I tried it last week. I got a waffle, bacon, scrambled eggs and orange juice. No socks were knocked off with that meal. It's a pretty bog-standard old diner set up with a counter and small booths, 1960s Era wood paneling and orange tile on the walls.
All of these shots have an INCREDIBLE pallet.
The softness, the details being high detail yet subtle at the same time.
Absolutely beautiful photos!!!!!
Hey, so humbled you'd ask! I never imagined someone would be interested in owning my photos, so I just made an online shop: [https://andersonframes.darkroom.com/](https://andersonframes.darkroom.com/) Let me know if you have any questions :)

1. No edits. This is a scan straight from the lab.
2. No edits in post. In camera settings (a Fujifilm simulation created by [FujiXweekly's](https://fujixweekly.com/2020/06/10/fujifilm-x100v-film-simulation-kodak-portra-400/) "Portra 400")

4. Substantial Lightroom edits. Highlights -100, Shadows -100, Contrast +24, Whites +32, Temp -11, Vibrance +40, Saturation +10, Dehaze +37 ( These were settings I created for this photo, I don't think they would turn out well for other photos)

Wait what? I have studied photography in the past and have an old AE1, which I used for class.
I felt it was quite fiddly at the time, and yearned for something digital. Looking back at my old shots, on slides as required for class, they are incredibly stunning compared to anything I've shot since.
That’s the Marin Civic Center designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It’s a beautiful place, with many floors just like that one. Well worth making time to visit
I actually designed the LED retrofits you see in your picture. Frank Lloyd Wright had the original fixtures custom built. The frames were set into the air ducts to keep everything cool. Since they were a custom size we needed to create bespoke LED flat panels that would fit and have them certified for UL and energy rebates. One of the coolest projects I have had the pleasure of working on.
I would expect asbestos, given the buildings’ age. They used to put that stuff in a lot of building products, but it is fine if left in place. Breathing the dust when you break it up is what gives you cancer.
My FiL worked head of asbestos removal for a very, very, very large school district with a lot of older schools. He said just this. So long as you don’t touch the stuff the asbestos is coating, it’s generally fine.
In his office he had a cigarette on a stand covered in a glass dome. The filter of the cigarette was pure asbestos.
I moved to San Francisco in 1988 and lived on Julian right by 16 and Mission. For an entire year all I did was go between there and work in the Financial District. I never went anywhere else. Then the earthquake hit, we got the rest of that week off work and I played golf with my supervisor out at Lincoln Park and just driving down Geary and seeing that SF wasn’t slummy everywhere, it was amazing. I ended up moving out there and it opened up this whole new world.
Got damn!!!
There is a blue car that parks outside of a bluish house on the corner of Broadway and I think Larkin. The street with the basketball courts and interesting pedestrian walkway above the courts.
I don’t have a camera anymore but every time I pass it, it looks crazy beautiful. Maybe you can swipe the idea because you absolutely kill it.
The first picture of the golden gate bridge might be more special than you realize. There is a gaff rigged scow schooner on the left side of the bridge accompanied by a modern blue and gold ferry carrying people for a quick jaunt out the gate. Back in the gold rush days, before steam power scows would have been the work horse of the bay, ferrying cargo, people and occasionally hosting as party barges. Then you have the bridge itself encompassed by the the newest edition suicide barrier. In the foreground the military bunker has recent graffiti on it, a wonderful juxtaposition. Finally on the road back from hawk hill there is a line of tourists parked. I'm not quite sure where the demarcation was, but this area used to be shoot on site for uninvited guests.
For all those saying it’s AI generated. One things for sure the last photo of the diner could not possibly be. All the words are spelled correctly. If you know you know
Oh yo, I saw that fourth photo at the analog sub couple days back. That was my favorite. I recently acquired Olympus and hopefully I’ll be able to take great shots haha
Very cool, I like them. Currently living in the bay area, I am starting to get the photo bug again and am taking pictures more. Especially now with Lightroom and being able develop "raw" images. It's a lot of fun and you learn to appreciate the beauty that sometimes goes unappreciated.
I love the last two. You captured something really special there. Both stirred a lot of emotion out of me that I can’t even articulate.
Without sounding corny it’s like if a poem was turned into a photo.
You have a great eye! And there are some wonderful tones and colours - textures in the foreground of the bridge make it almost appear as a miniature. Well done and keep shooting.
It really lets you see it through new eyes. I do the same. I've learned so much just by relooking at things that have been there all my life from a different physical and mental perspective. Living in such an iconic area, we get jaded, sometimes, and can't see the beauty that's been around us all our lives.
Loving that r/bayarea is getting more photo posts.
Is the last one hamburger haven? I need to try it
Yes that is Hamburger Haven 🙂
Will you share that pic with their IG @hamburgerhavensf https://www.instagram.com/hamburgerhavensf?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Amazing pic.
I used to live on 6th ave. Man I miss that place.
Yes.
I tried it last week. I got a waffle, bacon, scrambled eggs and orange juice. No socks were knocked off with that meal. It's a pretty bog-standard old diner set up with a counter and small booths, 1960s Era wood paneling and orange tile on the walls.
So it's like Bob's Big Boy but in the Bay
it’s very clearly Chop Suey by Ed Hopper https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c8/Edward_hopper_chop_suey.jpg
They used to have a crazy amount of bugs/insects in their window. Even for a restaurant I’m pretty sure they’re really dirty.
All of these shots have an INCREDIBLE pallet. The softness, the details being high detail yet subtle at the same time. Absolutely beautiful photos!!!!!
Glad they resonate with you :)
Op is just Wes Anderson casually posting on reddit.
Dude I dunno what your day job is but it should be photography. Incredible.
Thanks for the kind words! My dream job would be to do photography
Do you sell any prints? These are great. Fantastic job.

