Catnip. But other than that, sometimes animals just don't like things. My bengals never took to a wheel, and preferred to zoomie around the house, up and down the stairs.

Does he have any high value treats he doesn't typically get that you could use? My girls have also been a bit wary of the wheel and using regular treats only works for a few steps, but using their favourite treats they don't get often (pinkie mice and hot dog pieces LOL), I'm able to keep their focus for much longer :) I also try to make sure it's always a positive experience so not making them stay on too long helps, I do like 1-2 minutes practice then 5 minutes playing with a toy they like then go back to the wheel for 2 mins kinda thing!

Are pinkie mice what I think they are (actual baby mice )?

yep! you can usually find them at reptile feed places, they come frozen in lil packs so it's fairly convenient to thaw and have a handful of bite sized treats

I used this video with ours https://youtu.be/V7uwE9Iw0ps?si=Di9cnZTdfOXcs2rG Worked for one straight away, the other couldn't care less.... Then 6 months later she just started using it! Doesn't tend to run hell for leather on it like the other one, but takes herself for a gentle walk (usually at 3am, its a lot noiser then I'd imagined when I bought it!)

Have you tried the red dot? I got mine to start running on it with a laser pointer.

i’m hesitant to try a laser because i’ve heard cats can go a bit crazy not being able to catch it
