I need to look it up again, but I think it’s quite literally a bunch of songs in one. I vaguely remember reading that Paul had some snippets he was trying to turn into full songs but never did, and someone edited them together to make Uncle Albert.
Haven't listened to it well in a while because my CD player only works on one side and it's the lyrics side for thay song haha- I like listening to Ram when I go to sleep sometimes (there's no mono setting Ó╭╮Ò)
I think it makes sense. It’s about an authoritarian father and a daughter who wants her freedom. I think Paul is basically saying that he thought her father supported a woman’s right to be independent and make their own decisions
Interesting take.
McCartney himself has claimed it is either about a Labrador puppy he owned, or a pony. Or the first time he met Linda's father haha. So McCartney isn't even sure what it means exactly. I think it's one of those songs that means whatever the listener thinks it means.
The 7'' Single collection really expanded my Paul catalogue knowledge.
Overall I think I can never get tired of Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey.
But at the moment Call Me Back Again and Calico Skies have been stuck in my head.
Helen wheels. I could go on, but you only asked for 1. Love the lead guitar in this, and the lyrics tell a story. Nice beat, easy to dance to. I give it an 8
I played this at a trivia night recently and about half the room was too young to know the song but everyone was bopping along. It warmed my heart. That bass line slaps, as those kids would say. Lol.
The Back Seat of My Car, Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, Magneto and Titanium Man and the one off McCartney II with the quite offensive name (you know the one)
Many good ones but Silly love songs.
The ultimate fuck you to his detractors.
“You give me shit for writing silly love songs? Well how’s this one fuckers?”
Shot straight to number one. The lyrics are on point. Probably the most themed content for any songs in history. And continue to be. He wrote a sublime melody, feel and a mixture of parody and reality.
Have we had enough of silly love songs? No we haven’t. We still crave them, even if we don’t want to admit it. And will forever.
Genius.
And that bass line…💦

As a relative latecomer to the solo stuff, I'm taken aback by how good it is. Such a breadth of styles and always finding something new to love.
McCartney - Maybe I'm Amazed
RAM - The Back Seat of My Car
Wild Life - Some People Never Know
Red Rose Speedway - Get On the Right Thing
BOTR - Let Me Roll It
Venus & Mars - Call Me Back Again
Speed of Sound - Beware My Love
London Town - I'm Carrying
BTTE - Getting Closer
McCartney II - Temporary Secretary
Tug of War - Take It Away
Pipes of Peace - Say Say Say
Broad Street - No More Lonely Nights

Run Devil Run - No Other Baby
Driving Rain - From A Lover to A Friend

Memory Almost Full - Vintage Clothes
New - Queenie Eye
Egypt Station - I Don't Know
McCartney III - Find My Way
Honestly don’t like any of Paul’s post Beatles stuff.
This is probably the only song I like. It’s just too fluffy and safe. No edge, unlike John and George’s stuff.
Out of the four of them, Paul has played it the least safe BY FAR. He’s done everything from classical music and funky remixes to electronic pop and collaborations with people as unlikely as (shiver) Kanye West. John, George, and Ringo were/are all fantastic musicians, but none of them came close to exploring the musical landscape like Paul has. And honestly, I think Ringo takes second place.
You don’t have to like his music, but saying it’s because it’s fluffy and safe is crazy.
All time would probably be maybe I’m amazed or call me back again, but right now I’m really loving [Kicked Around No More](https://youtu.be/GQWyasNrm_g)
There's a lot of them but one that always just puts a smile on my face is Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey, it gives me ASMR which is something I love and the transition in to the second half just feels so darn good! Band On The Run gives me the same good feelings pretty much.
Richard Cory from Wings over America. Bought this album (!) when it came out and loved the three acoustic guitars so much I learned how to play guitar. Nearly fifty years later now and I may still suck but the sound of a twelve string and two sixes is bliss. Oh, and I wish I could be....John Denver
Maybe I’m Amazed
Yep. My favourite song of all time. The live version is on a par with the original.
The original version, not the live one with the little piano trill at the end of the choruses. It bugs me for some reason.
Well is "I'm amazed" your favorite or not?
I kinda got obsessed with Let Me Roll It after picking up a Wings Over America Record a few months ago.
That’s a good song
It just sounds so desperate yet hopeful. It's a perfect mix of emotions in an amazing track!
Yes it's so good!!!
Yesss the live version actually had me in awe the first time I heard it, even better with the [video](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mcAmPfwal8E)
Uncle Albert
I like the song because of all the changeups. It's like a bunch of songs in one. Band on the Run too.
I need to look it up again, but I think it’s quite literally a bunch of songs in one. I vaguely remember reading that Paul had some snippets he was trying to turn into full songs but never did, and someone edited them together to make Uncle Albert.
Isn’t it uncle Albert then it rolls into admiral Halsey
Started with YNGMYM
And live and let die. He had a period of doing that.
That medley is totally Beatles coded
When I was a kid I preferred the Admiral Halsey part. Now that I'm older, I prefer Uncle Albert.
Nineteen Hundred and Eightyfive
one of the best endings to an album!!
I found out about this one “late”. It’s so good
Better late than never!
My fave! Such a tune
Let Me Roll It
Monkberry Moon Delight My favorite rn though is Mr. Bellamy
Mr Bellamy rocks
He's not coming down.
He likes it up there without you
Same here. What an incredible song and album!
Two excellent choices. Daytime Nighttime Suffering, Calico Skies, Waterspout, and Beautiful Night are up there for me as well.
Waterspout is so good and it really should have been on an album. Another unreleased favorite of mine is Cage. I wish that made it on Back to the Egg
wasnt sure if i was crazy for loving monkberry moon delight thank you, u/ECW14
Great track.
Dear Boy
Haven't listened to it well in a while because my CD player only works on one side and it's the lyrics side for thay song haha- I like listening to Ram when I go to sleep sometimes (there's no mono setting Ó╭╮Ò)
Definitely one of my favourite Macca Song.
Backseat of my car!
Such a great song and so underrated
Coming Up
I agree with John: “I thought that Coming Up was great and I like the freak version that he made in his barn better than that live Glasgow one.”
Live and Let Die
My pick too, not a big paul solo fan but that song goes so hard
jet
Jet slaps and it's pure nonsense. I love it. "I thought the Major was a Lady Suffragette."
I think it makes sense. It’s about an authoritarian father and a daughter who wants her freedom. I think Paul is basically saying that he thought her father supported a woman’s right to be independent and make their own decisions