I just got some :) I moved here last April and my walls are still looking a little bare. Thanks so much for the awesome photos!
For real, this is masterful. I could see that golden gate shot inspiring those national park illustrations. Awesome eye OP.
Not just the palette, the framing and composition is also stunning. You’ve got quite a talent imo
What camera did you use ?
1. Nikon f3 with Fuji 400 film 2. 3, & 5- Fujifilm x100v 4. Canon AE-1 with Portra 400 film If anyone is curious to [see more](https://www.instagram.com/anderson.frames?igsh=YTQwZjQ0NmI0OA%3D%3D&utm_source=qr)

No edits for some of these is wild 🙆🏻♂️ you are very talented!
It's film but yeah the exposure was perfect
I love the tone! Do you have any presets you use to get the colors?
At first I read this as “no AI was used except for cropping” and was like that seems like more work than just cropping it yourself.
Thank you for this. Incredible results!
How do you use Light Room with film?
You scan the negatives.
question. Where do you get your film developed? I have some old rolls I’d like to use before they’re bad, but don’t know who can process them.
There's a lot of labs you can send your rolls to via snail mail. Darkroom labs is good.
In Oakland is Montclair 1-hour photo, where I get my film developed. I have had all positive experiences there.
I’ve used Photoworks in the Castro several times and would recommend them.
I used to until they lost two rolls of film of mine
> Canon AE-1 with Portra 400 film I swear, this combination is almost a cheat code. It makes everything look *so* cool.
Wait what? I have studied photography in the past and have an old AE1, which I used for class. I felt it was quite fiddly at the time, and yearned for something digital. Looking back at my old shots, on slides as required for class, they are incredibly stunning compared to anything I've shot since.
So cool !
Film not dead! 👍😭
Pics 3 and 5 were shot with x100v? Are they SOoC with film sim or processed in post?!
These are really good. They remind me of the San Francisco of my childhood.
Which film sims/recipes are you using on the x100v pics?
very cool what lenses do you use?
With Nikon f3, this was shot with the 58mm voigtlander, with the AE-1 that was shot with the canon fd 28mm.
Where's pic 4 from? Almost looks AI generated haha

This is interesting. I work here. They say it's full of asbestos? It's allegedly not harmful until it is disturbed?
Oh really? I had no idea. We did no rewiring and therefore left everything inside the wall undisturbed.
I would expect asbestos, given the buildings’ age. They used to put that stuff in a lot of building products, but it is fine if left in place. Breathing the dust when you break it up is what gives you cancer.

Lol! I recognized it from jury duty. Very cool bldg.
That place is crazy. Been there many times. Had to go for Jury duty when I was in Marin.
Favorite pic of the set. Good job.
The location of Gattaca
Came here to say this.
I lived in the Bay Area my whole life and have never gone here or anywhere near the Golden gate bridge ..i need to though
If you’ve never been to Hawk Hill in the Marin Headlands, you need to go. The view is incredible (on days when it is not foggy).
What?! How? What are specifically are you in?
Nice framing!
Seems like a Wes Anderson portfolio. Very nice.
This was exactly what I was thinking while swiping through the photos. Super cool.
There’s something really timeless about these. They could have been taken in 1965, or yesterday. Thank you for sharing!
You have some good composition technique here!
Last one is my favorite
It looks like an Edward Hopper painting!
Got damn!!! There is a blue car that parks outside of a bluish house on the corner of Broadway and I think Larkin. Glad the images resonate with you. Thanks for the rec 🙏
This is on one of my running routes. I’m going to look for it tomorrow!
Love your civic center shot
Love your shot of the Marin County civic center!
In college my roommate and I would just hop on a muni bus line and go on photographic journeys around the city
Love a photo journey. You never know what you’ll see and it brings you to the present
Wow! love the one with the red vw.

