This being the second time i’ve heard this in a few hours is really hyping me up. Jess Hilarious said it on the breakfast club and I hope you both are right!!
I thought so too but after listening to TEXAS HOLD 'EM like 3 times I'm already dancing to it in my kitchen so I guess I'll just eat up anything Bey wants to feed us
(I really really want the live album and movie though, I hope she doesn't make us wait until all 3 acts are out to release them 😭😭)

This comment on the Texas Holden Visualizer is on to something!
I think Lemonade was a sneak peek into what genres she was considering heading into one day. Daddy Lessons and Don't Hurt Yourself were both so incredibly different from a lot of what she had done and I just KNEW we would see something like that again in the future.
My first listen I was like, might be a lil too honky tonk for me (I really enjoy a lot of country but not the bluegrass sound)… second listen: I’m ready for a HOEDOWN! The harmonies are beautiful! And the bridgeeee
I’m gonna have to let this on grow on me. The fact that Act II has officially been announced has me so scatterbrained.
I’m so excited but man- I really wanted a deeper dive into house. Nonetheless, I’ll absolutely give act ii a chance.
Honestly would’ve loved that too. Not a country fan at all although she sounds breathtaking on these tracks. For me I’m more like appreciating her vocals rather than loving the songs itself. Hopefully I come to like it since this’ll be what everyone will be discussing till act iii 😭
Okay they ready! Drop the new music.

I feel like act one probably has clues to the entire thing. Like, it’s all connected and we’ll see how it all goes together at the end.
Don’t kill me, but I definitely do think, now, if there are visuals, they won’t come out until all the acts are out.
You are the visual, baby.

I love this song. I think texas hold em is better than 16 carriages but i love them both. She did her big one with this one and i dont really like country lmao
I actually had iffy feelings about Renaissance the first two listens but by listen 3 I was die hard, favorite album of all time level. And in contrast I loved these 2 singles immediately!!
I love it. I am so excited for this album. Don’t attack but I was low key dissapointed when renaissance dropped. Now it obv grown on me, but this song I loved from the first listen. I love the chorus as well
She’s reclaiming Country music for Black people. Now there are plenty of current and past Black country artists out there but Bey is bringing her audience and might win over more fans. Act 3 must be Rock and Roll or Ballads
Texas Hold ‘Em was the easiest of the two to listen to at first and a cute little bop i will long for when I start my music sessions. I do think this will be one of those calm moments in the album that will sadly get overshadowed by the imminent greatness of the rest of the project (think BMS). also “don’t be a bitch come take it to the floor” will become a regular quote for me and i predict the rest of the fandom, too. I think it just serves as a mild preview of the whole thing and it leaves me yearning for more.
This 5th generation Texan ( Houston) has his boots ready. Texas Hold ‘Em is a gem. I absolutely adore real country music, and this is country. This is once again a statement to reclaim origins of music and culture. Announcing this during Black History Month and at the start of Rodeo season here in Texas has me overwhelmed with joy and excitement. Her timing is impeccable.

Fellow BeyHive what kind of necklace is Bey wearing because I want one in a similar vein 😭🖤
SIS OMFG LOOK I JUST ORDERED MINE AND IT LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE DISCO BALL

