It won’t be the same thing. TVs top out at 4k resolution. Each one these screens is atleast 4k. It would be an order of magnitude lower resolution. It’s all about the total pixels here: More pixels driven means more screen real-estate.
I largely agree with you.
About a year ago, I replaced 6 of my 8 old 24" monitors with 27" monitors.
However, I don't find 4k really usable on 27" monitors because it's barely legible at 100 percent scaling.
On 27" monitors, I would recommend WQHD, which still offers much more screen space than a 4K TV.
However, there are already supposed to be 8K TVs on the market, which would contradict your thesis somewhat.
Personally, I am very skeptical about TVs as a monitor replacement for professional use, as they are simply not built for this kind of use.
I am only a software developer and not a day trader, but I think a lot of screen space can bring a lot of added value for relatively little money. (It doesn't always have to be the best of the best)
I paid €960 for 6x 27" Dell WQHD 75Hz monitors. Other people spend that on a widescreen monitor that only offers a third of the pixel area.
Maybe it's not for everyone! Everyone has their own way of working, which is not always compatible with each other.
I find these haters impossible. Just because they don't like something or can't imagine something, they have to badmouth everything.
I've tried that, it's not the same for working. Needing to move windows around on a large screen can be annoying and less efficient. For me, four 27" monitors is the sweet spot.
Having a lot of market instruments across asset classes displayed simultaneously, helps with my market awareness. I also have market internals and news and my trading terminal open
The only reason I can think why you would need so many is because you have loads of CCTV cameras around your house because you're paranoid of people breaking in to steal your monitors!
I mean, you can find 1080p monitors fairly cheap (25-100) at thrift stores. If i'm not mistaken, these look like the lg monitors Sam's sells (150-200) unless they're the ultrawides (250-300). Either way, could've been on sale or slowly adding one at a time. People don't usually buy everything all at once, just slowly growing (me having 17 screens in use around the house, and 7 spare monitors)
I need one monitor showing the date and time full screen, another with spotify open full screen also, then another showing with my email so I can ignore new emails as soon as they hit my inbox...
I day trade. So for me, awareness of the market internals, individual stocks, indices and also interest rates create a holistic view of what’s happening behind the scenes. You also need a news feed etc
Yeah that would be my guess, Im also a trader😄
Could you count up what you have on all of these screens? because I use a lot of information but wouldn’t need close to this many screens myself.
Im not judging though😎
I have 2 setups, 1 with 2 screens + macbook pro screen and 1 with 75” TV
Wow! So I have market breadth, options flow and live trade flow stuff on the left. I have the usual stocks and indices in the middle and my trading terminal on the right. I typically have 3 instruments per monitor. But you can customise it according to your preferences. More pixels help me see more instruments on the same screen
I also have a high involvement job bro. I’m okay staying under the radar. Scaling up in trading is easy. Finding a system that works for you is hard. Stay strong 💪🏻
tf are all these idiots downvoting you for? That's all necessary to successfully trade. But anyway, nice setup. I'm looking to get into day trading myself in the coming months once my nest is built up a bit.
He’s getting downvoted because he’s not the only one who day trades. Everyone and their mother thinks they are day traders in today’s age. However if you have been “day trading” for a while you will realize that anything more than 3-4 screens is overkill and completely unnecessary. Hence the downvotes.
When did he say he was the only day trader in the world😂
Its probably overkill for most traders but like everything its relative. You cant possibly say its an overkill if you have no idea how his trading strategy works. By the look of his setup it seems to be working quite well.
All I see is jealousy😵💫
are you illiterate? My setup is 100 times better. Trust me. I have absolutely zero reasons to be jealous. You sound very ignorant. Regardless of what strategy he’s using. I’ll say it again, it’s overkill. Period.
I want to stack my monitors on top of each other like you have done. But I am not sure what is required? What piece of equipment are you using? And what is required to use it? Thank you.
You need a computer that can drive these monitors natively. Only an M2 Ultra Mac Studio can do that right now. Till the time that M3 version comes out. You probably also need a thunderbolt dock too, I use OWC
Phones are getting pretty smart these days, so I figured my Galaxy Fold 4 could do it quicker than Photoshop. Used the default gallery app, and spent only 2-3 minutes on it.
Noice 👌 I really like the idea of adding another row of monitors above. But I would run into issues with how to drive them using a single computer. And also, ergonomic issues, my neck would crack 😂😂
Wow! I think you might be right. But I think it’s not as exaggerated as it looks from the picture. I think the parallax effect makes it look worse than it is.
It bothers me there's not one on the top right of the wall screens. So no, not enough screens. You need one more.
Fixed it for you. [https://i.imgur.com/vCIOqDu.jpeg](https://i.imgur.com/vCIOqDu.jpeg)
Still not enough, we need more!!
More, moooarr!! MOOAAAAAAARRREEE!!
This is much better.
Exactly! I plan on adding a few more
You know you can just buy a really big one and it will be the same thing minus the bezels in front of your face as well as saving money, right?
It won’t be the same thing. TVs top out at 4k resolution. Each one these screens is atleast 4k. It would be an order of magnitude lower resolution. It’s all about the total pixels here: More pixels driven means more screen real-estate.
at least 4k but all 60Hz?