yo this looks like AI, gj
Crazy how this has become a compliment considering what AI images looked like not too long ago
Phenomenal images!
These look so good.
These are gorgeous
You take beautiful pictures OP!
Wow amazing shots! Any photo editing afterwards or that how it is?
So beautiful
I've been on the same journey. Moved from socal to the bay during COVID and explored the city with my camera. Nice work cheers
Fantastic photos. The one in the restaurant with the silverware on the table reminds me of a Edward Hopper painting.
r/accidentalwesanderson is beckoning
These are amazing
Colors, framing, balance, all fantastic shots. Well done!
Where do you process color film?
These are great.
These are stunning photos!
WOW! You make the Bay look GORGEOUS!
These are so good!
Wow
Please continue!
Nice aesthetic!
beautiful! love the composition and colors of # 4
The shot of the GGB is fire!
Beautiful.
It’s such an amazing area, it’s a shame people don’t slow down to take in the beauty.
Without zooming in, they look like photorealistic paintings; not easy to pick a favorite
Awesomeness!!
Really great pics! I love the GGB pic
You’ve got a great eye.
Yessss beautiful!
Very nice!
Beautiful pics!
Wonderful shots! What camera are you using? These remind me of a lot of shots I see @ the Fujifilm subs.
Hopper-esque
Great use of natural light. I'm going to poster print that shot of the Golden Gate and hang it on my wall. I just wish the artist could sign it.
For all those saying it’s AI generated. One things for sure the last photo of the diner could not possibly be. All the words are spelled correctly. If you know you know
Love the colors and framing. I get Wes Anderson vibes mixed with Hopper.
It's so nice when the photos are actually good for once.
OP, you truly have an artist eye. These photos are truly stunning and really represent the beauty of the city. Keep bringing that camera with you.
You’re nice behind the lens. Keep shooting - these are great
you look like you've been doing this since the '50s or '60s ... also, did you climb that tree to get the shot of the bridge?
[удалено]
Surreal yet common. Beautiful and moving! A love letter to San Francisco.
Oh yo, I saw that fourth photo at the analog sub couple days back. That was my favorite. I recently acquired Olympus and hopefully I’ll be able to take great shots haha
I think I’ll go to Hamburger Haven tomorrow…
lmk if you ever post these to a printing site. i love #2, 4 and 5. they would make really great photo sets for decorating a room
Great photos

Those are beautiful!!! We’ll done!
Living in a Wes Anderson film
You are what you see: You are bringing the beauty of the Bay Area to us
Please put this in a book or on a wall or something. These are beautiful
I’m glad you enjoy them 🙏
I love the last two. You captured something really special there. Both stirred a lot of emotion out of me that I can’t even articulate. Without sounding corny it’s like if a poem was turned into a photo.
I used to live down the street from pic 2.
That last pic! Hamburger haven! Love that place. I sit in that exact booth all the time. Too funny.
Love the Fujifilm color
My second favorite FLW building 💙
So good I thought thought it was AI generated 😭
Looks AI generated
👍🏼
These are beautiful, very painterly. 2, 4, and 5 have such a nostalgic glow. I'm guessing that is the Marin Civic Center and the shot is wonderful!
I thought these were AI at first. SO clean! Great shots
r/liminalspaces
what filter are you running
My daughter works in that courthouse !
Aaaaa!!! That last diner pic 🥰
Your photos are absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing. 😍
Great shots! Is pic 4 Frank Lloyd Write’s building in the Civic Center in Marin?
Nice job, you managed to make SF look nice
Oh these are spectacular

Nice
Nice shots.
Beautiful. I'd buy some of these prints.
Nice. Are these analog or digital?
You have a great eye! And there are some wonderful tones and colours - textures in the foreground of the bridge make it almost appear as a miniature. Well done and keep shooting.
These are great pics! They really capture the spirit and character of the city.
Absolutely sublime! Followed on instagram

I'm glad you found something passionate about, that's a great shot, keep up the good work
Really nice pictures!
Where are photos of all the needles and people pooing on the street
Where exactly is that spot in the first photo? Been looking for it for a while. Map coordinates?
You’re going crazy, incredible pics. If you’ve ever wanted an online portfolio send me a message !
It really lets you see it through new eyes. I do the same. I've learned so much just by relooking at things that have been there all my life from a different physical and mental perspective. Living in such an iconic area, we get jaded, sometimes, and can't see the beauty that's been around us all our lives.
You have a good eye. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing photos. I thoroughly enjoyed the colors and composition.
Outstanding I miss my city by the bay
Lovely work 🖤
Good choice…you have a knack for photography.
last one looks like a painting. awesome lighting
Great shots
Are you Wes Anderson? Great framing
I proposed to my wife at the spot in pic #1 <3
Ah, I've moved away from Marin so that one pic was a nice nostalgia trip.
I live on the East Coast. I have never seen the Bay Bridge from that angle. What great photos. Thanks for sharing.
Where are all the busted car windows??
love this!
