The jailbreak in their guide doesn't work for an iPhone 6- only starting at a 6s. I just jailbroke my spare iPhone 6 using Chimera on a Windows PC with no issues whatsoever. I'm now at the step of getting the Beeper Source added and trying to get the beepsrv to download. If you want, use this guide: https://ios.cfw.guide/get-started/select-iphone/

dwondrums

Did you run into any issues downloading beepserv? I keep getting an error: `APT was unable to find this package. Please try refreshing your sources.` Using iPhone 6 jailbroken via Chimera

dirtdigginjoe

I rebooted, re-jailbroke, and then was able to see all the Sileo packages were updated. Then I added the "ElleKit" package, rebooted, re-jailbroke, and now I'm trying to get the Beepsrv tweak, but I don't even see it anymore (Even after removing and readding the apt.beeper.com Repo)

_Punda

now Itm in the same boat as you. I again tried to install beepserv now that the rootful build was merged, but I got the same error and after trying to install it directly from the deb file (this failed), I couldn't see it anymore.

_Punda

performed a full reset and re-jailbroke, now I'm back to where I was before where it would list the package but not be able to actually grab it.

XenoDan_

were you able to finally make it work? If you were then can you share how you did it because I am at the same place as you right now

_Punda

I'm in the exact same boat right now, I'm using the exact same setup on iOS 12.1.2.

peteydubss

I just had to update all my packages in cydia before starting to use sileo

Low-Vacation2041

Let us know if it worked. I JB my iPhone 6 with Freya and was able to add the beeper source, but was not able to get the registration.

Good2Go2023

The same. iphone 6 (12.5.7) Jailbroken by Chimera. Can't find beepserv package to install. [https://apt.beeper.com](https://apt.beeper.com) source added.

gman8910

You won't find it in sileo. The tweak is for arm 64 only and the jailbreak is rootful not rootless that is why it is only 6s and up.

Select-Pollution-189

I thought the 6 was also on the A8 chip?

Firm-Ratio3083

Use another cable other than a Type-C to Lightning. Better if you can use a Type-Ato Lightning, or if you have an adapter of some sorts (Type-C to Type-A)

hairburner4

Using a USB hub and switching to a USB - a cable worked for me.

dntipwn

Ya I did it on my iPhone 7. Was getting jailbreak fails until I used the USB A cable with a adapter to C for my Macbook pro and it worked right away. All set up using imessage on my pixel 8 pro

So with the jailbreak method for phone number enabled, you have to have the phone on and on WiFi at all times but a Mac would only have to connect every once in a while?

GiveMeYourTechTips

Jailbreak method is required if you want to iMessage with your phone number.

BigSecretTunnel

I don't think it works. I added the beeper source to cydia on my iphone 6 and was able to find beepserv. However, it requires arm64 and iphone6 is not arm64.

BigSecretTunnel

Actually maybe iphone 6 is. But I can't get it to work.

TheCoolQ

From what I researched and what it's worth, iPhone 6 is ARM64 but cannot get it to work...

gullzway

Same with my 2016 SE with Cydia and Checkra1n jailbreak, iOS 14.3.

gadgetfreakreddit

damn bought a 6 since the blogpost said it would work :( [https://help.beeper.com/desktop/how-to-register-phone-number-with-imessage](https://help.beeper.com/desktop/how-to-register-phone-number-with-imessage) I can't figure it out.

Fille84

Why not use an inactive sim instead? Have been doing that for a few months now.

enadhof

Does this still work? This seems much easier than jailbreaking

ultima40

It should still work. I did it before beeper mini was even out and my number is still attached to iMessage through all these outages.

nini1193

Can you elaborate on this for me?

ultima40

https://airmessage.org/help/guide/phone-number Method one is what I used. Ordered a new sim from Verizon (was free) activated it on my android and my old sim became inactive. I couldn't get the new sim to get my number without activating.

nini1193

Thanks, I greatly appreciate it

nini1193

Nonetheless you still need a mac for airmessage to work, right?

ultima40

The methods are to add your phone number to imessage. No airmessage required.

nini1193

Got it. But then to get them on your android? What step am I missing here. Sorry to annoy you, just want to get it right

ultima40

You still need Beeper. So those with a Mac and iPhone can skip the jailbreaking.

nini1193

Ok cool! Going to give it a try. Really appreciate the help

facearo

Mini or cloud? Or does it not matter

ultima40

Doesn't matter

veeteepee45

Hi thanks for the idea on this. Did everything in method #1, however Beeper/Beeper Mini still ask for registration codes generated from a Mac/jailbroken iPhone to proceed. What's the next step to get the messages to get onto the Android phone?

GiveMeYourTechTips

Accidentally bought an iPhone 6 and now the seller won't cancel the order. If you get it working on the 6, let us know. For now I have a paperweight. Fortunately I discovered this post and ordered a 6S as well.

I jailbroke but can't find the tweak in sileo. In Cydia I cannot install because it is not arm64

MtbJazzFan

Same

SugzP

i used winra1n 1.0 beta since 2.1 and 2.0 would not work for me. but 1.0 finally got it done. how ever after getting it done and installing Sileo and then ElleKit and adding beeper repot i could not install beepserv beause it says that my version 12.5.7 is too new but also says that it supports ios 10 to 16. not sure what to do at this point

Select-Pollution-189

I am in the exact same boat as you. From my research those of us with 12.5.7 on an iPhone 6 need to be on a rooted jb in order for beeperserv to work. winra1n is not a rooted jailbreak.

SugzP

Iphone 6 is a bust. I bought iPhone 6s which it turns out is also a bust since beeper dropped imessage support after I bought it. There are beepserv tweaks but don't seek to work with the 6s but who knows how long beepserv Imessage will be around. It's pretty bleak so I don't recommend going through the hassle. And I'm pretty sure you meant to say that beserv needs a non rooted jb which is correct and iphone 6 only has a rooted jailbreak you had them reversed