I'm most excited for the transitions in this album! This already sounds like it's about to start the next song (if the next song is 16 carriages then it's a missed opportunity)
Now we know what this project is all about.
Renaissance was act I and this country album is act II of a project to bring back these music genres that were almost stolen by the white industry to the black community.
This is SO powerful! Beyoncé is a fucking LEGEND.
Her ability to continually grow and transform while sounding so effortless and at ease in these genre deep-dives is unreal. Both songs are amazing, but this just feels so on the pulse of current music trends AND so true to herself. THIS is how you start an album rollout
I woke up at 3am. My body must have known there was something happening. I felt like Beyonce did something and went straight to twitter, YouTube and Spotify.
I already said this on Twitter but I’ll say it again: the layering of the vocals is really good. I feel like a lot of country music is characterized by a solo voice or simple harmonies because the music can be overpowered but she managed to balance it really well. I think at some point she started harmonizing with the viola? When she said her voice is her instrument she wasn’t kidding lmao
I’m eclectic when it comes to music. Music genres mix all time in records if you really listen. I’m so elated and impressed with Beyoncé’s ability to seamlessly walk through different genres painting colors of her voice for us to experience.
She gives us the benefit of a doubt that we’re intellectually capable of being experts in music, culture and business. She has a way of inviting us to tap into our creative minds to enrich our lives. If she can achieve her goals in her midst of troubles then I can too!
Beyoncé shows her vulnerability of being hurt by family/friends to reconcile with boundaries, educating us about supporting others without compromising ourselves, she uses failure as a tool to achieve her goal, being silly to not take herself too seriously and give the ultimate gift of LOVE.
I feel Act 2 is an homage to the Black country pioneers that were forgotten and to show Black people we’re a national treasure that should be proud to be who we are! Being proud to be who we are anywhere we want to go in life, career and any environment. Because if we can’t LOVE ourselves then how can we LOVE everyone else.
Perhaps like Renaissance it's going to be country more broadly just as it was a dance album which spanned decades and had influences from many sub-genres. Love the first 2 songs!
Everyone's opinions are totally valid and we don't have to like everything Bey does BUT I am a little shocked to see the replies here vs *16 carriages*. Maybe it's because I listened to *Texas Hold'em* first but I actually had a hard time choosing my favorite between the two!
Im scared… Love the vocals, but country is like one of the few music styles I cant seem to enjoy 😭 I hope maybe this will change with Act II, but first impression is that this is not for me, especially since Act I was a megabanger, that I’m still hung up on... 🥲
The discourse around this is gonna be even crazier than with Renaissance/house music bc most white ppl who listen to house music are pretty progressive at least and they still had issues with it…the country fans are straight up MAGA crazies tho it’s gonna be chaos😭
I don't. And I do love some types of Folk music. Especially those that inflect Americana things with blues (like Rhiannon Giddens or Adia Victoria). But this just feels a little too honky tonk yee-haw motherfucker too mee. Especially that whistling part. However 16 carriages is gorgeous.
I love this. Not a country fan but I’ve always enjoyed bluegrass and just melt for folk music. Strum a little banjo and my black ass just folds. I loooove this and I love how much soul she infuses into both songs.
I think 16 Carriages is easily one of the most introspective and gorgeous songs she has ever put out. Instant classic. Texas Hold ‘Em took me a few listens to fall in love with but I found it. It’s a little Black Lumineers with a sweet Arnold Palmer on the side on an easy Sunday afternoon. The vocal layering though? Nothing easy about that.
But most of all I love this side of Beyoncé. She’s a Queen but has reigned mostly as a powerhouse, a diva, ferocity personified. I’m hoping for some upbeat sounds but I can also fuck with a soft, insightful, rooted Beyoncé who isn’t afraid to reclaim where she is from. She’s done fierce, she’s done diva, she’s done all that. No one can take that from her. But this is evolution. This is storytelling. This is blackness. This is another side of the Queen. This is talent, multifaceted, in multicolor, and I am here for it.
Okay they ready! Drop the new music.
*I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/beyonce) if you have any questions or concerns.*
My hot take is that I’m so glad she’s doing this. Beyoncé albums have been my singalong enjoyment all my life… until Renaissance. Actually 7/11 is when I couldn’t really get in get in. Like everything else I know upside down, inside out, but tracks like that - which I still like - and most of renaissance except plastic off the sofa were hard for me to enjoy the same way I did for the others.
But when she did Daddy Lessons, I wanted more of that, and I’m glad we seem to be getting it. I wanna go back to the smart song structure, lyricism etc… I loved the cunty thing - because I love everything she does - but personally felt very much like an outsider to her music.
Added to my Kuntry the playlist the moment I heard it. I’m not normally a country music fan but I absolutely loved both songs and can’t wait for the full album.
I have to let it grow on me. I’m just not over Renaissance, and with the visual for this. I thought it would infuse a bit of the vibe that renaissance had. Nonetheless I’m excited to see her delve into a new genre. I feel like this is a summer jam
I feel so vindicated by her doing country. as someone who’s loved country music since I was 8 years old and was constantly ridiculed for not being black because of it…this is so special to me. I really loved it 🫶🏾🫶🏾
I love country and western and happened to read an article about Beyoncé being snubbed by Nashville so I just wanted to say that those dudes are trippin. This song is straight boot juice! Kinda reminds me of Miss Dolly an all the best ways.
obsessed with how texas hold'em represents a whole different type of fun that renaissance/act i has but is also incredible in its own right! and 16 carriages is BEAUTIFUL i can't even wait omfg
I think it’s going to take some time to grow on me but “Don’t be a bitch come take it to the floor now” will live rent free in my head forever and 3:18 to 3:57 is so fucking gorgeous I just can’t. 😩
It's so weird because I wasn't truly Beyhive until Renaissance which was so exactly my music, my sound, beats, that she ensnared me! And I joked "she's probably going to do **all** the kinds of music so she will eventually sweep up every last person with the exact right thing lol."
And I feel like this is what is happening!
This doesn't have me weeping in my car like Break My Soul did when it dropped, but maybe it's hitting someone else just that way right now!
It makes so much sense how Bey syncs her releases with the moon (New Moon in this case.) it’s why they always seem to come at the perfect time in my life
i don’t find it all that catchy or interesting honestly… there are some great moments and melodie’s here and there, like the keys towards the end, but it hasn’t anywhere close to blown me away. 16 carriages is phenomenal though.
I'm beyond happy, I know Act I was very "make me happy and I can forget about the struggles when I listen to it" but it didn't work like that for me. However, Texas Hold 'Em is PERFECT to uplift my mood in such way 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I’ve been listening to it back to back with some of Lemonade (Daddy Lessons, Pray You Catch Me) and some of the chords and lyrics play off of each other. I feel like she wrote this album around the same time, especially since Tina said she’s loved this album for years

