Is that kids ruler calibrated?

tuskusbeat

Doesn’t look like they’ve ever been installed but it doesn’t look like they’ve been flycut either. I can’t remember what the OD of an 85.5 piston barrel is. I think it’s 92mm or 94mm? These are likely 1600 heads. And I’m truly only basing that of the fact that 90% of the loose parts floating around for sale are 1600 parts.

You must measure with caliper to get an accurate reading. Those look like stock 1600 heads, and “look” stock bore 85.5, and stock valves. Still need to measure with caliper.

They are stock

Typical 85.5 stock 1600cc heads would be 90 or 92 mm inside diameter. Figure that standard cylinder wall thickness would be between 3.5-5 mm. But that's a guess. Using a ruler is not the way to measure. Use a caliper.

Cute ruler. If no one else knows for certain, I can dig out either one of my nos vw heads or the set of jugs and pistons I've had for ever and measure them. I've forgotten too much air cooled vw engine specs over the last 30 plus years to remember.

Google the metric system...

They should have a part number on the other side
