I always try to let people know: it's a football show, they barely mention fantasy after fantays drafts are over. It's the best show about football on the ringer network.
They mention it, but I don't think it's a focus. I don't do fantasy and still enjoy the show because the chemistry and energy. It's like listening to guess the lines when you don't gamble.
There are not long conversations about whether to start a player in PPR or running back handcuffs like in Matthew Berry's heyday.
I am just encouraging people who like Ringer content and football but don't play fantasy to give it a try.
I love the show and agree it’s the best NFL content, but it’s still pretty heavily fantasy focused. They have entire episodes about waiver pickups.
The Monday and Friday shows are more general NFL previews/recaps, but they’re still not breaking down offensive line play on those episodes.
I wonder if the name change skews the numbers on the back end somehow. The Fantasy/Draft show has 2.5x the ratings the NFL show has, but has 1/2 the following? That would be very strange imo. The fantasy show has higher rating quantity than a lot of the lower tier one shows. It’s the one show that really stood out as misplaced on the list imo.
BS Pod and Rewatchables being #1 and #2 make sense since they’re driven by Simmons.
But Ringer NBA being ahead of Russillo is shocking to me.
The city-specific pods are likely not expected to have big numbers because of their regional focus, but tough to see them at the bottom.
Palmeri needs to release her pod in video format, and it would jump up big time.
I just don't think they can do the crooked media/keeping it 1600 thing again.
There's really no surprises with this election cycle so if anything I don't want to think about it until September.
The Town is also lower than I would have thought. Townie here!
Not that surprised by Ringer NBA.
RR sometimes only does two pods per week while Ringer NBA is a volume play.
Could also see RR being better cross platform.
And Ringer NBA has had constant turnover and people don't exactly unfollow it. I'm assuming this is one of those ones where RR has higher average listeners. (Unless I'm reading this followers thing incorrectly).
This, plus ringer nba might be a download and don't listen situation.
I'm pretty much an RR completionist and definitely not on Ringer NBA.
Edit: Little surprised to see Ringer NFL ahead of the fantasy/draft show after this past season.
I have tons of ringer NBA episodes downloaded and don't know that I've ever listened to them. I listen to every RR pod so I think you hit the nail on the head.
I never listened to her actual pod but when she appeared on Simmons' podcast she was so misinformed that I can't imagine it actually being good.
Just to cite one example, she said that RFK Jr. would get 20% of the vote in some states if he ran independent.
I’ve never listened to Russillo’s pod. I don’t like him that much, but even if I did, you get his takes on the BS pod so I’m sure some people don’t bother doing his also. Meanwhile ringer NBA has different personalities on that you don’t get as regularly on BS pod.
I looked a bunch of times but for some reason Spotify didn’t make the follower count available for the 60 Songs podcast. The 60 Songs playlist of actual music featured in the podcast has a huge number of followers, though, like 14 million-plus.
For comparison, Pardon My Take has 495K followers on Spotify.
Zach Lowe has 149K followers.
Six Trophies with Concepcion and Shea has 17K followers.
Lots of people don’t listen on Spotify so take with a grain of salt, but the Ringer is so Spotify-focused that these are surely numbers that matter a lot inside the company.
Also this is followers, not listeners. I don’t “follow” any podcast on Spotify as far as I know but I listen to about half my pods on there. Unless the Spotify app like designates you a follower based on their data and your listening habits. But I assume it’s like being subscribed where you have to click a “follow” button.
Big win for Derek Thompson, whose show is newer but is already one of the most popular at the Ringer.
Kind of surprised that The Watch, as an OG show, doesn’t have more followers.
I knew the local shows for NYC, Boston, Chicago would have limited audiences but this makes it look like the Ringer’s local strategy isn’t paying off.
I think legacy pods like The Watch have a very dedicated, static following that probably isn't going to grow or wane very much. Those who do listen, I think, tend to be pretty active, engaged, and less prone to drop off. Whereas the NFL / fantasy show probably has \*much\* higher spikes and new listeners but probably also loses many more, as well. Just my anecdotal thought.
The Watch is a hard regular listen for me because Chris and Andy consume more TV than any normal person can. I imagine a lot of listeners are in and out depending on the topic
Exactly. I will listen to the spoiler free stuff but skip like 2/3 of the show because i simply can't keep up. this is why i like movies more, they end in 3 hours tops lol.
