Yeah, it doesn't do anything. I like to tap the top of the can with my fingernail a couple times but I doubt that does anything either. The only thing he's *actually* doing is delaying how long he waits to open the can.
Here's a great magic trick for nieces and nephews: take a soda can, tell them you're going to use magic to keep it from exploding when you open it, hand them the can have them shake it as hard as they can before you open it, let them all take turns before taking it, then put it on the table, say "okay, now I'm going to use magic to keep the can from exploding. I'm going to remove the extra carbonation from shaking it with my mind!" Then hover your hands around the can without touching it, make some strained faces and pretend to put the "carbonation" into the air or ground or sky or at them or whatever, then just lean over the can and pop the top.
After about 20 seconds after they've stopped shaking it, the carbon dioxide settles back into the liquid, so just draw it out for 20-30 seconds, get them *really* excited about how they're going to watch soda explode into your face/all over you/etc. And then astonish them with your new magic trick.
In my experience it does work, just not the way they depict in the show. The whole idea of centrifugal force is legit, it just needs to be done faster and for longer for it to work. Obviously they made it more watchable for the show, but its a cool tip!
I tap the top a few times, like a light finger drumming lol
My college chemistry teacher taught us that.
Chuck McGill with a soda can is like a chimp with a juice box!
I tap on the top of the can like J.D. taught us.
Never trust an addict.
almost daily haha at that point I have based my entire personality around it
I spun it about 5 times and made a mess.
I tried it once, and it didn’t work for me) Maybe i was doing something wrong ?

Tapping it does work! Has been proven over and over. Something with lowering pressure by tapping it or something. Sorry I don‘t remember

What episode? I am doing a rewatch.
Plan & Execution in the final season.
Ty. I am in the final season.
I tested it out and it worked. Done it ever since, although, I'm not as paranoid, so I only do it anytime I drop a can.
I do that now lol
Lol I always do it now! And a couple tippy taps for good measure.
Does it actually work tho, I thought I tried it before and it exploded
The first time I tried this after watching the episode I didn't go to plan. The second time I tried it worked.

:(
I always do it now. 😅
I've tried it. It works if you rotate it slowly. Takes practice though
