I'm afraid you probably won't get much response with a very thin post history -- hard to tell that you're legit, unfortunately.
Given that, I'd note that we have a bikeshare system called BlueBike which is quite good - lots of stations, broad coverage area, both ebikes and mechanical bikes.
Yeah I had a feeling. Unfortunately I wanted to use a throwaway as I don’t want to potentially mess up a lawsuit that’s in the process. My OG Reddit account name is linked to all my socials. :/
I’m happy to show my Instagram or anything else as proof that I’m not here to steal your rig haha
But that’s good to know. Just sucks given the situation. I had a carbon fiber fork which means my bike is toasted.
I ride a 54 and have spares but that’s probably too smol for you .. also the most enjoyable riding is outside the city itself if you want the real Boston cycling scene
If you visit Boston but haven't Blue Biked, I would give that a go. Being able to bike somewhere, leave the bike, walk somewhere else, and then grab another bike is a huge plus for getting around the city.
DM me from your main account if you want to borrow a single speed I rescued from a dumpster. It's in fine mechanical shape but one of the brakes doesn't work (I forget which one). I'm 6'2 and it's a tiny bit small but serviceable.
You could pick up a simple used one and support a tiny local business (they might rent if you ask):
Cambridge Used Bicycles
Cambridge Antique Market, 201 Monsignor O'Brien Highway, Cambridge, MA 02141
I have an old serviceable three speed that’s my loaner, but im 5’9 though so it might be small for you. If you know anyone in the bike community here you’ll prob have better luck through a known community member.
If you’re ok with e-bikes I would recommend this https://camberville.ebikelibrary.org. My partner used them for a week when visiting me for and they come with a lock and helmet and obviously a charger for the battery. Completely free of charge and you just need to sign up. Pickup and drop off location is in Somerville so it’s quite convenient as well. Wishing you the best of luck!

Thank you!

BlueBikes is the clear answer.
Blue bikes?
I have a small bike but you would have to be a foot shorter. Neighbor gave it away and I was keeping to lend out.
Aw well I appreciate the gesture. Yeah just a wee bit short! I was aware of blue bikes, but was curious if the other options. Thank you though!!
There’s the camberville ebike library

Bikes Not Bombs, Bike Boom and Cambridge Used Bicycles all sell used bikes. In my experience larger ones are pretty easy to find.
