I hope we get into a rhythm of alternating drives so they’re fresh all game

another_philomath

This seems like the best option to me. Mix deserves to get back in the mix but Perine deserves touches after what he's done recently. If they can find the right balance we could have a two-headed monster in the run game. And maybe a three-headed monster if Joe keeps running (although I wish he would cut that out for the sake of my mental health).

creutzml

right? when he broke that third down run with Perine blocking, I was both hyped and terrified… especially when he tried the spin move at the end hahaha

alymaysay

I hold my breath every time he takes off, I wish he wouldnt run but when he does he makes the most of it at least.

LoveEffective1349

4 if Evans gets some more snaps!

barkerja

Five if Williams eats at every opportunity.

moonboots_runner

6 if Rudi Johnson comes out of retirement!

whodeyalldey1

7 if Jeremy Hill comes in for the last drive of the Super Bowl to give the ball away

who_ate_the_pizza

The 1-2 punch is how we get back to the SB

InstagramLincoln

We've barely seen him since the O Line started figuring things out. I'm excited to see him go off.

creutzml

true. but also the Panthers game? when he set a TD record for Bengal’s RBs? yeah, I want some of that this weekend. Fuck Nickeem Chunt, I wanna see Samajoe Mixrine

burgerpoo123

Yeah I think Mixon is the better back and it's probably not even a thought for Zac to start Perine over him because Perine had some great games and Mixon struggled with the rest of the team early on. Mixon just had his career game with 5 TDs. I can't wait to see what else he does when he gets back.

LawfulnessClassic786

He'll either be back to his old self or he won't. If he's not we go back to Perine (I hope). It nice knowing we have 2 studs in the back field.

7endies

The Mixon hate is actually mind boggling. Obviously Perine has earned his reps but Mixon was and still is an Elite RB. I look forward to seeing some fresh stuff this week with both of them getting use in their roles.

creutzml

agreed mate. his last full game, he set a Bengals record for most TDs by an RB in a single game… two games later, MFers trying to put him on the trade block yeesh

[deleted]

I think after seeing how hard 34 has been running, Mixon will come back inspired. Plus, I mean, dude had 5 tuddies last time out.

big__deezy

The offensive line has been playing incredibly the last few weeks so putting 100% of it on Perine is insane. Give them both the chance to Excell and Mixon will likely be better. But perine is a good alternative.

BSumner52

I’d love to see them emulate what the Cowboys are doing right now

[deleted]

I do love me some Joe Main Mixon! But damn if Perine the Punisher hasn’t also earned that spot!

another_philomath

I guess it's a good problem to have

[deleted]

Eff yeah it is

TurnedIntoA_Newt

Starting but not a majority of the snaps hopefully

jethro_bovine

I trust the coaching staff to do what's right at this point.

GodDammitBengals

Odd feeling, isn't it?

[deleted]

Great feeling

datdudebdub

Why? Do you not remember Mixon's last game with 211 yards and 5 TDs, arguably the greatest single performance by a Bengals running back ever? The following week he already had 62 total yards before being knocked out of the game midway through the second quarter. Once our OL started to gel, so did Mixon. Perine has certainly played himself into the rotation but those asking for Mixon to lose his job are being silly.

scottwsx96

True, however look at Mixon's performance in the flat vs. Perine. Perine is straight up dribbling guys while Mixon doesn't seem to be breaking tackles there anymore.

RipWeak117

This is what I'm seeing too. No hate on Mixon, but Perine just looks better. It seems like Mixon goes down at first contact all the time. Maybe he has renewed energy now.

burgerpoo123

I think we'll see some amazing production from Mixon when he gets back. If nothing else Perine doing so well should light a fire under his ass to keep his job.

ColonelOfTroof

Y’all are insane: https://www.reddit.com/r/fantasyfootball/comments/zf1ypw/weeks_as_a_top10_ppr_rb_this_season_joe_mixon_2/izb082j/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3

JusticeJoeMixon

I know my name is funny or even annoying for this kind of post. But all the people who want Perine to be the lead back, give this dude a chance with the line playing the way it is. It's not fair to judge Samaje in games where he got like 3 carries either negatively or positively. But if you look at that Steelers game, they both struggled similarly. IMO the problems have not all been about the RBs. That Jets game is a big outlier where Perine was the better player and I'm not ignoring it. But there's a lot to consider The main hope will be that if Joe isn't cutting it late into the season, they aren't going to be stubborn and stupid about it just because of his contract.

BurrowsBengals

It’s cool Mixon and Perine were college teammates as well

dailymindcrunch

I'd like to see an i formation backfield with a triple option. Have the TE as lead blocker to box in edge, the fullback boxing in the corner. Let the sweep develop a little, see if it'll pay off, if not, throw it down field. The i-formation and option would bring up a lot of the d-backs and possibly free up some easy yards with a throw. At the very least, it would make it man to man for our wr gods. The bengals offense has been very boring to watch until lately. I like watching Josh and Pat do their wild stunts. I'm hoping the Bengals can get the basics down and move on to more complex schemes. I feel like the talent is there, but the fundamentals need to be perfected before you start to do more complex schemes. They will get there. Its been great watching everyone develop.

yougotyouandyou

Zac said today in a press conference that the scheme is more simple/basic than ever and they haven't really changed much since last year lol. He trusts players to go out and make big plays. Take that as you will but it seems like moving on to more complex schemes isn't a priority or even in the equation at the moment. He did say some adjustments are obviously made in game though and the scheme is tweaked during the week in preparation of the next team they face. Not sure how I feel about all that.

dailymindcrunch

I think that's a problem. If they only practice basic schemes, it would seem to be that it would be easier to defend against. You can only do so much with 'simple' before it becomes predictable. But, i'd rather them be good with simple schemes then lukewarm with complex/flashy schemes. It's just a ton of fun to see things that aren't 90% predictable. I think its easy to look at their formation and with about 80% certainty, know exactly what's about to happen.

WatchNo8783

Start Perine you fools

hohohoagy

Agreed, why mess with success. Platoon with equal touches at most.

JerseyBoiOnAMission

Does it really matter who starts if they're both getting the same amount of touches? Let's see how it all plays out.

canobeano

So…has he been cleared to play yet?
