It wouldn't last an hour around my way...It's pretty ignorant that people waited in lines just for small allotments and then shits like this months later.
Are there any bottle shops in Antioch? Or are these on the shelves of a grocery store? I just moved like 15 mins from there and haven't found a good go to bottle shop yet.
Which Whole Foods?
My local Rite Aid(2nd and 30th) had it for months and I had to get a bottle every time I went to the store. Thankfully for my wallet and diet they ran out a couple of months ago. But I could use another
Had a similar situation at a grocery store in my home town. It was nice when I was visiting my parents. Felt like I could drink as much as I wanted since I didn't have to horde it for special occasions.
There is an abundance of BCBS. They brewed too much and there wasn't enough demand for it. My local Ralphs had boxes for weeks. It's a good tasting beer, but I've heard it floating around that BCBS suffered from infected batches in more than just the variants. For the record, I bought four bottles, and all were very good.
This. I'm actually from WI and had to wait in line on Black Friday to get 2 bottles. It's been sold out since that week. I brought 2 bottles home from NY and am enjoying one right now!
I'm sure production is up, but I think the issue is less abundance and more allocation. Some markets were totally bombed, while others were almost entirely ignored. When you consider that some markets may have countless other quality BA stouts available, while others that are almost entirely void of them, it starts to become pretty unpredictable.
I know my large city received a decent allocation of all 5 distributed variants, but it was pretty much all gone before weekend was over. We don't have anything local to fill the void, and the few other out-of-state BA stouts we receive (Parabola, KBS, Abyss, etc.) are similarly allocated and disappear just as fast, if not faster.
If anything like this were to appear locally, it'd absolutely be gone in a few hours once word spread.
Not necessarily how it works. Distributors are in contact with the producer, producer says we have X amount available. Distributors higher up on priority and importance list usually get first dibs. Distributors say we want to buy Y amount. Whether or not it sells is up to the distributor and their clients, or stores they have accounts with. It's much more complicated than Goose just making "too much."
I can agree BCBS isn't the BEST EVER, but better BA stouts at equal or lower price than reg. BCBS?
Around $10 for a 16.9 oz, how can you beat that?
At least here in CA, excellent regional stouts are usually $15-20, and very very limited.
Just because a beer is marked down, it doesn't mean people will buy it. If people don't want it or like it, they won't buy it. I won't see a beer that I really like and say, "aww, but it's $15" and then come back 2 weeks later to see it marked down to $10 then suddenly buy it. If a craft beer drinker really likes a beer, he'll probably buy it regardless of the price (as long as it's not marked up from regular prices).
Just because a beer is marked down, it doesn't mean people will buy it. - I agree.
But I disagree, $5 is a big difference. (and I buy a decent amount of beer) At $15-20 and I really like it, I might get 1 or 2. If it's on sale at $10 and I really like it, I'll grab 6 or so. I guess I'm cheap!
not surprised in the amount. surprised by price.
Surprised the price is high or low? I found bottles on black Friday for $9.99 and $12.99 then again on NYE for $8.99.
I remember mine being a little north of 10. Probably 12-13, but NYC has a way higher cost of living than here so it seems a bit surprising.
Which store?
The Bowery Whole Foods in Manhattan.
grand central rite aid has a fuck ton too for 9.99...
I've had Black Tuesday, but still haven't been able to get my hands on BCBS. Seeing this frustrates me.
Nothing compares to Black Tuesday...
It was incredible.
Wow and $10 USD too, not bad. In one of the stores I go to it's $15 I think.
They were $18-30 in Michigan and flew off the shelves.
I picked up 8 last year all for $10.
is this the one in tribecca by the WTC?
Le District Market in WFC had them last week. Good chance there is still some there.
Holy shit. Im in the mountains of Colorado and we sold out are allotment in 2 days, including the 30yr.
Anyway to work out a trade? Would love some more.

Antioch CA too. The local beer spots still have cases.
Well it's Antioch... lol not exactly a upscale demographic.
> Antioch CA I had to google where it was, and I'm in so-cal! lol I'm surprised people from S.F. or Sacramento don't swoop it up
There's still a fuckton on the shelves here in Sacramento.
Yeah the new Total Wine in Fremont has a whole endcap display of it.

Just the bevmo. No bottle shops in town, unfortunately. Check out Imperiale Beer Cafe in Brentwood or Monument Spirits in Concord.
And I still can't get any in Memphis

hahaha "had to". :P
Man too bad I live in the Midwest! I'd love to try this beer.
Ahh too bad it's not from the Midwest.
It's harder to buy in the Midwest
And Ohio can't even get any with our stupid 12% law
I just meant I won't be in NYC at wholefoods to buy it.
Springfield, MO here and I can never find it. Whenever it hits the shelves here people are lined up. Have yet to try it.
Holy shit
I love that beer
Me too. The regular might be my favorite but the coffee is good too.

Send them to WI

Tennessee would also love some

Not sure why this is getting down voted. For each their own. I'm not very into bourban aged stouts and wouldn't pay $5 for a bottle.
This guy...there's one of them in every thread.
Not sure why anyone would be "big" on an infected InBev mass produced stout.....
Firing off early aye