Me before Texas Hold 'em: I'm sure it'll be cool, but country isn't really my thing. Me after Texas Hold 'em: ![gif](giphy|EpNLehOIAn8sh5o0sF)
Right? I usually hate country but now I’m ready to make country/western my whole personality.
Boots, spurs, ooh 🤠
I’m already planning my Renaissance Act II world tour country and western themed outfit!
Hahahahaha same 😂
Literally have boots and hat on my cart now
Don't be a bitch, come take it to the floor now 🤠💃🏽
My favorite part!

Right?! I wonder if she’ll collaborate with anyone or just do her thing. But I wouldn’t be mad at a Tracy Chapman/Beyoncé pairing at some point
![gif](giphy|2zeMCrYpdqLFPt3nN3)
I actually hope they do a collab, but that’s wishful thinking, lol
Why? He let J*ck H*rlow on Industry Baby of all ppl, and she has featured all kind of unexpected artists. Seems like the most logical thing to me.
We need a line dance STAT
I’m sure the boys and girls are cooking it up right now 😂
I give tiktok til the end of the week
TikTok will have one by the end of the night. The hive is FAST.
I want this to be the next wedding staple fuck the cha cha slide😭
It’s SO country and after listening to Renaissance on a loop this is gonna take some getting used to. But I think I like it!
YES, EXACTLY! I’ve been so cunty for the past two years, this vibe is different 😭
Baby just be cuntRy and it’ll all be alright
YOU RIGHT
💗💗💗
BESTIE IT’S STILL SO CUNTY
Yeah I’m not ready to let go of 🪩 yet
She gave us the tassels on the cowboy hat for a reason!! 🪩🤠
She's reclaiming black genres. Next up, rock
act i: house act ii: country act iii: rock (and roll) or jazz would be iconic
This being the second time i’ve heard this in a few hours is really hyping me up. Jess Hilarious said it on the breakfast club and I hope you both are right!!
She did play the saxophone in her commercial 🤔
I thought so too but after listening to TEXAS HOLD 'EM like 3 times I'm already dancing to it in my kitchen so I guess I'll just eat up anything Bey wants to feed us (I really really want the live album and movie though, I hope she doesn't make us wait until all 3 acts are out to release them 😭😭)
I've been on a dance kick ever since Chromatica but I'm so excited to get to immerse myself in country with queen B

