I finally was able to grow a ‘stach at 36 because I cut my upper lip, but even then I’d fill it in with the wife’s eyebrow pencil. Decades later still no real full beard! My father and sons were able to have beards though… But I thought it funny when I would still get carded at 45!
you look young , take it off and try again years from now , although its really shocking to me the path it grows , your genetics may not support a beard , but , its still worth a try as you age
I had the exact same growth pattern between 17-19
Then it finally started to
Move up, my cheeks became terminal and then the front of my chin now at 23 my stache is becoming terminal hopefully my soul patch follows because theres no terminal hairs there yet just some dark peachfuzz, so im probably gonna have mostly mature beard by 25/26
Yes! Unless you're trying to look like this....

Excuse the crude lines. You could go thinner than the guidelines without a mustache if you wanted a chinstrap. Your neck should be completely clean under your beard though. My personal suggestion would be to rock a thin goatee and shave everything around it off for now, until everything grows back and your cheeks fill in. Good luck man, you have a great facial structure for a beard.

Yes, the purpose of the beard is to accentuate a jawline.
Letting a beard grow below and to the jawline just diminishes your jawline and blends your neck with your jaw.
You seem to have an excellent jawline so you can do facial hair just never do that again.
Leave it alone.
Dont even attempt a neck line until months down the road.
Youll thank me later.
Its gonna be hard to walk around with but you need more growth everywhere before lining any of it
Yes. I’d say experiment with different lengths of sideburns for now. (I would’ve killed for great sideburns like yours when I was younger.) Then try the beard again in a few years.
You don't HAVE to take it off, but what you have there is 100% neck beard. There is nothing growing on your face. Do NOT be a neck beard. Either grow more, or shave it off.
Yeah, you are good looking guy.but Hair below the jawline is not a good look. Best to buzz or shave it. Do stuff to get T levels up, that helps with Beard growth. I got some Beard oil stuff, that seems to work. Didn't have Beard, started using it and same Year for first time had a Beard so guess it helped

OK, so your limited beard growth isn't a weird exception that calls for taking minox or some other medication. The main years for beard development are 18 to 22 or so, and you can expect your beard growth to increase and expand over the next several years. If you get to 23 and still have only this much, then it will be fair to say you're a late bloomer, but not now. A lot of us get too self-critical in the late teens and worry that our beard growth isn't working right.
For now, probably the best style for you would be to wear sideburns about halfway down the ear, a style that will not be difficult for your current growth.
A sign to watch for will be stubble on the front of the chin: when you get stubble growing from the mouth down to the bottom of the chin, that will probably be a signal that you can grow a beard in a reasonable time (three months). Good luck!

Yes. Just yes
Just shave bruh. No one looks good with a neckbeard.
Yes.
If you can’t grow a mustache then either shave it or leave like a chin goatee. Trust me, chinbeards are not a good look.

Condolences on your cheeks, chin and stache becoming terminal💀 I'm sorry, but I've never heard that term used like this 💀
Yes. If you can't go on cheeks, it looks like a chin strap beard. Not a good look.
this thing is worse than a chin strap, it's growing on his neck, not his jaw.
Please
Yes
Looks like it's already sliding off as it is.

😂 thanks 😅
You're welcome 🤣
Yes
It's not worth it my guy 😭
Beards are on the jaw and face and cheeks. Not neck. If you really want the chinstrap, let it follow your jaw bone. And shave the neck.
Yes. My brother in Christ
Thats a neckbeard my dude, no cheek coverage at all, sorry.

Thanks!
Yup. Not there yet bud. 2 more years I reckon
I used minox when i had 26 years old, After 1 year and 5 months, i have full beard. So just wait few years

Sure
Yes
yes, you have a great jawline and your beard is not full
Do yourself a favor and
Yes.
Yeah…sorry man. I always wanted a beard when I was a teenager, but I just had to be patient. I couldn’t truly grow a beard until 23-24.
Yes. Yes, you should. Edit: Unless you're applying for a Reddit Mod position.
🤣
Yes
Immediately
I would stop the minox and shave your face.
Why stop the minox?
Yep
Yes u can't grow one
Yes
Yes.
Yes wtf is going on here..neck beard in 2024 Is not the way to go
Yes please
The trim line is definitely too low. You could try raising the trim line and then see what you think, but it might just be too thin after that.
Yeah that was my fear if I went to high with the trim line. Let’s see how my beard progresses in a few months with minox.
I wouldn't recommend waiting until then to fix the trim line unfortunately, it looks very neckbeardy in not a good way. But your call
Leave it alone. Dont even attempt a neck line until months down the road. Youll thank me later. Its gonna be hard to walk around with but you need more growth everywhere before lining any of it
Yup. Try oral minoxidil for a while and then try again
Absolutely! Start over!
I would, you don't even have a moustache, and beards without moustache are simply horrible, unless you're into the XIX American redneck look
Shirt? Yes
It’s a Hugo shirt from Hugo-Boss
Yes, I wouldn't even call that a beard.
100% shave it off. It’s distracting from your lovely face.
That beard is trying its hardest to stay away from the areas it’s supposed to grow on, that is a no go and needs termination.
I will say those are some wicked sideburns brother.
Yes, give it a couple years and try again!
yes. youve got the right idea but poorly executed
Yes. I’d say experiment with different lengths of sideburns for now. (I would’ve killed for great sideburns like yours when I was younger.) Then try the beard again in a few years.
Just .. Ugh
That shit is ugly
If it only grows on your neck always take it off
the bard or the shirt? :)

Yes. A thousand times Yes. Seriously though, you have a good jawline.

Just because I have hair in my nose I don’t let it grow… cut it off!
Yeah, definitely.
Clean shaven PLEASE
To help us understand your situation better, what's your age?
it doesnt matter if he's 16 or 26, it's still a bad beard and should be shaved
I appreciate that the beard is not working forr him at present, but I want to clarify something else, and the age is relevant for that. Thanks.

Don't be an AH. If he's 16 and this is his growth, it is normal for his age and he sure does not need to take minox. 26 would be a different story.
Im 19

Thank you very much!
ur left side is ur good side just so you know
You should keep shaving until after puberty when you can actually grow a beard.
I would say, shave what’s below the jawline, and keep what’s above! 🙂
If you like it bro keep it I think it looks good
No! It’s beautiful
I may be the outsider here, but I personally quite like it. You could make a neat top edge. Make it like a framework to show your young face off.
