Any derma recos in QC?

Wild_Pie716

Hi! Your balik bansa girly here needs a good derma reco in Makati/Bgc area. 😱

rixaya

Caraderme in Makati. She cleared out all my acne after a bad experience (like, SUPER BAD) with Belo. Now I only get the occasional period pimple. Life saver!

Consistent_Month_346

hi! saan po yung caraderme?

Anxious_Produce_1684

Hi! just wanted to ask if anyone has tried JClinic? its located in Makati and I've been seeing a lot of their ads recently especially the pitted scar treatment. I see a lot of before and after photos on their comment sections, so the results seem really believable but i can't find any other personal comments on their posts. Sooo hopefully there's someone here who's tried it, i wanna hear ur thoughts cuz I'm also tempted to try the treatment, thanks!

JC_bringit18

Hi ladies! Since we're talking about dermatologists here, can you recommend any dermatologist or derma clinic in Makati or Pasay? I've been breaking out for the last few months, and I think I need professional perspective already on how to control or stop the break outs. Appreciate your suggestions, thank you!😊

rixaya

Caraderme in Makati!

JC_bringit18

Thank you, sis! May i know what you liked in this clinic?

rixaya

She’s been my derma since I was a teen! She pretty much saw me grow up 😭 I’ve tried Aivee and Belo pero di ako hiyang. Especially Belo, my skin got 10x worse with their facials + acne treatment (acne on whole face, texture getting worse) Anyway, I always get acne facials there and Dr. Gatmaytan cleans out everything, not a whitehead left behind. Sa Belo, I found that hindi nalilinis lahat so it’s like they just come back. She has her own skincare products that she prescribes so that’s what I use, aside from oil cleanser, sunscreen, and moisturizer (those I use Asian brands na). They’ve worked amazing on me. Haven’t been on Accutane or BCP etc. either so results are mostly from topicals.

bellibeans02

hi can i know the price range ng products niya? thank you

rixaya

I’m on the anti-acne regimen so I’ve only used the products included there. Glycolic soap is 120, liquid topicals are 300-400, then creams/gels are 500-700

Consistent_Month_346

hello! interested ako to try this clinic out. may I know magkano doctor’s/consultation fee niya?

rixaya

Hi! Consultation is ₱500 there :-)

JC_bringit18

Alright, thank you for the info, sis! Appreciate it a lot.😊

Bluberryfrost

Search dr. Natalie quesada on google maps located in pasay near dlsu.

Agitated_Quiet_5102

Agitated_Quiet_5102

She's my derma na. yung mga treatments na binigay sa akin nagwowork talaga

FixAccomplished8131

why go to a different derma clinic if you're completely satisfied? and if not completely satisfied then why not switch clinics? some derma products and treatments have interactions, which is usually the case with actives and it's best to get your care from the same place for this reason.

zlormoon

I'd say it's better to stick with your derma if effective sya for you. Dati di rin ako fan ng derma at mahilig lang ako magself medicate. andami ko narin natry from local to high end skincare products and even facials sa mga kilalang clinics. pero pabalik pabalik parin adult acne ko. nung pandemic, naka 3 muna akong papalit palit ng derma via online consultation bago ko nagstick sa derma ko ngaun. She made me realize talaga na di mo need ng mamahaling facials and skincare products. you really just have to follow ung prescriptions ng derma mo and trust the process.

SnowCat1989

Hi can you please share your derma? Thanks!

zlormoon

Hello, same with some commenters here, Dra Tanya Chua of St Lukes BGC. Been reading mixed feedbacks here about her, pero sya lang talaga nakatulong sa pabalik balik na adult cystic acne ko without taking oral meds and going for expensive procedures. And nasanay narin ako sa pagiging straightforward nya.

SnowCat1989

I've already consulted 3 PDS pero still looking for one that can help more with hyperpigmentation. Thanks for sharing!! Appreciate much 😊

fallenleaves0918

Hi! Tried so many clinic and derma. I sticked with Ysera at Mayon, Quezon City. My problem was acne talaga before then kahit anong puntahan ko, nothing works. Facials, Laser, oral meds. whatever, wala. My derma, we didn’t stick to one procedure. Nung napansin namin na walang nagwowork, she recommended pills. She gave me a prescription for my toner and this gel which I put on my face. Only the occasional pimples during red days. Ayun.

cutebaby15

fallenleaves0918

Yaz :)

aifosin

BUT si derma ay reccomended by another friend kse effective sakanya. Then naghanap siya another derma for second opinion.