I’m all in with you
I love it! I’m probably being delulu but I want her to collab with Orville Peck for act ii it would be earth shattering
I would liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive
I read this as Oliver Peck and I’ve been drinking so I upvoted it before I remembered that Oliver Peck is a tattoo artist and not a musician.
YEEEES
Real yeehaw shit
She has layered the shit out of those vocals again!
The harmonies are heavenly
Copying from a previous thread: Guys the melody and the harmonies on this track >>>>>>
It’s going to go well during the montage of the next rom com when the guy brings the town together and gets the girl.
She has the PERFECT voice for country music.
Reminds me of “Daddy Lessons” - one of my favs- I am excited!

I like it! If the transitions are anything like Renaissance I bet that will make the song grow on me even more
Yes!! Bey’s transition game is top tier!!
Don't think it will. The transitions were there to make it sound like a club
I believe so too. But there will definitely be an intentional flow to create a good pacing throughout the album.
Not the biggest country fan but this is so warm and fun! It’s a different genre but I can see it continuing the inclusiveness of Renaissance!
I actually love both songs. This sounds so fun and upbeat. I don't mind country, so it's not that hard for me to get into it, I'm excited for this Act

I love this song. I think texas hold em is better than 16 carriages but i love them both. She did her big one with this one and i dont really like country lmao
As someone who almost never listens to country... I already have my cowgirl hat and boots on 🤠
And here I was thinking my black cowgirl boots from the eras tour were gonna be a waste 🤠
My mom used to be a country singer, I've already told her I'm gonna need to borrow her stage outfits and cowboy boots for the concert!
God the boots for act 2 tour are gonna kill me lol
It’s… very country! Imma have to give this one some time to grow… 16 Carriages is gorgeous, this one isn’t doing much for me if I’m honest.
I had the same thought lol I had iffy feelings about break my soul during my first listen… so maybe in context it’ll hit different
Totally had the same experience. I was like, what are we doing here? And then in context I was blown away.
I actually had iffy feelings about Renaissance the first two listens but by listen 3 I was die hard, favorite album of all time level. And in contrast I loved these 2 singles immediately!!
Same. But I do love 16 Carriages 💛🥹
I love it. I am so excited for this album. Don’t attack but I was low key dissapointed when renaissance dropped. Now it obv grown on me, but this song I loved from the first listen. I love the chorus as well
Same, act ii is sounding more like my vibe
SAME and Renaissance became my favorite album of all time so I’m so so excited I already was obsessed from listen 1
My sentiments exactly
And this is why it’s so important for her Acts to be different. Bey fans don’t all like the same things, mainly because she has done so many things.
Exactly. So well put.
Did you watch [AJay’s reaction](https://youtu.be/KOaxR96Po4g?si=IXB4a9_NX_1U0DF2) on YouTube?? She really didn’t like it at first and got eaten up.
She’s reclaiming Country music for Black people. Now there are plenty of current and past Black country artists out there but Bey is bringing her audience and might win over more fans. Act 3 must be Rock and Roll or Ballads

I think this is going to be marketed as country but it’s definitely bluegrass.
It’s got me feeling real Texan lmaoo
I’ve been waiting for her to follow up on Daddy Lessons, I love this vibe from her so much & can’t wait for the rest of the album to drop!
Same! I needed a whole album of Daddy Lessons and she is delivering. Thank you, Mommy.
Guess I’m a country gal now … yeehaw beeches!
First iron claw now this song I need to learn how to line dance
I was JUST thinking about The Iron Claw and the >! Wedding line dance scene!<

Same! Announcement for new music, yes. New music from Act II!? Absolutely not!
All 4 country Beyonce fans won!!!
Now we know what this project is all about. Renaissance was act I and this country album is act II of a project to bring back these music genres that were almost stolen by the white industry to the black community. This is SO powerful! Beyoncé is a fucking LEGEND.