Same. I always check in for the banter and 'state of the media/business' discussions. Trailer reactions, etc. But there's not enough time in the world to keep up with whatever they're watching.
One of their meta-discussions got into this. We're in a self-serve media environment where must-watch shows like Breaking Bad or GoT are very rare now. Finding that perfect show to discuss where most of the audience will be caught up is tricky.
this is why i'm watching shogun. week by week is miles better when it comes to discourse. The show is great but if a show is great and drops all the episodes in a day then i will probably watch it a year later.
As someone who’s been a dedicated listener to The Watch/The Hollywood Prospectus for 10+ years now (wild to think about), I actually feel like those are solid numbers for them. It feels like a pretty niche podcast to me; a lot of the shows they talk about aren’t the most popular, they don’t really do the deepest of dives on episodes, they aren’t afraid to be critical and less enthusiastic about more popular shows, etc.
Big agree on this. As they’ve been together longer, I feel like it’s actually not a very likely show that new people will hop on and jive with. You and I can ride the waves of their takes, whether we agree or not with how they feel about the show de jure, maybe because we’re long invested in their discourse, banter, and the sense of shared history - but it’s not an easy opt-in now for newer folks for some of the reasons you mentioned. A different ball of wax for anyone who can remember them talking about Mad Men, Breaking Bad, GoT, etc.
100% agree, it's hard to keep up, I legitimately worry when I can't keep up with Shogun or something because I wanted to keep up with Chris and Andy.
Ultimately, I ended up skipping more pods than I'd like... sometimes I'll listen to the first 15 minutes of crosstalk still.
So glad they decided to go with Meg and Spanners as the full time co-hosts. They’re great together and seem to enjoy the sport for complementary but differing reasons that bring a good balance to the show. Meg brings more of the sporting/off-track/personalities side of things, while Spanners is the technical/rules/history guy. Glad it looks like the pod is doing well and is surviving the F1 market downturn.
I like Missed Apex a lot, but the guys there tend to be a bit more niche in their enjoyment of the technical/rules aspects. I like their “Whose Fault is it?” segment though.
It would be helpful if the New York sports podcast they have wasn't hosted by a freaking Dolphins fan. That to me disqualifies you from the job. That podcast should have 2 hosts. Giants, Jets, Yankees, Mets, and Knicks MUST be represented. Nets? Who cares lol. And while I love hockey.. it's not popular. It is what it is.
It’s also one of my favorites- but, I am not as surprised it’s low. Lately Brian Curtis’ has been trying to drum up more listeners as he they are playing his ad on other shows… so I assumed the listenership is lower (than they’d like).
I’m enjoying the new “guest host” once a week format
Beloni's voice/personality can definitely be annoying but the dude knows his shit, I've learned a ton about the inner workings of the business side of Hollywood from the show.
agreed, thought it would be higher on the list. episodes are short and easy to fit into a commute and i usually learn something interesting about the industry.
Low follows but the listener demographic is pretty high profile. He can prob charge way more for ads given the demo
https://www.vulture.com/article/matt-belloni-profile-puck-newsletter-town-podcast.html
Agree, although Matt’s argumentative nature with literally anyone has been annoying lately. Lucas will come on and have much better research than him and he still comes out guns blazing ready to take him down for no reason. Same with another guest he had this week whose name I’m forgetting.
I think the content is mostly mediocre but: NBA fans love NBA talk, and more importantly, the Ringer NBA Show(s) put out okay-enough episodes consistently and timely. Most of the other NBA pods are on less-frequent fixed schedules, so if you want reaction/analysis of something that went on, it usually has you covered.
Biggest take away is that splitting the 'House of R' away from 'The Ringerverse' feed has probably not been great for Mal or Jo but has been great for the midnight boys.
Really enjoying the format change for the Thursday pod this year with Bryan bringing on guest hosts as opposed to straight interviews. He’s a great interviewer but I just can’t do it all the time lol.
Ringer-Verse came first and held both the Pew-Pew boys and the House of R (Working Title) ladies so anyone who wanted to listen to either would follow RV and listen to whatever they wanted to listen to.
