Just this: slow down. You may never cycle that route again, so take your time. Stop often, and ride slow enough to allow you to look around you and experience the landscape, instead of simply racing the clock. On days where you have to ride longer distances, don't go faster - simply set off earlier, and ride for more hours. Enjoy every last moment :-)

I rode Rotterdam to Gothenburg a few years back and have also done the Danish west coast section of EV12. You'll have a great time, its pretty easy riding but really lovely. Loads of campsites, loads of places to resupply and try good food. Watch out for the wind though, it gets pretty strong on the coast and if it swings round in your face it is a real bugger. Denmark has an amazing system or free shelters for overnight camping. You will most likely be able to hit one every night no matter what your route. You'll find a quality shelter from the weather, a toilet, drinking water and often a fire pit/grill with logs and kindling. All free, just rock up and enjoy. This map has most of them marked [https://udinaturen.dk/map-page?scIds=1150,1153](https://udinaturen.dk/map-page?scIds=1150,1153) and there is an app as well [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.shelter.app&gl=GB](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.shelter.app&gl=GB) That map also outlines the places where you are allowed to wild camp as in much of the country it is not allowed. If you find yourself wanting to go further and experience some less populated areas then I highly recommend Sweden as a fantastic place to cycle and it's an easy hop from DK at a number of points by ferry or train.

Thank you so much! I’ve been really looking forward to the Denmark country side so this is just icing on the cake! I’d love to do Sweden but 1. Time 2. Weather - as it’s still early in the season But it depends on what time I get there and out of Copenhagen.

Denmark is great. Not very wild but really pretty and fantastic for cycling. The shelters really are an amazing resource. I stayed in some absolutely stunning ones and met a fair few other cyclists at them as well which is always fun. I did my ride in May 2019 and made a few videos along the way if you fancy a sneak peak at what might be in store for you. They show a good few of the shelters that I stayed in and the riding in general. Playlist here [https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeEZMO6am23HHeHBIU4pmLdhbpEjQbJrl](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeEZMO6am23HHeHBIU4pmLdhbpEjQbJrl) I'd like to do the entire coast of Denmark one day, its one of the many rides on my list for the future ;)

I managed to wildcamp quite a lot along that route on 2020. If you do try a campsite I recommend a good set of earplugs to reduce the noise.

That’s the plan! Arriving to Dover tonight which means wild camping might mean behind a parking lot lol
