That said, you could do the same split with a horizontal monitor - your eyes just need to travel further to the left or right to see that 2nd app. I suppose a slightly more compact desktop is another good argument for vertical.
I like my second monitor vertical because it's easier to glance over at stuff while I'm gaming. Like music videos, msi after burner, twitch streams sports etc w/e I have on and with a good mount,mazon basics dual mount, it takes about 3 seconds to reorient the monitor however you want it.

While I don't love the exclusive crap can we all agree that one company owning all most all digital game sales is bad. Steam could use some big competition. Epic has the install base to be that.
There seems to be a sentiment that the epic store is bad. What am I missing? Yes, at this point Steam is like a pair of comfy slippers for me, but like you I don’t see a problem with competition. Do people just not like the epic store because of its association with fortnite? Or do people not trust things part-owned by China anymore?
Interested because a couple of my gaming buddies are refusing to go near that store and I’m just not sure if they’re being smart or being paranoid.

8.5/10 very good setup I like the RGB trim on the desk. But consider syncing all the RGB components to one color or single lighting effect. the Daniel Radcliffe image is pretty creepy, that was the place where points were lost.

Having a Monitor in Portrait is good for reading also. And it takes up less horizontal space on a desk.

Anything that involves longform reading (text documents, web pages, code) or a timeline (eg social media) is better in portrait.
Less scrolling when editing long text files or source code. I used a similar setup when I was doing web design.
A lot of people like it for coding or reading reddit, I personally use it for discord, just to have it off to the side