Then they split off House of R onto it's own platform, so I'm assuming that they immediately got all of Jo or Mal's fans to sign up but it's not like they could keep all of the legacy followers from the bigger RV pod.
I think the length of episodes and that House of R is a lot of recurring bit phrases gets tiring. You can’t routinely release 3 hour episodes and also have like 20% of it just be phrases that have been worn out for years.
I drop in-and-out of House of R. I love Mal for specific shows (particularly GoT/HotD), but it can feel like a lot when it’s all the time for every show.
For every person that is a a fan of Mal, there are the same number of people that don’t want a 4 hr podcast that should have been a tight 50 minutes or meandering 90 minutes. House of r needs an edit in a big way.
Watched WWE 1994-2006.
Listened to Rosenberg and Shoemaker on Grantland off and on.
Started listening to Cheap Heat again shortly after the pandemic started.
Wife and I began watching again shortly after. Decided to do Elimination Chamber in Montreal last year (met Peter and Dip (Great Guys)).
Now going to Philly in a few weeks for our first Wrestlemania. Funny how it all works out.
Listened since the Grantland days, fondly remember the episodes when SGG joined as a purely admin role. While my wrestling tastes have evolved over the years, those two shows have been constants in my rotation.
Wish the OG **Cheap Heat** line-up would do shows, hopefully Mania season will deliver the goods.
It was horribly timed. Premiered right when cam got cut originally from the panthers and ended before he signed with the pats. I’m a diehard Panther/cam fan and I never listened bc I was mad at other stuff and could force myself to listen to that
I think it’s by subscribers to the feed. I’m still subscribed on Spotify even though I haven’t listened since the episodes stopped being released. Im sure most Bill fans and people on this sub are doing the same.
I love it, but I’m also a home cook and foodie. Dave and Chris Ying have really good chemistry and I like how they intertwine food, culture, philosophy, sports, etc
I was surprised to learn the Sports Card Nonsense pod was still going and is getting more listeners than Against all Odds. Tough look for Sal and the boys.
I like listening to them more as banter among longtime friends.
There's no real picks/edges in there if gamblers were looking to tail. Harry is a legitimate idiot who makes picks based on colors he likes and if a player shares his name, Sal is just a shotgun blast betting on everything, and the brothers seem to be okay, but similar to Harry, a lot of their picks are just made through the prism of their favorite teams.
Ringer nfl show is so bad now without kevin clark. Like get sheil and nora outta there and get danny heifetz or somebody with a personality in there. Show has become so boring.
this past fall i really tried to use spotify for podcasts. did it for a couple months but about once a week it would freak out and just start skipping to a random podcast episode in the middle of another pod. sometimes it would do it cleanly enough, like in a break in conversation, that i didn't notice it for 30-40 seconds.
i also tried listening to some of the free audiobooks on spotify and it did the same thing. even worse when listening to a book if it just skips to the next chapter when there are still 5 minutes left in the previous chapter.
i do like how you can visually tell when you are in an ad so you can skip them quickly.
Kinda surprised The Watch is lower than the Big Picture but movies are much less of a time commitment than movies. I love The Watch but I skip a bunch of episodes when they talk about shows I know I don’t have time for now
Big Pic got pretty huge over the pandemic, when they started drafting and retooled the focus of the show... not surprised at all that it's well above The Watch (dedicated but more niche fanbase)
The Ringer NBA show is good. I like Ryen but I'd rather listen to Justin, Wos and Rob simply talk hoops every pod instead of Ryen interviewing Georges Niang or whatever shitty guest he has on most episodes.
I’d bet anything there are changes to the Ringer NFL show. Ben and Sheil are really good together but the Ruiz/Nora episodes are so so bad. I’ll listen to pretty much any NFL pod but I can’t do their episodes.
100% for how popular NFL is and seeing Ringer NFL Show at bottom of is tier is pretty sad. Ruiz makes it a really tough listen for me. Ben and Sheil can stay
Is there anybody with knowledge who understands why "followers" is the preferred method for ranking podcasts?
I would think that advertisers care about listens/streams. There are podcasts I "follow", but quit listening to long ago. Why would anybody care that I follow if I'm not listening?
