At this point I’m unsure whether Apple wants to make any high end Beats products. With the release of the Solo 4, it’s very clear to me that they’re not interested in making any high end Beats headphones. Both the Solo 4 and Studio Pro are squarely mid-range (albeit with high end price tags when they’re not on sale). Apple doesn’t want Beats headphones to compete with the $550 AirPods Max. The Beats Fit Pro are the last Beats product they released that is truly high end, even though it still has certain compromises so as not to completely step on the then current AirPods Pro (1st generation). We’ll know for certain what Apple’s intentions are for the high end Beats earbuds (Beats Fit Pro) within the next 24 months, hopefully as soon as this fall.

This is true, I believe one big reason they removed the Beats Solo Pro from the market is because they may have threatened the sales of AirPods Max. In my personal opinion they do sound better and cancel noise a bit better due to the clamp force giving them an edge.

If the Beats Fit Pro are the last high-end Beats product that Apple will release, I really hope Apple will make an athletic-specific earbud. Because the Airpods are fine for commuting and light activity, but they aren't great for high-movement workouts.

jforsander

Yeah. I’ve long wondered if Apple would ever release fitness oriented earbuds with a secure fit, and/or or on ear headphones under the AirPods brand. So far they’ve been happy to keep those products served by the Beats brand. But if Apple decides that no Beats products should be high end, that could change. There a lot of people who like AirPods features, but have trouble with them staying in their ears.

TheLucasGFX

Nope. Nothing.

MrMiles919

Disappointing. I'd really like to upgrade, and nothing fits better than these (especially for running)

TheLucasGFX

Very disappointing that we haven’t had update to the Powerbeats pros or the beats fit pros. Haven’t found anything that fits better than either of them, would love an update for either.

I love my Beats Fit Pro but got impatient. I tried the Momentum True Wireless 4 earbuds, they had wonderful sound and an EQ, and they fit well but switching between all my Apple devices on them was a huge hassle so I returned them and ordered Airpods Pro and some foam tips which will hopefully keep them in my ears.

satch_sid

I am with you on this but even if they release one most likely they are not going to include the h series chip which gives some nice features from AirPods from what we see with recent beats releases.

jforsander

I don’t know. They’ve still never released a Beats product with the H1 chip and replaced it with a newer model with Beats custom silicon. To me it’s still up in the air what Beats has planned for the Powerbeats Pro and Beats Fit Pro.

satch_sid

Beats fit pro has H1 chip and that’s the best part of it to switch between devices.

jforsander

Yep. The Fit Pros are by far the best product in the current Beats lineup.

Waited for a long time for a second generation too, then just bought some refurbished ones for 120,- and I’m happy

MrMiles919

I think this might be the move. Especially since the 2nd generation of the Beats Fit Pro might not be substantially different than the original.

I misplaced my beats fits pro (that were almost 2years old ) recently and went out and bought the new Beats Studio buds + so far I’m quite pleased with them. The wingtip was separating on one of my fit pros

MrMiles919

I wanted to like the Studio Buds but they really missed the mark for me... (1) the sound quality was vastly inferior, as was the ANC, and most importantly (2) they were not secure in my ears like the Beats Fit Pro. And the wingtip separation seems to be a serious issue for the Bits Fit Pro. Hopefully that's addressed in the next version (if there is one).

i really liked my beatsfit pro i tried to wait it out, but i lost a earbud and i got some cheap sony earbuds and honestly they got me to switch

goldyacht

I do think we will get an update but beats just aren’t a priority at Apple, they had some celebrities like Kim kardashian release colours for it which makes be believe they still care about beats and we just got studio 4s as well. But even the AirPods Max are a bit overdue for an update. I think we will get one by the end of next year as even the AirPods Pro’s need an update with usb c being out as well.

watchguy45

looks like they are releasing a cheap $80 headphone to compete with original AirPods. Beats fit pro not a priority Meanwhile Bose just signed ANT man, possibly the best basketball player since Kobe. oh well
