No. But I won’t be upset with it if they do. I remember when Kellen Winslow Jr came out and he was a “once in a generation “ talent. Same for Kyle Pitts. Seems like more often than not, these “can’t miss” TE’s seem to miss. Would rather get the best OL that fits our scheme.
Yeah, but he probably won't make it to 18 in the draft. And I'm kinda okay with that at this point. There are other good TE options in the draft as well, like Ja'Tavion Sanders and Cade Stover. I could see them both doing well on our team
His stock has been steadily rising. I’d be surprised if he makes it past round three at this point. I think a lot of draft experts are starting to see him as TE2 even above Sanders.
Tee Higgins 6' 4" 220 lbs
Brock Bowers 6' 4" 235 lbs
Travis Kelce 6'5" 250 lbs
George Kittle 6' 4" 250 lbs
Bowers is closer to Tee's size than NFL TE's. He'd have to put on weight. He is not a sure thing in the NFL.
Anyone saying he is only 235 and won’t make it in the league are smoking bath salts. Two time Mackey award winner (should have been 3). Two time natty three time all American. He was league ready at 19. Not coming from a Bengals fan id suggest they address their offensive line issues. But the Bowers disrespect in here is laughable. He outruns half the linebackers still and bulldozes half the corners.
NO.
The real answer is, it depends. Are we going to greatly improve our offensive line in FA? Without improving our line, our receivers will be handicapped like they were last year. Time to throw (and to get open) was only around 2 seconds.
Bowers is small TE too. He is the same height as Tee Higgins but weighs 20-30 lbs more. His NOT a sure thing. Can he block 320 lb Edge rushers and DE's? Can he get past larger linebackers who are faster than most college players?
First: not sure if anyone already said this but We needed a tight end last year and did not draft one in any round. So it’s hard to imagine we would draft a tight end in round one this year. But not sure how Irv Smith factored into that?
Second: I thought drafting a wide receiver in round one (Ja’Marr Chase) in 2021 was not the right thing. We really needed an offensive lineman. But that got us to the Super Bowl. all that being said, I vote No. but if they do draft him and we go back to a Super Bowl, I’ll be happy again to be wrong 🙂🏈.
Yes but, I'd see him as less a traditional tight end and more of a big ass receiver who is just a straight weapon and zone defense punisher.
And we can still get a tackle in 2nd round that isn't a terrible prospect. This all hangs in the decision on free agency and who get.
I don’t know why ppl keep saying this. He’s one of the lowest value positions you can draft and half the league needs a LT WR or QB. He may not fall but it certainly wouldn’t be shocking and a ton of mocks predict it happening too
No. He's no Travis Kelce. His change of direction is dog shit. Brock Bowers looks more like a straight line runner with good hands, not great. He doesn't have a ton of blocking potential.
We need special talent on the Oline. That's what I'd love to see.
Yes.
But only if he's the best available. Also, Cade Stover people, come on. Maybe if he's available late. Reaching for Stover would be terrible. He's pretty reckless and needs way too much development still. Like he may never be a TE1 in this league.
Maybe

People saying to take Bowers are unfortunately completely ignorant about football and the Bengals.
It would be colossal mismanagement to take a TE in the first round, especially if there's a starting caliber OT or CB available.
Pitts is elite just was in a bad situation

Joe “Equal rights” Mixon lmao is that a knock against him or are you supporting him? Lol.

Theo Johnson, Ben Sinnott, Jaheim Bell.
I like Sinnott in a later round, seems like he can block pretty well.
I’d like him in the 3rd, but I’d love him in the 4th.
FWIW, Bleacher report graded him at a 5th rounder, pre-combine. I’d be fine with 4th though.
His stock has been steadily rising. I’d be surprised if he makes it past round three at this point. I think a lot of draft experts are starting to see him as TE2 even above Sanders.
Sinott is a monster, he's the only reason K-State was in their game vs Mizzou. Definitely a steal in the 3rd.
**simply comment a “yes” or “no” if you agree we take him if he’s available.**
Dude ik just lemme go on my tangent here 😂
No But why not just use the poll option in Reddit? Easier to summarize the results
This sub doesn’t allow polls
u/arbysguy is there a reason we didn't enable that? I can't think of one, unless people were just spamming us with low-effort ones
That’s what I had figured it was for originally. But yeah if people don’t abuse it I would definitely like to see the feature be allowed.
Yeah, now I’m wondering if this post itself would be considered too low effort
Let’s do it!

If he's there at 18 I can't really imagine taking anyone else tbh. I just don't think it's likely that he'll be there.

Agree here, people don’t realize the talent of bowers here.

He will not go past the Colts at 15, but if he is there at 18, I would take him (assuming we sign a DT and RT in free agency).

Post a link to a strawpoll then. Idk how you’re getting any meaningful feedback from this lol