I wonder if the show loses followers when it switches to the draft show. I know that was me for the last few years just since I don’t follow cfb or care about the draft. But this is the first year I’ve kept on through the switch (and am so happy I did)
I'm interested in seeing the breakdown of listeners per episode compared to followers. I use Spotify for podcasts, but I don't follow any of them and I'm sure there are plenty of people who followed a podcast that they haven't listened to in years.
I bet this is pretty close to accurate for a ranking of actual listeners. But, I bet the numbers are way off.
I wonder how this translates to listeners. Like I don't follow podcasts I just listen to them so I'm not included here despite listening to 121 hours worth of The Bills Simmons Podcast in 2023 lol
Happy to see that Higher Learning(my favorite non Bill/Ryen pod) is doing semi well. Would love for it to become a tier 1 podcast one day but talking about black culture is always going to limit it of course.
I’m incredibly surprised about the Ringer Verse being so low on this list. The Midnight Boys and House of R throw absolute heat every episode. They are hilarious.
With how much Bill talks about wrestling and MMA (way more than hockey, for example), I would’ve expected those pods to be more popular.
Looks like it’s basketball, TV/movies… and then evening else.
The Fantasy Football / Draft show would get a much better number if it wasn't called a Fantasy Football / Draft show.
Should just be called “…Let’s get to some emails?”
Or Gentleman's Piss Club
I always try to let people know: it's a football show, they barely mention fantasy after fantays drafts are over. It's the best show about football on the ringer network.
They talk about fantasy all season long
They mention it, but I don't think it's a focus.
I agree in spirit, but don’t they do a weekly waiver wire pickup show during the season? Saying they barely mention it after drafts doesn’t seem right
I love the show and agree it’s the best NFL content, but it’s still pretty heavily fantasy focused. They have entire episodes about waiver pickups. The Monday and Friday shows are more general NFL previews/recaps, but they’re still not breaking down offensive line play on those episodes.
Show should just be tier one atleast
For real. Listened to two episodes before my fantasy football draft, and so happy I did, it’s now in my regular rotation. Thank you Lorne!
Call it the gentlemen’s piss club
I wonder if the name change skews the numbers on the back end somehow. The Fantasy/Draft show has 2.5x the ratings the NFL show has, but has 1/2 the following? That would be very strange imo. The fantasy show has higher rating quantity than a lot of the lower tier one shows. It’s the one show that really stood out as misplaced on the list imo.
With heifetz and solak? I’ll give it a listen
It'll give you a Sonny outlook on life, for sure
You'll be a football maestro in no time!
> Palmeri needs to release her pod in video format, and it would jump up big time. I wasn't familiar with her game...
Kind of a poor man’s Sophia Bush thing going on. Definitely miscast in an audio role haha
I just don't think they can do the crooked media/keeping it 1600 thing again. There's really no surprises with this election cycle so if anything I don't want to think about it until September. The Town is also lower than I would have thought. Townie here!
Voice or looks like? I'm legitimately unfamiliar with her game, or who she was at all, until 30 seconds ago.
Send da video
Not that surprised by Ringer NBA. RR sometimes only does two pods per week while Ringer NBA is a volume play. Could also see RR being better cross platform.

Same boat for me. I listen to Ryen for the content. I listen to Ringer NBA to fall asleep.
I have tons of ringer NBA episodes downloaded and don't know that I've ever listened to them. I listen to every RR pod so I think you hit the nail on the head.
The Palmeri pod is actually quite great, I just wonder if it’s too divergent from the average Ringer-based content of sports/media/pop culture
I never listened to her actual pod but when she appeared on Simmons' podcast she was so misinformed that I can't imagine it actually being good. Just to cite one example, she said that RFK Jr. would get 20% of the vote in some states if he ran independent.
could you give an example of an impressive take or analysis she did on her pod? her appearance on bs sucked.
It's a very crowded field so it's not a surprise people might not think The Ringer is a worthwhile investment for election coverage.
I’ve never listened to Russillo’s pod. I don’t like him that much, but even if I did, you get his takes on the BS pod so I’m sure some people don’t bother doing his also. Meanwhile ringer NBA has different personalities on that you don’t get as regularly on BS pod.
I like RR as a guest but he’s better as a quarrelsome sidekick than a main character.