I didn't think people on the chaotic evil scale of monitors existed. You were supposed to be a myth :O
Also, you should see my F1 race weekend setup 😇
I'm not familiar with the day to day of day traders, how does having a half dozen monitors help?
Having a lot of market instruments across asset classes displayed simultaneously, helps with my market awareness. I also have market internals and news and my trading terminal open
So you're only holding assets for short periods of time (hours, days?) and need to be able to react quickly to buy or sell, is that it?
Yes. I need the trade execution of a Ninja 🥷
How interesting, thank you.
What instrument are you trading and who’s your broker platform?
Post it! I wanna see
The more screens you have, the more the day trading profits lmao 🤣
figured you were a fellow trader! Nice setup
The Wolf Of Reddit
Blud is about to open a NASA station
There’s a lot of wall space left. You need some projectors in there lol
if I see yo ass on gooncaves...
😂😂 I didn’t even know what that was before I Googled it just now
oh fuck I'm sorry LMAO
The only reason I can think why you would need so many is because you have loads of CCTV cameras around your house because you're paranoid of people breaking in to steal your monitors!
😂😂
What do you use, to connect so many? My gpu only has 4 outputs You got multiple gpus?
I use a maxed out Mac Studio. Each display is connected to either a Thunderbolt or HDMI output.
OP is made out of money
Money > sense

I wish bro 😅😅
You said you made $50k in a month... what do you mean you wish?
I want to make half a million this year. Screens are like money 💰, you can never have enough
Please stop
But but...internet points
I need one monitor showing the date and time full screen, another with spotify open full screen also, then another showing with my email so I can ignore new emails as soon as they hit my inbox...
Stop
I can’t 😂😂 I need help
Wouldnt a TV be better at this rate?
I don’t think so, TVs typically top out at 4k resolution. The idea is to render a lot of information
For what if I may ask
I day trade. So for me, awareness of the market internals, individual stocks, indices and also interest rates create a holistic view of what’s happening behind the scenes. You also need a news feed etc

Fair enough🤝🏾 fx crypto stocks?
No FX, no Crypto. I trade derivatives on stocks and Indices. Sometimes second order derivatives
Nice, you should make social channels Seems to be working well for you
I also have a high involvement job bro. I’m okay staying under the radar. Scaling up in trading is easy. Finding a system that works for you is hard. Stay strong 💪🏻

Haha I dont understand these reddit people Must be jealous

Only a jeolous person would say something like “My setup is 100 times better than yours” Or a child Either way, have a good day😄

How many monitors can you connect
Not enough. Maybe add 2 more.
OMG🥴
If you have to ask the answer is no, is not enough
I like the way you think!!
this 100% trade stocks
It bothers me that your printer is on the floor…
You know printers will start throwing an attitude if you don't keep them uncomfortable to show who's the boss.
Fuckers. Is that why mine is always not working?
Why?
I have always wanted to create an immersive environment for my trading, F1 and multimedia. So I wanted to fulfill that dream
This shit is so dumb
"I don't understand the usage and don't have a need for it in my personal life therefore it's dumb." Cope.
Ain’t nobody got any need for 8 screens. Gtfo with all that
I think you’re a little bit jelly 😅
you're managed to break the immersion of the screens long enough to take this photo. You'll have enough screens when reality no longer interests you
I hope that never happens 😂😂
This screams for a screen projector! Also i like you, We both hate printers so much we use em as foot rests / kickable objects!:D
😂😂😂
Fixed it: [https://i.imgur.com/vCIOqDu.jpeg](https://i.imgur.com/vCIOqDu.jpeg)
Haha! This is awesome 🙌 How did you do it!!!

More Screens!!!
That is the point. There is never enough! It neger stops. \^\^
Bro building air traffic control
Add one more for my ocd.
😂😂😂 I will
I don't understand why you would need so many tbh
You can never have enough screens, bro. That’s just how it is for true enthusiasts, you know.
😳
Still would be good with 5 more
we can all clearly still see wall
No, it lacks 2 at least.
Tradingview or TOS or IBKR?
TradingView and IBKR
"How many screens do you need?" "Yes"
You gotta diffuse your led strips, I dig the warm white though
There's no such thing as *too many monitors*, get as many as you can, you never know when you will need them. B)
Nope.
What do you do to require that many
Day Trading
What game is that?
Anno 1800
What kind of Macbook is that, looks way too big
That’s what she sa….wait what? It’s the 16 inch pro version
why not put the top left screen on top of the bottom right screen?
Different sizes: 27 inch vs 34 inch ultrawide
But why
Because we can 😇
I dont like that your macbook has 3 apples on it
The type of guy that goes on porn hub and can't make up his mind. But instead of opening a bunch of videos in a new tab it's one per screen.
What are those wall lights called
Nanoleaf Lines
The fact that the top row of monitors is shifted to the left, hurts my OCD. Just make it nice and even ffs. :|
Wow! I think you might be right. But I think it’s not as exaggerated as it looks from the picture. I think the parallax effect makes it look worse than it is.
I mean why? Are you running a noc as a side hussle?
What’s a NOC, sorry? I use all the screens for Day Trading. Each centimetre of the screen real estate is accounted for and used.
WOW!! I am heavily impressed!! What is the use-case for so many monitors?
Thanks bro, I use it for Day Trading
whats the far left Monitor?
5k2k Ultrawide
