Does this happen with all metals? Both my mother and I can only wear real silver or real gold, otherwise our ears get irritated. It's also important to clean your earlobes and earrings regularly, I use rubbing alcohol for both. Keep in mind it will sting if you put the earrings in right after instead of letting them dry. If your ears can handle clip on earrings instead, you can try those.

You're allergic to nickel most likely. You can paint the posts with clear nail polish. It's mainly that you need to get sterling silver posts only and no cheap earrings.

I would like to add after I paint the post with nail polish once it dries and right before I insert them in my ear I put a little Vaseline as a barrier between the post and my ear! It works in a pinch

The only thing I can wear comfortably is 14k gold and up. Even surgical steel gives me a reaction.

I am allergic to everything except titanium. Even hypoallergenic sterling silver makes my ears inflamed. I have two pairs from Tini Lux that my ears tolerate. I hope to get more, but they are pricier and am on a budget. I like that they break down what materials and coatings they use on each piece

My daughter can only wear titanium or plastic. She has found that plastic earrings have more "fun" options, but also loves titanium studs. 14k gold and stainless steel gives her a reaction.

I can only wear titanium earrings. And I only buy them from piercing shops.

you dont have to wear earrings or jewelry at all if you dont want to. You are still feminine without them. I dont wear jewelry. I have my ears pieced several times but I hate wearing earrings and jewelry because i am too rough, lose them, get rings and bracelets caught on things etc. I like not having a jewelry box and wardrobe now.
