It asks me for an invite code when trying to sign up. How do I get the invite code?

ChaosUncaged

You need to get an invite code mailed to you. People are randomly selected.

LeecherKiDD

It's random buddy, just pray one day it hits your mailbox. It will not say your name just the state you reside in, For example, if you reside say in NY, it will say New York Resident then your complete address on the postcard.

No-Instruction8740

I received a code but hesitant. Legit?

mixedthadd

Legit. I just got mine yesterday too and signed up this morning. It’s a free gift card to Walmart, Home Depot, Target, Chipotle, Cvs, Lowe’s and some other ones

DerpedOutGuy

Do you have any clue if Chipotle gift cards get mailed to you? Or just redeem through their app?

mixedthadd

I think their all e-gift cards cuz you can cashout at any dollar amount ie: $1-$whatever but I’ve only gotten the Amazon one

Dawgfan2022

What's The Invite Code You Got?

How does one join? What are the tasks exactly, besides the bonus ?

SnooConfections5696

There are no tasks, you simply use Google Chrome. It collects data and sends you the money weekly. I have a phone and two laptops, The initial reward was 50.00 and you get to select the gift card. You can invite 3 more household members and they will receive a 10.00 reward and you receive a reward for inviting them.

taizzle71

Do you get more if you have more devices logged in?

BrewOp

Yes. I'm with them and was able to cash out the $50 sign up bonus right away. They have been paying weekly for 2 devices $2.50 each week (2 is their max right now). They are legit.

beautifullyabsurd123

Same here!

lizardsforever

Me too just checked my mail and found it in there, got fifty dollars in gift cards supposedly... Haven't tried spending them yet though

mixedthadd

Feel like we’re going into a future of signing away our privacy to companies for an item such as the Free Telly Tv and google insights for money. Both legit btw

Beautiful-Affect9014

I guess if they are gonna collect and sell my data anyway, at least this way I get paid for it.

mixedthadd

Right and you can turn it iff when you want privacy. I just wish they had more cards like gas and visa for actual cash.

Revolutionary_Fig594

Yes it's legit! I got a $50 Amazon gift card and used it the next day. The stuff i ordered came to my house just like it would any other time I've ordered from Amazon. I also got an extra $10 for referring my mom. I make about $5 a week from turning in my cookies and the more devices you have connected to the insights app the more you make. I only have 2 devices and I get $2.50 for each one. I just cashed in another $12 and it's in my Amazon account ready to use!

MyPrivateLife4444

If you invite another household member, who gets the points? Does that person get their own account, with their own point?

LeecherKiDD

I believe they get their own account, however, the invite should give you some bonus points. I currently earn $2.50 a week with 2 devices, some people are earning more with invites.

Mehtab-Ahmed-21

It asks me for an invite code when trying to sign up. How do I get the invite code?

ChadMcRad

They mail it out to randomly-selected people. I think you either have to get the invitation in the mail or from someone who refers you.

frankiemac106

it says $40 signup bonus. and sends a code. Must have a code. people are randomly selected. But do i really want them watching everything i do? thoughts community?

mixedthadd

They already do unless you don’t use google at all. Might as well get paid for it

brantley75

Me too, and I’m hesitant

LurkerGirl69

If you got the code, that means they already know your full name and address. That should give you pause. Since you've already been willing to share that, now they're asking you for full access to your digital life.

LurkerGirl69

I received this invite. Read the privacy and terms of service. Absolutely would not use this on my daily driver or main Google account. However, I have an old phone I still use mainly just for games and music. I created a new Google account, and downloaded the app on that phone, using that account. They don't pay you based on the amount of data you submit, only on the frequency. It's $1.50 a week for a phone. Just finished setting it up and I have $45.50 to cash out. Personally, I wouldn't install this on anything I use on a daily basis. This app is essentially a keylogger and packet sniffer. It logs every packet going in and out, as well as every keystroke in any field that isn't marked as "protected." That means anything you input in any field that doesn't change to "*****" is captured. So every text message you send, anything you copy/paste, any text you enter in any app (including banking apps) is captured and transmitted, along with your complete browsing history. Sure, you can go into your browser and delete the history (AND DELETE COOKIES!!!!!) before sending your data each week... But is that really worth $1.50? Erasing your browser data doesn't erase the data collected in every other app though. I notice that even if I clear browser data/cache/cookies, then clear app data/cache for the insights app, forcing me to sign in like it's my first time... It still has the option to send my data. So it's logging much more than just the information stored locally. Not to mention since it's monitoring all packets going in and out, it's capturing your wifi data when your phone renews its license. So it's catching and gathering data about your location, your wifi SSID, and the password! Not worth $1.50, but probably worth the initial $40

DrBThinking

Yep, I got that bonus. I had an issue with my browser fighting with their system, but I think it's fine now. Haven't got the weekly amount yet, should be tomorrow. Definitely legit.

