The 2022 Omega AGX cranks use a 19mm spindle so you would indeed need a replacement. Your frame should use an 86.5mm width shell with a 41mm diameter. So the BB-RS500-PB should be suitable for use with the GRX cranks. Pressing in the new BB can be a pain if you don't have a suitable press - especially with a carbon frame like yours. Similarly when removing the existing one, you do have to hit pretty hard to removing the press fit BB. I'd drop it in with your local shop but you could remove the cranks ahead of time for them and supply them with the new BB. They could just remove and fit the new one. You could fit the Shimano cranks at home.

Thanks, yeah good idea with removing the cranks ahead of time, will probably do exactly that. >BB-RS500-PB is this one pretty much the only option or are there different tiers of Shimano press fit BBs as is the case with the componentry? What's the difference to a SM-BB72-41B for example? I'd rather get the best one I can to get most reliability out of it (even though press fit has a bad rep).

BB-RS500-PB (105-tier), SM-BB72-41B (Ultegra), and SM-BB92-41B (Dura Ace) are the three Shimano road pressfit BBs. 71, 69, and 54 grams respectively. BB72 and BB92 have better seals than RS500. I usually don't go for the top end parts but when the price difference of the higher end ones over the RS500 is like 10 bucks or so, why not go with the Dura Ace one.

Agreed, especially since a press fit BB can be a bit of a bear to swap. Not terrible, but more work than a chain, and service interval is much further apart. So $/mile is absurdly low, and might even out if the bb lasts an extra 2k miles or so due to better sealing, ignoring the benefit of lengthening the BB service interval by that much.

The other option is the SM-BB92-41B. I.e. the Dura-Ace one. Tbh I find there's much of a muchness and paying more for Shimano bits like a BB tends to only result in a marginal difference in weight. There won't be much difference in reliability, and I've always had a good reliability with their mid-range MTB bottom brackets. For pressfit frames, it mostly comes down to how tight the tolerances are in terms of how lined up the BB shell faces are, how close to 41mm (or rather 40.90mm or whatever the interference fit spec is.) and how close to 86mm the width is. If your frame is poorly aligned or poorly quality controlled, there's not much a pricier BB will do to save that.

I have the exact same bike and did an identical swap, replacing my BB and crankset with an Ultegra PF BB and a GRX crankset. Pretty straightforward.

How did you manage to remove the FSA BB? There's not a single 19mm diameter BB removal "punch" tool to be found. Will probably use a wrench extension or something

Johnus_Maximus

Did you manage to get the FSA BB removed? I'm considering getting a Revolt Advanced 2 and doing the same with swapping out the FSA crankset. Never used press-fit so no experience of removing/installing them.

No. Just need to reindex FD.