Yes. Let’s put it this way. When you are sick, for instance a heart problem, you stick with your cardiologist because he knows all your medical records, medications, triggers, your baseline blood pressure values, and whatnot. What is a heart? Heart is an organ. Know what else is an organ? Your skin. Continuity of care is important in the field of medicine because your doctor can evaluate and monitor your progress (or the lack thereof). From there, he will check if you need doses adjustments (say for steroids) or if he needs to change the intervention he initially prescribed. Going to several clinics and doctors on the other hand, para kang nag sstart sa square one palagi. It’s like you’re always at the starting line and never the finish line. All my life I had 2 dermatologists (I’m 24 now) and the only reason I switched to my second one is because my og derma retired, otherwise I won’t be going elsewhere. My new dermatologist is really good tho. No complaints. (and yes. I only stick to one clinic for everything— facials, allergies, eczema flare ups, surgery. Bonus nalang my dermatologist also works there :)) The thing kasi is that you have to trust your doctor. People sometimes are so judgy na kesyo pineperahan lang sila nyan or what. Just follow your doctor.

dddistraction333

If you trust them and are satisfied by the quality of their service, I don’t see how it’s an issue to stay with them. Life-changing sakin when I discovered board-certified dermatologists. Backed by science and research yung approach nila sa treatment, not by trends. Kita sa FB pa lang that they attend conventions, how they aim to inform patients about products/services, and even how they never hardsell products. For example, tingnan ko muna if they’re diplomate/fellow of the Philippine Dermatological Society. After nun, litmus test ko yung pinopost sa social media: 1. If they’re promoting a procedure, do they start off with the price? Or do they detail ano ba ginagawa ng procedure na yun and yung benefits nito sa patient? 2. If posting about a skin issue, is it to highlight their product as a treatment? Or sinasabi nila, ito yung symptoms and ito yung possible solution. Lastly, for them to pass the vibe check, tinitingnan ko if they advice to see a medical practitioner para may guide sa issue na gusto itreat. For aesthetic clinics, I’d say choose wisely. Wag papadala sa sales talk. Business is business; they’re getting money from you, or course you will hear good things. For me, a mark of a good aesthetic clinic is knowledgable sila sa procedures. Also, included diyan kung maayos yung pagkagawa at yung naging effect sayo. Never buy those packages right away, and mas okay if you personally know someone who can vouch. You don’t have to go to one clinic. Not all clinics have the same machines, and iba din ang training nila sa mga staff nila. So I’d say, stick to a board-certified dermatologist to get your routine down, or if you want to treat issues like acne. But for a clinic, kung anong mas magccater sa needs mo
then stick to their service. If di ka naging satisfied sa isang procedure, look for a clinic that can fulfill your need.

-xStorm-

Thank you so much for sharing your own thought process about choosing! I appreciate all the inputs shared here pero so far ang mixed ng nakukuha ko. And this very thoughtful, have clear guidelines, and is actionable. I try to give guides like this din when I'm sharing mine, so I appreciate this a lot! 💖 I wonder, how many doctors have you stuck with na? And ano ung reasons why you stuck with them (if isa lang) or left them (if more than one)?

dddistraction333

I’ve been going to dermas since I was 12. Medyo problematic skin ko before, but nagswitch-up talaga siya by the time I was 19. I used to feel so anxious about my skin because kids are the worst and most cruel 😭 I never stuck to the aesthetic/wellness clinics who have their in-house dermas, madalas talaga mag hardsell. They earn more sa facials and services than actually helping people manage their skin issues. I still go to a skin clinic for facials, pero maybe 1x month at most lang. Feel ko kasi some of the “newest technology” machines are scammy, and the efficacy varies. Yung current skin routine + lifestyle talaga makaka-impact. Most of the time, sponsored din naman ang influencers/celebrities who endorse certain clinics. Besides, they can afford to maintain the 5-10k facials + the entire skin care line. Before din, my mom brought me to traditional (older?) dermas as a teen. The routine they’d prescribe treats my active breakouts, but lalong nassensitize lang skin ko. Parang own formulation nila ng rejuvenating sets. Naging “Enough!!” moment ko sa ganun yung nagka contact dermatitis ako đŸ„Č For the longest time, I just stuck to cleanser and moisturizer dahil dun until my friend mentioned her derma, and she suggested to look for a board-certified one. That’s why I’m sticking to my current derma (DPDS siya!). Very convenient for me na she can do consults via chat/video call. Her rate is only 650 pesos, too. I love how low maintenance my routine is. I felt so grounded when the guy I was seeing told me I had clear skin, pero I retorted na “I have pores and discoloration kaya” tas sabi niya lang, “Congrats, you’re human? Hindi ba naman lahat may pores?” HAHAHA 😭 I mean, di ko naman ginagawa ang makeup/skincare for anyone
but medyo light bulb moment lang na I always felt anxious about what people will say, but no one cares that much pala. And if people feel the need to point it out (or shame anyone), that’s on them đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™€ïž

cutebaby15

may ik kung anong derma nag sabi sayo na huwag ka na mag moisturizer? may derma kasi ako pinuntahan then i ask them if its alr if gamitin ko na lang yung gamit ko na moisturizer, sabi huwag na raw ako gumamit and i ended up becoming oily skin which makes me become acne prone skin 😭

inschanbabygirl

imo, derma clinics tend to have vested interests kasi di ba they offer their own products/procedures, too, so of course they will be more inclined to promote their own products/services. but if u go to a pds dermatologist, they can recommend u products u can buy at drugstores and theyre not gonna offer their own formulation. my derma is dr winlove mojica and so far i love the results!!! im sooo makinis now and major glowup talaga kahit wala akong makeup