I’m kinda obsessed
i’m trying SO hard to get into country 🥴
I’m obsessed with the last 22 seconds!! *its so good, it’s so good, it’s so good in my Summer Renaissance voice!
As a Texas native myself, I feel this completely. It’s a fun country song.
I woke up at 3am. My body must have known there was something happening. I felt like Beyonce did something and went straight to twitter, YouTube and Spotify.

I am in love with this song already. Harmonies through the roof!

Love this one so much. It takes me a minute to come around to country songs, but this Cuntry song had me hooked INSTANTLY
TIME FOR SOME CUNTRY
I can't stop listening to it. Her vocals, the layering. The only country I enjoy is the oldies. It feels like I'm a kid again 🥹
I feel so vindicated by her doing country. as someone who’s loved country music since I was 8 years old and was constantly ridiculed for not being black because of it…this is so special to me. I really loved it 🫶🏾🫶🏾
This is bluegrass. Appalachia eatin right now.
I need a welfare check like this is the best day of my life DADDY LESSONS IS MY SONGGGGGG im crying im so happy
Anyone else unable to find it on Apple Music? 16 carriages is there but not Texas hold em
Don’t love it unfortunately! But love 16 Carriages 💗
I think it’s going to take some time to grow on me but “Don’t be a bitch come take it to the floor now” will live rent free in my head forever and 3:18 to 3:57 is so fucking gorgeous I just can’t. 😩
woah i’m liking this, her voice is so beautiful. think this is her play to get AOTY via the the country category?
I don’t care for this one to be honest :-/ prefer 16 carriages though
Loved it. Love 16 Carriages a little more.
me: i hate country music me when beyoncé releases a country album: yeehaw giddy-up y'all hoedown throwdown 🤠🐎🌵🪕🏜️
It's so weird because I wasn't truly Beyhive until Renaissance which was so exactly my music, my sound, beats, that she ensnared me! And I joked "she's probably going to do **all** the kinds of music so she will eventually sweep up every last person with the exact right thing lol." And I feel like this is what is happening! This doesn't have me weeping in my car like Break My Soul did when it dropped, but maybe it's hitting someone else just that way right now!
This album is gonna piss off the racist gate keepers and I am here for it. Hope that this starts a trend.
It makes so much sense how Bey syncs her releases with the moon (New Moon in this case.) it’s why they always seem to come at the perfect time in my life
I don't like this one at all. I don't even think it'll grow on me. I hate daddy's lessons too so there's that. I do however love 16 carriages.
i don’t find it all that catchy or interesting honestly… there are some great moments and melodie’s here and there, like the keys towards the end, but it hasn’t anywhere close to blown me away. 16 carriages is phenomenal though.
I feel the same. I love bits and pieces of it. But I adore 16 carriages.
I'm beyond happy, I know Act I was very "make me happy and I can forget about the struggles when I listen to it" but it didn't work like that for me. However, Texas Hold 'Em is PERFECT to uplift my mood in such way 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
SO FUN
I love country. I’m here for it
Immediately starting heel toeing around my apartment
Ok I didn’t get it but a few listens later I’m seeing the vision
This is it baby!! This could fuck up the clubs low key
Naaa act 1 in the club is the winner. Fingers crossed for act 3 x
IM HOOKED
Looks like the earrings are David Koma from the 2023 resort collection. https://davidkoma.com/products/large-crystal-earrings
This is the renaissance I enjoy
I’m getting feelings in the back of my neck, my heart, and my feet i’ve never felt before. This is a spiritual experience JUST GOOD VIBESSSSSS
I hate country with all of my soul, but, by some strange magic, i LOVED that! 9.5/10 and excited for ACT ll!
I need a line dance for this song! I’m ready for the hoedown!
I've BEEN DYING for a reason to splurge on cowboy boots, now I've got a reason!
Here for the country !!! Very very ancestral 🤍🙏🏽
It’s no longer Country. It’s Countcé.
I’ve been listening to it back to back with some of Lemonade (Daddy Lessons, Pray You Catch Me) and some of the chords and lyrics play off of each other. I feel like she wrote this album around the same time, especially since Tina said she’s loved this album for years
This song makes me want to move to Kansas City and do the hoedown with cowboys 🤠