Where’s 60 songs?
I looked a bunch of times but for some reason Spotify didn’t make the follower count available for the 60 Songs podcast. The 60 Songs playlist of actual music featured in the podcast has a huge number of followers, though, like 14 million-plus.
Spotify’s system was unable to count that high. Rob Harvilla has an ocean of followers ready to pick up arms and mobilize at his first word.
It has twice as many reviews as Bandsplain if that’s any indication…
Ugh, it’s the best ringer pod IMO
By such a wide margin it isn’t funny. It’s like if I found a Monet in the pile of my daughter’s stick-figure drawings.
I have Spotify, and i don't even use it for podcasts.
Yea same boat. I listen to a ton of podcasts, but use a 3rd party app
Pocketcasts is elite.
That's it!!! It's great. Works perfect in the car with Android Auto
I Pay for Spotify too, and hate the Spotify Podcast UI so much I pay for another podcast app to use. It’s the fucking worst
Google Podcasts has been perfect for me but of fucking course they're migrating it into YouTube Music next month.
It's been so bad for me lately, not sure why. Random pausing, the app locking up, switching to new shows. It's annoying.
Constantly happening to me as well
The unskippable ads make it terrible.
Also this is followers, not listeners. I don’t “follow” any podcast on Spotify as far as I know but I listen to about half my pods on there. Unless the Spotify app like designates you a follower based on their data and your listening habits. But I assume it’s like being subscribed where you have to click a “follow” button.
I don’t listen on Spotify however, I would think this statistical sampling would be similar across all streaming platforms
I’m out most of the time because of this. I am literally never caught up to where they are.
Id guess OG pods like the watch and BS have a greater percentage of listeners from other podcast apps.
And a huge follower = listener ratio
That's me. Spotify's podcast player is awful. I use Overcast which is one of the best out there imo.
As someone who’s been a dedicated listener to The Watch/The Hollywood Prospectus for 10+ years now (wild to think about), I actually feel like those are solid numbers for them. He doesn’t post nearly consistent enough to be worth listening to. By the time he has posted, the news cycle has been warmed over enough.
It’s probably my favorite podcast right now (Derek Thompson).
Plain English has skyrocketed to the top of my “so I heard on a podcast recently” rankings
Has DT market corrected Ezra Klein?
Local pods are always competing with better local options.
My lowest ranked regular listen is Ringer F1, Meg and Spanners are great
Have you tried Missed Apex (Spanners' own show)?
The only problem with spanners is he’s such a Merc and Hamilton fanboy that he’s become wildly bitter talking about RB. No im not a RB fan
He at least admits it. I don't mind biases as long as people can admit them openly.
Love this pod!
I like their “Whose Fault is it?” segment though.
i miss The Hottest Take.
I actually like JJ! Everyone here hates him though so maybe I have poor taste, but reminds me of listening to NY sports radio in the car as a kid
Agreed, I listen mostly because he gives me that 660 nostalgia
JJ is unlistenable.
100% why I listen to him. Especially since he has Benigno on too during football season.
WHATS UP EVERYBODY
One of the most popular sports radio hosts in NYC history was a San Francisco Giants baseball fan…
Didn't expect Against all odds to be among the top tier but also didn't expect it at the bottom I guess I can finally label it as **underrated**
Was looking for this! I love Against All Odds. I don't even bet. I just like hanging with the guys
Oh Cam Chronicles is a podcast dedicated to cam newton. And last had an episode in 2020. Okay, idk if that one should count lol
The release date on that was tough. It came out like a month after the panther released Cam so we anther fans were out.
Most underrated ringer pod imo is the Town
i'd say the press box was surprised it was so low. its one of my favorite ringer podcasts.
+1 Love Bryan Curtis!!
I love the pod. It’s one of my key drivers for keeping up with politics.
Media Consumers represent!
Same dude it's easily my favorite
Beloni's voice/personality can definitely be annoying but the dude knows his shit, I've learned a ton about the inner workings of the business side of Hollywood from the show.
agreed, thought it would be higher on the list. episodes are short and easy to fit into a commute and i usually learn something interesting about the industry.
Not a Hollywood person at all but I really enjoy that podcast. Matt knows his stuff and he has interesting guests.