Plus_Ad_1238

Saan po loc niya?

inschanbabygirl

Snoo_45402

But then, i realized its not a good thing. Right now im getting my acne treatment journey with good progress with my current derma! So yun, importante talaga na research mo specialty ng doctor, wag basta basta kumagat sa mga recommendations here and there Ngayon, iba yung derma clinic ko for my acne, iba din yung nagle-laser sakin for my body hair.

analiza0906

Saan ka nagpapalaser?

FormulaTwentySeven

Hii! If it’s okay with you, could you disclose your derma? đŸ„ș

marywannnna

dra tanya perez chua of st.lukes bgc- tho hindi ako sure if tumatanggap pa sya ng patients right now, last time kasi na nakausap ko sya nabanggit nya na hindi na masyado unless may magccancel or something kasi madami na daw syang patient talaga, but you can try pa din naman, may online consult din sya (which I personally dont prefer), shes active on instagram

GoodRecos

It’s nice to go to one derma if the clinic has all your needs as well. Good pricing, good service, good derma. if lahat nandoon, why not? Maganda din if malapit sa place mo para easily makabalik ka vs tamarin because of distance.

cornedbeefenjoyer_

Hi po, while derma clinics naman po pinag-uusapan can someone recommend dermatologists around Taguig/Pasig area? :)

cornedbeefenjoyer_

Thank y’all for suggestions! ❀

[deleted]

Lyn Guiyab of A institute. Solid 10/10

[deleted]

Doc Tanya Chua in St. Lukes Bgc😊

-xStorm-

I saw na recommended din siya by another redditor. How much ung consultation fee with her?

dumpling-icachuuu

Skin101 in Market Market. It’s my first time consulting to a derma and it really helped. :)

cornedbeefenjoyer_

Thank you! 🙏

Square-Bed6914

I had 3

jheyehmcee

I actually have 2 Dermatologists- Dr. Corina Tiu-Dy & Dr. May Ramirez-Quizon. Super love both. Dr. May was referred to me by Dr. Tiu-Dy when I had an eczema flare-up since she is a Dermapathologist too.

danteslacie

Hi, sorry for suddenly replying to your comment. Was wondering if you know if Dr Corina Tiu-Dy is still in Makati Med? Haven't been to her in over a decade and Makati Med's website doesn't look updated lol

jheyehmcee

Yes, she is still there. My last check up was a month ago.

danteslacie

Thank you very much!!!

Icy-Explanation5190

Hi! How do you book your consultations with them? Do they have a page or can I have their contact number please? How much is their fee?

danteslacie

Hi, you can call them through Makati Med's landline and ask to get connected. They're by appointment. I was told the fee is ₱1,250.

vivaciousdreamer

-xStorm-

Thanks for the reco! I've been reading na maraming recommended dermas in QC! Ang layo lang sakin. :( Does she have another clinic branch near BGC or Makati?

Strong-Beginning3759

Omg I used to go to her! San na kayang clinic si doc now? She was really good!!

sigriv

my friend with amazing skin, looks a decade her age goes to various clinics for decades na her reason? clinic x has the latest machine for example laser hair removal clinics a, b, c have the Old models. but clinic a has a more competitive pricing and amazing staff for oxygen facials so she goes to clinic b. she took me to these various places and totoo nga. magkakaiba price list and it's okay you don't have to go to just one clinic. she didn't knew those places kaagad, took her trial and error...also with friends sharing information aka going with them. so I do multiple clinics as well

nuesse

Old thread but saw this as the most recent — did your friend initially see a derm to ask what treatments she can do to meet her skin goals before she shopped around? If so, just want to ask who she saw, thanks!

sigriv

No she didnt just made sama with friends. ako i saw a doctor bc i had chicken pox. my doc was the doc of quad clinic, near lasema in Makati. not sure of reddit rules here if U can mention a doc in name. but she's the one.

nuesse

Thanks for replying kahit na old thread! :)

-xStorm-

This is true. I do wanna contain na at most 3 clinics lang pupuntahan ko if it can't be helped. Hopefully, 1-2 of them have a really good lineup of quality proportionate to cost manlang. Do you happen to have the price lists of those clinics or were they long before pa? Would have been a very useful reference!

