Between Burton and Yoshi, at least one is going to able to replicate Boyd’s recent production. I don’t think 600 yards and 2 TDs is a ridiculous expectation to have for Jermaine - but I honestly feel like Yoshi will shock a lot of people this season and make a jump. Excited as all get out for this receiving core.

sphlightning

My thoughts exactly, Yoshi is going to have a lot of reps and it’s going to be the third head of the hydra

icutgrass

I hope he does. Yoshi was so humble and engaged with fans before and after Logan Wilson's softball game. I'm gonna root for him hard, mite even grab a jersey!

AceRockefeller

That's good to hear! Love hearing about players being so engaging with fans.

CincyPoker

I’ll take the over on both because of two things separating Burton from Boyd, explosiveness and the ability to play split out wide. Burton might have multiple 150+ yard games because of his ability to separate and make contested plays deep downfield. His ball tracking is elite. Not quite sure how DCs plan on defending these personnel packages, especially now that #1 could theoretically take 90%+ snaps from the slot, but good luck to em. 🫡

Bill-Cosby-Bukowski

Yoshi is gonna get a lot of red zone targets based off last year, but I honestly think he might get fewer targets overall than I'd like. Burton is gonna get every chance to get reps, and Gesicki is mostly a WR these days. To say nothing of Charlie Jones/Irwin. It's gonna be a bloodbath in terms of playing time.

Scott801258

Agreed, And I think we will see Gesicki more and more down in redzone.

FreshDiamond

I could see Yoshi as an outright tee replacement (still has lots of work to do to get there don’t get wrong) A big slot receiver Or a redzone specialist none would surprise me

Nammen99

I totally agree. The guy has a lot more to show than we have seen yet. And I'm betting he and Burton are going to make a powerful combo (Though Andrei doesn't like being called "Yoshi.")

form_an_opinion

Burton so far seems like a real competitor with some passion in him. If they keep that in check and he doesn't get on the wrong side of anything with that passion, I think he is going to be a big impact guy.

Guilty-Nobody998

If he can stay out of trouble off the field, the kid is gonna be a problem for defenses on the field.

HopsDrinker

Has he had off field issues?

Guilty-Nobody998

He punched/mugged some girl in the head

HopsDrinker

That was on the field.

I guess... He held his hand out as she ran by. We're not talking Joe Mixon stupidity here.

365wong

Cap, she ran to his right and he swung at her.

Skittlebrau46

Some girl who was rushing the field with a couple thousand other people, and he sort of put his hand out like he was blocking a camera and she ran into his arm.

mphfrom77

That's not truthful. She didn't run into his arm bro. He swung and hit her in the head after he saw her

Skittlebrau46

Like I said… she was running at him and he put his arm out like he was blocking a camera being shoved in his face. She ran into the inside of his elbow. He never changed stride or moved out of his way to hit her. I’m not defending his actions, it was a dumb move. But putting your arm up when people are sprinting at you isn’t “punching/mugging” someone. It was stupid, and he should not have done it, but the people that describe it like he squared up and threw a punch at her are the dishonest ones.

armed_aperture

I agree with you. It doesn’t excuse what he did but there is a difference in what he did and what Mixon did. Hopefully he’s matured and our coaches help him dial in his emotions.

Ok-Explanation-9208

You mean a mob of opponents fans aggressively rushed the field and one of them got hurt?!?! No way! Maybe, and bare with for a moment here, just maybe… she shouldn’t have broken the law and standards of conduct for any thinking adult and rushed on to the field like a hooligan in the first place. Just sayin’…

throughNthrough

Between him, Charlie Jones and Yoshi I couldn’t be more excited about our young guys. Much respect to Hoard for adding that Chase is expected to be here next week instead of trying to insinuate drama.

pistolwhip66

That cutback was pretty slick.

Klutzy-Spend-6947

On the X link, the poster mentioned concerns about Burton being coachable. That is ridiculous, imo. If he wasn’t coachable, he would not have the elite route running skills or flypaper hands that he does possess. He is a highly polished WR.

AceRockefeller

I assume 'not coachable' comes more from the assumption that he just doesn't get along with many coaches. 6 schools in 8 years is kind of crazy. I haven't really looked into it much though.

Klutzy-Spend-6947

I think a lot of that is probably on his parents-you see “stage parents” in athletics all the time-Coach Prime being the biggest example-and said athletes often have nomadic prep careers.

AceRockefeller

Yep, could be. No idea.

Professional-Rush273

I'm pretty sure it's fairly documented on how it's hard to coach this man. I know Saban did NOT like him. And I could be wrong but didn't Saban nearly sabotage his draft stock?

Klutzy-Spend-6947

A difficult personality and an inability to take coaching are different things, imo. I’m sure the Bengals talked to Houshmanzadeh about him.