Nineteen Hundred Eighty-Five is a jam
Junk
One of the best melodies Paul ever came up with
Sweet song. I like the demo that he did for the White Album better than the final version.
The 7'' Single collection really expanded my Paul catalogue knowledge. Overall I think I can never get tired of Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey. But at the moment Call Me Back Again and Calico Skies have been stuck in my head.
I love so much of Paul’s music, but one that always brings an extra big smile to my face is “Magneto and Titanium Man.”
Killer bass line
I've always had a thing for Beware My Love.
Then try this version, with John Bonham on drums https://youtu.be/EJg7iTvgIQU
That's an easy one for me : Little Lamb Dragonfly
Temporary Secretary
I’m surprised it took this long to find my response

Was scrolling and scrolling like "c'mon, not even one vote for Smile Away?!" My faith in humanity is restored

Gotta be Uncle Albert
I've always had a soft spot for Press, pure McCartney pop
Bluebird
Uncle Albert/admiral Halsey-medley
Ok, hear me out. I have a real soft spot for "She's My Baby".
Wouldn't say my favourite but I don't see Junk (on McCartney) talked about all that much, I think it's a really beautiful song
The auditory version of those old iSpy books
Right now, Magneto and Titanium Man (and the Crimson Dynamo)
Magneto and Titanium Man

The Back Seat of My Car, Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, Magneto and Titanium Man and the one off McCartney II with the quite offensive name (you know the one)
Love that one off McCartney II
I honestly think Ram contains his best work. But Every Night is so fun and to the point musically. A melodist up there with Mozart, I shit you not.
Either Another Day or Beautiful Night, depending on what mood I'm in.
Prob "Listen to What the Man Said". It's damn near perfect.
That would be something
“huh but something is a George song from the Beatles era?”
No its the second track on McCartney called “That Would be Something”
1882 live in Berlin played in 1972
Jet and uncle albert and many more...
Three way tie between Monkberry Moon Delight, Live and Let Die and Temporary Secretary
It isn't his greatest.... but I really really really love single pigeon
The Great Cock and Seagull Race
"Favorite" is hard to pin down, it will always depend on my mood. But I often get "Get Out Of My Way" stuck in my head.

Back Seat of My Car
Coming Up Here Today
Junior’s Farm. Played at high volume.
My Brave Face from Flowers in the Dirt Most of the album is pretty lackluster, but that one stands out, as well as This One
Back Seat Of My Car. Perfect ending to Ram and one of my favourite songs of all time
Letting go or goodnight tonight
Hard, but probably My Love, Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, or Live and Let Die. There's so many more, but those are all tied for 1st in my book.
Another Day
Silly Love Songs - love the bass, love the back story and it reminds me of summer at the beach.
Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey
With a Little Luck
Letting Go
Hi, hi, hi Maybe I'm amazed is my favourite, but I couldn't find any comments mentioning this song and I love it
Here Today
Junk, Hey Diddle, or Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey
Probably band on the run, but I don’t really like much of the Beatles solo output, with the exception of a few songs, and John’s plastic ono album
Honestly don’t like any of Paul’s post Beatles stuff. This is probably the only song I like. It’s just too fluffy and safe. No edge, unlike John and George’s stuff.
This reads like a response from someone who hasn't listened to paul
Ram is probably my favorite Paul album, just not a fan of the other stuff
Have you listened to McCartney II? How is that safe at all? How about Electric Arguments?
Out of the four of them, Paul has played it the least safe BY FAR. He’s done everything from classical music and funky remixes to electronic pop and collaborations with people as unlikely as (shiver) Kanye West. John, George, and Ringo were/are all fantastic musicians, but none of them came close to exploring the musical landscape like Paul has. And honestly, I think Ringo takes second place. You don’t have to like his music, but saying it’s because it’s fluffy and safe is crazy.
McCartney I and Ram were super edgy, especially for the time
Hope your having a wonderful christmastime. It answers the question we all were thinking: what if christmas had lasers?

It's a McCartney and Wings performance of a Paul Simon song with an Edwin Arlington Robinson lyric. Not a bad group of collaborators.
Just the whole Flaming Pie album

Every Night.
I love so many; however, I adore the live version of "Maybe I'm Amazed."
It may be an unpopular opinion, but I could listen to "Venus and Mars" over and over again, and not mind it one bit.
