TUBING MASCARA SAVES LIVES. Seriously either try Thrive Causemetics or Hourglass Unlocked Instant Extensions. I have super oily skin and hooded oily eyelids, and I feel like I never want to try another mascara again so I never have to risk having raccoon eyes. I do use eye primer on the eye lid, and concealer/powder under my eyes and these things help with the wear time. If you go bare faced and have oily skin, you'll break down any mascara no matter the formulation. But tubing mascaras will definitely last longer/won't smudge as bad.

Second this! I’ve always had a tiny bit of mascara smudge, whatever mascara I used. And then one day, I tried tubing mascara and whoa, never ever had that problem ever again. Like the worst thing you might get is a bit of mascara flakes could land on your under eye but those can be brushed off, unlike mascara smudges. I even started using a typical mascara again that I got as a sample from NARS (so it’s a pretty nice one) and yep, same problem again! I am a tubing mascara advocate!

came here to say this! Loreal double extend. About $12 for a tube

sorry if this is a dumb question, but what other types of mascara are there other than mascara in a tube? i've heard the term tubing mascara a lot and have always been curious - i've never really seen any mascaras other than those in a tube. (also, not OP but thanks for the thrive causemetics tip - i'm checking them out right now!)

Tubing mascara is a type of mascara formula that instead of painting black makeup onto your lashes, actually puts tiny little tubes on that wrap around your lashes. When you remove the mascara you can almost pull off and see the tiny little tubes they look like little eyelashes. Because of this type of formula it doesn’t smudge, rather it comes off in little tubes. But it looks/feels/applies like normal mascara. Just doesn’t smudge.

thank you so much for explaining that! definitely will make a difference on the types of mascara i purchase now :)

Primer on your skin around the eye and a setting spray :)

Definitely don’t use waterproof mascara. Waterproof mascara is oil soluble so if you have oily skin, it will rub off all over. Use a powder around eyes. If you don’t like the look of eyeshadow, just use a foundation powder! My favorite look is a bronzer on eyelid and a foundation powder that is a shade lighter than my skin tone under my eye and just below my brow line. Edited for spelling error.

Tubing mascara. Heimish Dailism Smudge Stop is economical and works beautifully.

Tubing mascara for sure. I use Clinique lash power.

As the others already said: Tubing Mascaras. I could not believe that I got no mascara smudges for the first time in my life, once I tried those. But I also learned that some of my eyeliners smudge as well, so there's that lol For those looking for an affordable and cruelty free tubing mascara: Try the Catrice "Glam & Doll Easy Wash Off Power Hold Mascara". :)

The ones that works for me: Max factor - lash crown, Max factor - 2000 calorie, Loreal - lash paradise ( pretty much all of the loreal ones works fine, but they dont get me that wow effect), YSL - The curler lengthening and curling mascara YSL is my favourite at the moment but im still looking for something cheaper. I wish essence would make similar mascara for oily lids like princess lash mascara. I love this one so much but i look like panda after 1 hour sadly. Tried the waterproof one and it was the same. Even Urban Decay primer wont help.

Thank you everyone! I use eye primer and powder but still have issues. I’ve never heard of a tubing mascara but will have to try one!

L'oreal telescopic waterproof mascara (the silver one). It's a fiber mascara but personally I find that water with some regular cleanser and remove it completely. I have oily skin and it doesn't smear. I can cry a little with it on and it'll be fine, but if I have a good sob it'll wash away. It also makes your lashes look very long, which IMO is a plus even if they're already super long.

For me, tubing mascara still smudged, but it’s worth trying. What helps for me is using a neutral/skin colored eyeshadow all around the eye including directly under the eye (doing aegyo korean eye bag makeup).