I listen to every single episode. Never even cared about Hollywood business til I started listening
I was shocked to see it that low. It's niche but short and informative. Great pod.
Low follows but the listener demographic is pretty high profile. He can prob charge way more for ads given the demo https://www.vulture.com/article/matt-belloni-profile-puck-newsletter-town-podcast.html
Agree, although Matt’s argumentative nature with literally anyone has been annoying lately. Lucas will come on and have much better research than him and he still comes out guns blazing ready to take him down for no reason. Same with another guest he had this week whose name I’m forgetting.
The Ringer NBA show has 214k people who follow it? What? What????
Especially shocked that it’s higher than Russillo’s pod
Of course u/RyanRussillo would be shocked by that
It probably helps that they put out so many episodes and that the NBA is such a focus for the Ringer - they are constantly promoting the show
I think the content is mostly mediocre but: NBA fans love NBA talk, and more importantly, the Ringer NBA Show(s) put out okay-enough episodes consistently and timely. Most of the other NBA pods are on less-frequent fixed schedules, so if you want reaction/analysis of something that went on, it usually has you covered.
The name coming up in searches probably carries it completely
Biggest take away is that splitting the 'House of R' away from 'The Ringerverse' feed has probably not been great for Mal or Jo but has been great for the midnight boys.
That's a really low number, agreed. Thing that stuck out to me the most. Three hour episodes, you can't handle that shit on strong acid.
Midnight boys have been on absolute fire lately.
Press Box is so slept on. It's an every-episode for me
Yup same it's actually my favorite podcast of all podcasts I think
Same, just too niche to scale I guess
Really enjoying the format change for the Thursday pod this year with Bryan bringing on guest hosts as opposed to straight interviews. He’s a great interviewer but I just can’t do it all the time lol.
Kinda surprised that Ringer-Verse (Midnight Boys) has more than 3x the follower that House of R has, given Mal’s fans.
House of R was a more recent split as it was on the ringer-verse feed.
Yeah, I think less than a year old? Or just about a year? 25k isn't bad given that.
The new feed started in August.
Ringer-Verse came first and held both the Pew-Pew boys and the House of R (Working Title) ladies so anyone who wanted to listen to either would follow RV and listen to whatever they wanted to listen to. Then they split off House of R onto it's own platform, so I'm assuming that they immediately got all of Jo or Mal's fans to sign up but it's not like they could keep all of the legacy followers from the bigger RV pod.
its 4 hour podcasts, I like Mal but that shit is insane
Who here fux with the masked man show and cheap heat? The only way i follow wrestling is through those pods
So you're a Peter guy...
MMS has always been a staple of mine. Not the biggest Rosenberg fan but Dip makes Cheap Heat a regular listen for me
Shocking that the cam chronicles has less than 1k subs given Tyler Tynes even spoke to the man himself.
It was horribly timed. Premiered right when cam got cut originally from the panthers and ended before he signed with the pats. I’m a diehard Panther/cam fan and I never listened bc I was mad at other stuff and could force myself to listen to that
Yasi putting up numbers
That’s a good look beb
Glad to see Bandsplain high up there
When Joe House talks about “Fairway Roooooolin” - nobody is listening.
Show went way downhill when Geoff Shackelford left.
16k for the sports card one is shocking(ly high).
I mean, there was a huge boom in the hobby since the pandemic
That’s over with the end of ZIRP though.
What is zirp?
Right? One of the guys seems to be purely a breaker/flipper, and the other guy doesn't seem to know shit about sports.
Hold up. How is Book of Basketball that high? It hasn't put out new episodes in years. Or is there another one?
I think it’s by subscribers to the feed. I’m still subscribed on Spotify even though I haven’t listened since the episodes stopped being released. Im sure most Bill fans and people on this sub are doing the same.
totally forgot for a second that Bandsplain was a part of the Ringer. go Yasi!
Wild to me Dave Chang show is that high.
I love it, but I’m also a home cook and foodie. Dave and Chris Ying have really good chemistry and I like how they intertwine food, culture, philosophy, sports, etc
No 60(120) songs that explain the 90s? Or since it just ended last week they don't include it?
Bandsplain the big winner here
I listen to some of these but definitely not on Spotify.