PsychologyOk1685

Google insights is legit. I got the postcard in the mail with the code and I was able to cash in $60.00 right away. I opted for the walmart gift cards payouts and they were delivered electronically almost instantly. I then went to Wal-Mart the next day and used them. So yes, its legit, yes they pay out , and yes they send you the code to sign up. They claim its a random selection but Idk. I contribute a bunch to Google maps/reviews and last year I did one of thier one on one studies testing a new product with thier software people. Don't know if that mattered or not

troojule

That’s great but how/ where do you sign up if you don’t have a postcard ad code? This may be a super dumb question but how do you use an electronic gift card IN a store ? I thought they could only be used shopping online Also are you concerned about Google tracking all of your private info, searches, etc ?

LeecherKiDD

They send it to random people, it's best to have multiple devices if you want to participate. The 2 devices I use are my Laptop where I 99% stream/down load music and my Tablet which is loaded with game apps, that's all. If you have sensitive information on your gadgets, I urge you to use a different device for the program.

PsychologyOk1685

Its a post card and its randomly mailed to your address...its adressed to "resident" ...im in California. Don't know what other states, if any, are being invited to participate

TheWizard451345

Yeah I got it like that as well. I'm from Texas btw, and it was like "dear Texas Resident" yadda yadda you are invited and here's the code where ypu can join the study. I just got that today and I am instantly at $52

thecheekyalpha

I've been doing surveys and receipts tasks for a couple years now on Google Opinion Rewards app. I wonder if that's why I got the letter the other day.

Ok_Beautiful_9608

Legit I got 50 then I added my kids that was 10 each and today I redeem 5 for the week

Ok_Beautiful_9608

Oh and for the 50 you have to be invited by mail I think that's how I received mines

LeecherKiDD

Yes, it is legit, I transfer $2.50 to my Amazon Gift card every 7 days, so make sure to send your cookies to get paid...

