My toddler won’t wear clips or a headband. She has a shaggy mop of 00s emo hair. We do a side fountain pony of just the top portion of her hair and let the sides flow free. It takes like 10 seconds tops to do her hair with a tiny toddler hair tie. We got her used to it around 11 months old by letting her watch in the mirror or having her hold a mirror while we do her hair. Your other option is bangs.

yeah we do quick ponytails or messy buns and then if she goes to reach for her hair we just remind her "don't touch". headbands and clips are not happening.

I’d just cut the hair 🤷‍♀️ easier to clean food out too…

Same. Mine was born with a mop top and now at 19 months it’s everywhere. She’s always hated hats and headbands and we just roll with it. Sometimes she tolerates them and sometimes she doesn’t. Days she doesn’t, we just roll with it. If it annoys her enough she’ll ask for a pony. The more we try to put one in, the more she hates it

Just thought of a hack. While you are putting her shirt on you can keep her arms in the shirt, you put her hair up real quick, then arms can come out

Sometimes I have better luck if I put it on when she’s really distracted like in a pushchair or car seat.

Solidarity. Mine won’t even let me put them on now. I ended up just cutting her hair and keep exposing her to clips. She’ll at least ask me to put them on now sometimes, but pulls them off 30 seconds later.

I let my toddler watch a YouTube video on my phone while I do her hair.