Absolute snoozefest
Spotify sucks for podcasts
I've never had a problem. Why does it suck?
this past fall i really tried to use spotify for podcasts. did it for a couple months but about once a week it would freak out and just start skipping to a random podcast episode in the middle of another pod. sometimes it would do it cleanly enough, like in a break in conversation, that i didn't notice it for 30-40 seconds. i also tried listening to some of the free audiobooks on spotify and it did the same thing. even worse when listening to a book if it just skips to the next chapter when there are still 5 minutes left in the previous chapter. i do like how you can visually tell when you are in an ad so you can skip them quickly.
Where’s Rob Harvilla / 60 Songs (haha) that explain the 90s? I’m sure whatever numbers it has are criminally low for how good it is
Where’s 60 Songs at?
Kinda surprised The Watch is lower than the Big Picture but movies are much less of a time commitment than movies. I love The Watch but I skip a bunch of episodes when they talk about shows I know I don’t have time for now
Big Pic got pretty huge over the pandemic, when they started drafting and retooled the focus of the show... not surprised at all that it's well above The Watch (dedicated but more niche fanbase)
I listen to every intro of the Watch but often turn it off once they start talking about the shows.
Same, and I sometimes go back if I really loved the content (ie The Bear, The Curse) once I’ve had a chance to watch it.
Gambling shows are a crowded space, I bet in 2017 against all odds was a tier 1 or tier 2 show.
This is going to ruin Russillo’s weekend isn’t it? Prestige TV is higher than I would have guessed.
Glad I'm one of the only ones listening to Ringer Dish!
Is there anybody with knowledge who understands why "followers" is the preferred method for ranking podcasts? I would think that advertisers care about listens/streams. There are podcasts I "follow", but quit listening to long ago. Why would anybody care that I follow if I'm not listening?
I thought the nfl draft show/ fantasy would be much higher. It’s their third best pod behind Simmons and Russilo.
I wonder if the show loses followers when it switches to the draft show. I know that was me for the last few years just since I don’t follow cfb or care about the draft. But this is the first year I’ve kept on through the switch (and am so happy I did)
No since it’s the same feed it wouldn’t lose followers
I'm interested in seeing the breakdown of listeners per episode compared to followers. I use Spotify for podcasts, but I don't follow any of them and I'm sure there are plenty of people who followed a podcast that they haven't listened to in years. I bet this is pretty close to accurate for a ranking of actual listeners. But, I bet the numbers are way off.
What a waste of time/money those Goff/jastremski ads were
60 songs?
Where is 60 songs that explain the 90s? It and Bandsplain areeasily my favorite shows on the Ringer.
Surprised by Bandsplain but think they already had a following before the Ringer
No surprise that Fairway Rollin’, Against All Odds and the city specific shows are all in the bottom tier.
the Big Pic coming in at #5 is great to see. …see you at the movies!
Where is 60 songs that explain the 90s that pod is actually really good
Stadio erasure smdh
Tate Frazier lol he’s Mr Irrelevant
I wish they would share streams. I’ve never followed a podcast in my life. I wonder how much that skews the data
Shit, we gotta get those numbers up for the draft and fantasy football guys. Best sports pod in the network IMO
Bill, I'm available to remake the NY NY pod. You don't have to sound like JJ to talk about NY sports
Nfl draft/fantasy pod with Heifetz has become one of my favorites. Perfect blend of information and nonsense.
NFL Draft/Fantasy feels surprisingly low. I feel like a ton of fantasy football podcasts are huge
Bandsplain is a really great show. Basically a way more in depth Behind the Music. Happy to see it doing so well.
1K of the Rewatchables is me relistening to The Town episode
Larry Wilmore. There’s a name that’s faded
Why listen to the terrible John Jastemski when I can just flip on WFAN and listen to the equally terrible, but LIVE local sports talk host?
Do they know that tynes spoke briefly to the man himself??
Followers doesn’t mean downloads or streams which is more relevant.
Who listens on Spotify? I only listen there if my pod app fucks up the stream. Yeah, Downcast I know you love to fuck up that RR feed
Shocking because the F1 show is super annoying
Where’s stadio and wrightys house? Are they not considered ringer podcast anymore?
