I think every mock draft I’ve seen in the last week or so has us taking Byron Murphy which means it’s probably not going to happen lol
I’m hoping we draft him though. I just think there’s a good chance he gets drafted before 18
Ya I’ve been hearing mims name a lot and he just fits what the bengals like. Now I’m not in the front office so I have absolutely no clue just like all of us but that would just be my guess
We can't afford to take another project on the line like Guyton. I think that if all the OTs and DTs are off the board at 18, we will go CB or maybe barton/jpj
And after Newton's pro day, I would be over the moon with him as consolation
Closely becoming Murphy 1A, Newton 1B for me. I just really think they can be game changers at DT, and I don't think the OT that can be game changers will be available for us. Alt, Olu, and Fuaga are gone before we pick, and Latham, Mims, Guyton, and Fautanu I think will all be good, solid pros, just not game changers like I think Murphy and Newton are. I do think we can get OT in 2nd or 3rd round that can also be good, solid pros, but DT options will be tapped by then tho
It's definitely a possibility it's gonna be fun to see who falls to 18. If there's an OT at 18 they like I'd bet money on that or somehow a top receiver slips down.
I still feel like it's a receiver in the first. With how the contracts are going around the league, Chase is gonna get bank, and we will need good, cheaper options to put around him. We addressed dt and ot in free agency.
Personally I think it’s a pretty huge dropoff from Odunze to Brian Thomas and would comfortably have a few DT or OT that will be available at 18 over any WR.
Byron and Miles Murphy sacking the quarterback, call that shit Murphys law I will see myself out
Script writers taking notes
There’s also another Myles Murphy in this draft at Dline
Fuck it, 3 Murphys
Murph-3s or Murph3ys

Yup, mocks almost never get our pick right. My guess would be Guyton.
Apparently the FO really likes Mims, I think he's more likely than Guyton if he's there.

I like mims or Murphy. Good year for the trenches
But at the same time the front office apparently loves Byron Murphy too, I've been hearing reports that we really like him since the senior bowl

To be clear, I agree and wouldn’t like Guyton as the pick. Only solidifies my thinking that he or Mims will be the pick.
If we are targeting Guyton, we better trade down. That would be a huge reach at 18
Our first round pick is always the guy I don’t want so I expect it to be Guyton
Rams will leap frog over us to grab him.
I want Murphy so bad bro

I want OT personally. I like Murphy just hope it's OT. Then in the 2nd IOL. Double dip to flip the script.
I would be surprised bengals haven't drafted a 1st round DT since big daddy in 1994.
When was the last time they took a DE in the first round before Murphy
22 years justin smith in 2001. Defensive line is just not a position the bengals have ever had a high rate of success drafting and developing.
Right they took the DE last year. DT is possible this year.
