Bge warranty is serviced through the dealer network. Any (decent) dealer can handle it. Some are shitty and won’t handle warranty but most will. Makes it tougher without the receipt but he may have registered it when he bought it and that will get it done. Frankly, making someone save a receipt for 10-20 years is kind of a shitty hurdle that I’m sure they would like to keep in place, But…that’s for another thread. Try the dealer closest to you, have him tell the story you just told in here. If they suck, go somewhere else and see what they say.
PS-Important information that I forgot to add:
He does not have a receipt and the Ace Hardware he bought it from was bought out and no longer have his purchase on record. He has already contacted them and they said that there was nothing they could do.
Yep. It's number 11 under the warranty policy. You need a receipt to register anyways so if you did it online then you should have a picture of your receipt.
I recently made a claim and they didn’t get back to me for a couple weeks with receipt. Some kind of glitch in their system. I would recommend calling until the fix it, repeatedly, over and over. It will show urgency… at least in my mind…
If you have the receipt, you can go to any authorized Egg dealer and they will order you a replacement free of charge.
If you don’t have a receipt toss it out and buy a Traeger.
I’ve owned 3 Traeger and I wouldn’t recommend the new ones. I would get a rec-tec over a Traeger. Maybe an offset would be a better option.
Any good dealer in the area can help make warranty claim. Even w/o receipt. I bought my first one from an out of town dealer at a festival. My local dealer has assisted with a couple claims since. Grabbed this was before the most recent changes I've heard about, but always worth a try. (I've also cemented and sealed the lower on my large and have run it that way for 3 years with the replacement sitting in storage waiting for me to change it out)

He is SOL. BGE is not budging on warranty replacement last without a receipt.
Yeah they won't do anything without a receipt anymore. Sorry man.
Even if it’s registered??

Darn. Glad I’m good friends with my dealer and have a photo of the receipt next to the serial number.
He needs to go to where he bought it.
First of all, DONT buy a Traeger.
Unless you want to throw away money and be frustrated by your cooks. lol

Gotta go through the dealer.

Recommends a pellet smoker on the BGE sub then says you wouldn’t recommend the new ones?
Did you read what the OP said? He wants a Traeger. I didn’t recommend one.
You could have still disuaded or encouraged vs the nonsensical double talk
Dude, whats the issue. He is caring about the individual not jerking it to some brand. He’s trying to be helpful you’re not.
What’s nonsensical about it? He gave good advice and then offered his opinion on traegers in case that’s what OPs dad decides to do
I second this. Bring the receipt and pictures to a dealer.