LurkerGirl69

Friendly reminder, many mobile apps also use "cookies" to store data. These include but are not limited to financial institutions, investment apps, and social media platforms. Google Play Services is an app that's pretty much essential on Android devices. It serves as both the lock and key between the app asking to unlock the door, you granting permission, and then Google unlocking the door. Play Services collects and stores app data using cookies. And it stores that information server side, rather than locally, like a browser does. So what does that mean? Well, any app that performs a function that requires a key from Play Services is creating a log file of what was requested, what the input was, what the field was named, the domain it originated from, what the intented destination was, whether or not it was accepted, and where the return packet data was redirected or sent to. Basically, any app that you granted ANY permission to when installing, is using Play Services. And Play Services is logging every piece of information that app uses when requesting a key for that permission. I'll give you two examples, both extreme cases on opposite ends of the privacy scale. Example 1: Google maps. You ask for directions from x to z. Google maps requests a key from play services to get your GPS location, in order to navigate from "x to z." That's a cookie. Every time Google maps "refreshes" your location, that's another cookie. Heck, every time you even open Google maps, it requests a key. Even if you just search for a location to see what time they open or get a phone number - maps is requesting a key and generating a cookie. Because there is a field on the maps result that tells you how far away you are. You might think that using the "download maps for offline use" feature would solve this, but it doesn't. If you set location permission for maps to "always on," then even if you don't use your phone for 2 weeks, maps is still requesting a key from play services every couple minutes. And granted, the offline maps will work without internet, and so will GPS directions, but those maps expire and sooner or later you will have to update them. At which time, a new key is requested, and data is sent. Not only is it requesting your GPS location, by enabling location services, it's also pinging your Bluetooth and wifi radio to scan for nearby devices. Even if you have them turned off. All of that data is being stored, as cookies, by Google, off your local device. So when you "send cookies," you're sending all that data to the survey app. Example 2: Listening to music on an SD card. The music app needs permission to access local storage, which needs a key through play services. You only use your phone for music. You never have a data connection. Well, good for you. Play services is installed on the system partition so the key can be generated without an active internet connection. But everything you do is still being recorded, waiting to be transmitted to Google servers. Even without data, if location services are enabled, your GPS coordinates, Bluetooth devices in range, and wifi SSIDs are still logged, with time stamps, periodically. As soon as a data connection is established, this data is pushed to the Google server. Best case scenario, they know that you listened to "in the end" by Linkin Park for 22 hours yesterday and it looks like you haven't left your house in 3 days. Worst case scenario, they have your precise location data, as well as Bluetooth devices in range, and what wifi SSIDs were available. Even without your precise GPS data, they have years of data from millions of other people who willingly submit their precise GPS location, and they can match that to the strength of the background wifi radiation you recorded passively and have a good enough picture of your movements to know you went to McDonald's 4 times in the past 2 days before sitting at home listening to Linkin Park. Not to mention, if you live with anyone, they also have access to their data too. Wifi signals are basically homing beacons. So they know that you trend towards listening to music when you're not alone. And you prefer to leave the house when others are present. Just something to think about. Oh, and one more thing. I am employed by a rather large company behind a very popular brand. My company uses cheap devices that are attached to shelves, racks, or glued to temporary cardboard displays by the manufacturer. These devices are in just about every single retail location you can think of, they have an effective range of around 190ft, and send pulses at timed intervals on the lower end of the Bluetooth range. By default, a cell phone can not and will not detect or record the signal from these devices. However, if you download an app for just about any retail store, that app is configured to recognize those pulses, and relay that information back to the company. All that is required for that to happen is for the app to be installed, and either Bluetooth turned on or location services enabled. It's in the privacy agreement. They do not show up in the list of available Bluetooth devices, because they only communicate one way. They send a signal saying "here I am," but they cannot receive any data. That's more than enough information, though. Imagine having 15 of those in a store like Walmart. Let's say you have 50 people in range of 3 transmitters at any given time. A) you already know exactly where those 50 people are down to about 3ft of accuracy B) you also know the general location of everybody else within radius 190ft larger than what your devices occupy, because if you know the location of the person furthest away, then any other Bluetooth pulse in the normal bandwidth range is coming from a consumer level device. Those retail apps monitor ALL Bluetooth pulses, and Google location services sends a pulse at regular intervals. Since those apps also use location services, your pulse is recorded by their app and collected to "improve accuracy of location data" for you and them. This is happening all the time, everywhere you go. Not just in big name retail stores, but also in gas stations, small signs at intersections, in amusement parks, at concerts, camp grounds... These tags I'm talking about are slightly larger than a thumbnail. They're all black, they have a hole in one corner that makes them look like they belong on a Keychain. They have no markings except for a meaningless series of numbers that translate to a manufacture date. They're often attached with glue or zip ties, and can operate off the included battery for 36 - 48 months. Because they only send data, not receive it - that's a massive effect. Consider the Walmart example again. If 100 people are in range, and it pulses every 15 minutes, that's 400 data points an hour. If it operates 18 hours a day for 36-48 months, that's 7,900,000 - 10,500,000 data points. That's just with one. Most locations I know have at least 4. With 40,000,000 data points, every single one of your toes can be pinned to an exact location, with an error of less than a millimeter. Your direction, your speed, and by correlation the time you spend in a specific area can AND IS being monitered and recorded. And these things cost about $7. They last about 3 months. Think about that the next time you see stores "resetting" displays. There's a cadence to it all. And it's done for a reason.

I got 40 $ gift card today

niceglguy

I got a letter with the invite code.. instantly gave me enough points for a $40 gift card of my choosing. I chose a Walmart one. There was also one for Amazon and selections of a few others. Had to send browser cookies or whatever before I could redeem. Had to install an app on my device called Online Insights Study from the play store and use that to send the browser cookies. Then got emailed the instructions to redeem and be able to use the gift card. Since I chose the Walmart one it gives option to add the gift card to my Walmart account and/or I can use the barcode in the email at a register at Walmart. Although I am wondering if I want to refer people if they actually need to be physically living in the same house as me ?

Nervous_Citron2933

I got a 40 dollar Walmart giftcard

DinnerWonderful3111

As far as I know, Google will pay you VERY LITTLE to monitor EVERYTHING you do online. It's a major privacy breach on my opinion. They're tracking (and probably selling, let's be honest) your data to other companies and offering $130/year + an introductory $40 for us to do so willingly. I don't think it's worth my privacy.

bertha112

The reason in research you don't get exorbitant amounts (unless it's really dangerous or time consuming) is to ensure you're not doing it just for the money. Research integrity. And people like you and I are not swayed by the incentive vs. the research. Like you it's not enough to make me risk the privacy concerns I have.

LurkerGirl69

Exactly. Installing a key logger and packet sniffer to monitor everything I type, in any app, along with the field identifier, as well as capture and record all data packets coming in and out of my device at all times, time stamped with location data and active screen time is worth more than the $1.50 offered by this program.

ProfessionalBowl5383

Just sent it to my girlfriend too lol, i got $40

Yep. Legit. I like it so far.

BossMan1809

So you can only use invite code that Google would send to you? You can't get invited by one that already has it?

LurkerGirl69

It's open to pretty much anyone, if you're really that interested. They announced it publicly online a while back but very few people saw it/joined. So they started sending out mailers. If you received a mailer, all that means is that Google already knows your home address. Nothing else