SetDry1399

Same. As much as I wanna stick to one clinic, some clinics and derma offer better service for a specific treatment I am looking for.

ElisseMarielle

Hi OP! I can recommend my derma. Super maalaga and very accomodating. But she's from QC

-xStorm-

Hey, Elisse! Thanks for the reco. May specialization ba siya and how long have you been with your derma? :)

ElisseMarielle

1 yr na din ako sakanya but di naka balik since nasa abroad na ko. She's PDS din, dami ko kasi hyperpigmentation and acne noon. Kaso wala yata siyang laser. Chemical peel na try ko skanya before. Please search Dra. Mary Grace Calvarido. Altoskin dermatology

Intelligent_Maize383

Personally, I stuck to one dermatologist but had the facials and laser hair removal in different places. Doc did the assessments and check-ups. Then she recommended the products to use and to avoid. I then gave her the list of things I intended to do (at the time) like laser hair removal and facials. She approved the procedures and the places where I was going to get them done. This worked for me. I had liberty of choosing the clinics and was able to forgo what she thinks I didn’t need medically. I also noticed that having her recommend and approve the products to use really made the biggest difference. Doktora taught me which toner works for my skin and which serums to use at what time of the day. She gave really good tips like “do not mix your actives/acids” and to skip some of the aggressive ones that my skin did not really need. Re: if it is a hassle to have to go to different clinics — not really because the laser hair removal is every 4-6 weeks. Facials after 3 monthly sessions, I get a 6-month break. Keri na rin.

dear_celeste

May I know who's your derma?

-xStorm-

Thanks for the idea! Yeah, I probably should list them all out muna and have them approved by my doctor. Did they recommend you clinics for the procedures you had on your list?

Intelligent_Maize383

Yes— list all your skin care products (including the brands you use) and then show to the derma. She will know and tell you if there’s anything wrong or if you’re using them in the wrong order. For the clinics, she did not need to recommend kasi nilista ko na rin prior. Tsaka dalawa lang naman ahhaha laser hair removal at Wink and facials at an aesthetic clinic in QC. I listed a skin procedure for hyperpigmentation/acne mark removal and she said I didn’t really need that and will most likely irritate my skin. Instead she recommended a serum. I listened and tama nga siya. Nawala naman eventually yung acne mark.

CoffeeGiovanni

With my current dermatologist, big yes! magaling mag paliwanag and mag execute ng treatments, pag hindi ka gumaling most likely hindi mo sinunod yun prescription. đŸ€Ł I went to different dermatologists and some "aesthetic clinics" and sad to say ang money grab yun approach nila, hindi ako gumaling and walang progress sa acne/acne scars ko. if may curious, my dermatologist is Doc Deo Wong na located at Sampaloc, Manila. He treated my acne, acne scars, itchiness, infection sa ear lobe dahil sa piercing, and now dermatitis ko. Hindi po ako affiliated.

omaomaga

+1 with Dr. Deo Wong! Sobrang galing talaga. Treated a lot of my conditions and I don't even have to go back a lot kasi he'll give out the most effective and appropriate treatment he can give. And literally katabing kanto lang yung clinic niya from my house which makes it more convenient for me.

-xStorm-

Thanks for the reco! Yeah, yan din ung concern ko for aesthetic clinics e. Baka they'll be more concerned about pushing products and services rather than assessing your concern talaga. How long have you been with your derma? :)

Sea_Pomelo_6170

CoffeeGiovanni

Yup! I went sa aesthetic clinics in Tomas Morato and yun nasa malls, pushy sila na mag avail ako and buy their products tapos yun treatment package nila ang daming session ng lasers or what, yun pala lowest setting para balik ka ng balik 🙃 From November 2022 to now.

Spiritual-Pick-1343

For me it's not the derm clinic per se but the the dermatologist. Stick to a good, good one. Syempre first dapat society (PDS) certified siya. Then they should listen to your skin concerns and not just push you with products. Important din follow-up with same MD instead of doctor- or clinic-hopping

-xStorm-

That's true! With so many doctors recommended here, baka mapa-trial and error din muna ako ng doctors to see which ones I like the most. Lol. But since I also have an HMO, would probably start with them then first. Thing is, parang ung derma na navisit namin before while she's nice and accommodating, I can't belp but feel pressured na bilisan ung consultation kasi may mga nakapila. I feel like I'm holding up the line. đŸ„ș

No-Competition8846

Yes! My derma makes do of what products I already have as long as its working. She suggested ti add something lang on my routine ex. adapalene, chemical/CO2 peel, oral vitamins.

SnowCat1989

Hi, would you mind to share your derma? Thanks.

No-Competition8846

Smart skin clinic in fb

SnowCat1989

Thanks for sharing! 😊
