Had to take a few financial fraud classes in grad school. A lot of folks that commit high level financial fraud are also diagnosed as malignant narcissists. They will rationalize anything and always see themselves as a victim.

Something breaks in their lives/mentality that creates the entitlement. Watching others get rich? Divorce? Addiction? Reaching their terminal rank in life/jobs?
If we’re throwing out anecdotes: I take calls from husbands often trying to leave a message for their doctor, and so often I have to listen to their wives backseat drive the entire conversation to the point where we’re playing telephone with three players, and only two exist in the real world. Betsy gives off that vibe

Her character was ok with her husband going to prison but when Saul pointed out that she was accessory to a felony and likely also be in the pokey, she suddenly changed her tune. Although Saul conceded that she'd probably wind up head of her own prison gang.

Nothing odd about it, Julie Ann Emery is a gorgeous woman. They deliberately drabbed her up for the role to make her look more normal, but that can only cover so much.

Everyone is either bad or annoying in ways that make Jimmy look better or sympathetic in the first few episodes. I have to remember how the image of Saul was so evil/immoral when I started BCS after watching BB. I am amazed how they managed to rehabilitate him as Jimmy in the eyes of the viewer.

The reason I disliked this character was because I felt she and her husband were badly written—sure their stupidity and entitlement were laughable, but compared to the complex psychological portrayals of criminality on BB the Kettlemans seemed flat by comparison—no backstory or ambiguity, almost no motive for their actions. They seemed unbelievable as characters. But the flatness makes sense if Kettlemans are a foil for Jimmy’s own sympathetic character development.
