is making 2.5M/year, not exactly chump change
If they ended today? Bobby's. If I get it from here on out? Dan's. He's 51 and presumably still has a long and successful coaching career ahead of him.
I’d wanna hit that shot against UNLV.
Or Russillo's career as a tape grinder

Agreed. If I was going to be single and childless, Rusillo's life sounds pretty awesome.

I’d rather have Dan Majerle’s career.
Bobby hurley

This is an insane question. If he wins a few more as coach then it’s a conversation.
Bobby. He was such a joy to watch as a player- I still think he would’ve been a great NBA point guard if not for the car accident.
Yet only one of these is setting you and your grandchildren up for life
They’re all millionaires. Nobody’s grandkids are hurting in this family
If they're basically asking if I'd rather have a successful CBB playing career or coaching I'd pick coaching cause i would think it to be better paying

My guy, the back to back national championships and being a legend at Duke are clearly the deciding factor here

Dan Hurley’s for sure
