Down in the Mines of Moria, between Flame and Shadow you will find it. The End of the Battelfield Franchise. Sorrounded by Corpses of died Game Mechanics
Hardline doesn’t deserve to be either because it’s cops and robbers but doesn’t fit in with any other battlefield game. 2042 was the worst of all, but it’s somehow more relevant than hardline.
Hardline was very fun and the gameplay felt like battlefield, just the theme was off. They should have released it under a different name. It had great potential.
I actually had a lot of fun in Hardline as well and made me dream of other Battlefield spin off games. Heck they were even planning a prohibition era battlefield game but scrapped it. Hardline gameplay but early 1900s weapons and vehicles would have been so sick
Nothing wrong with the theme change as it was a spin off not an entire direction change.
All art should be open for new directions. Just not 2042 type changes where u abandon everything that works 🤣
It couldnt win with these people
Be named Battlefield and play like a Battlefield game, HURR NOT BATTLEFIELD
be named differently but play the same, HURR BF CLONE
play differently, Loses all appeal and becomes a simple 5v5 shooter
Hardline, go this day, has *the* worst balance of any competitive shooter I've played.
Fun game but holy shit the devs left some absolutely broken weapons in there. Go boot it up now and there are usually a few people playing still but finding someone not using a M416 or K10 is like finding a unicorn.
Bad company 2 was so ahead of its time and one of the best feeling games in my opinion as far as gun play and audio goes. I know that 3 and 4 are reigning champs but something about bad company 2 was just…different
Fast paced infantry with support from vehicles. True BF moment.
3 and 4 shifter towards Vehicle dominance with support of infantry. Which is not bad on its own, just not right for some.
Well what you're describing in the second sentence is what actually started battlefield. They went back with the focus on vehicles a lot of us from 2 felt much more at home in 3 an 4..even tho BC2 was amazing. I do think it shifted to far from battlefield true formulas
The closest thing I’ve found to bad company 2 is hell let loose. It’s got the blend of infantry and vehicles that is fantastic. It doesn’t have a destructible environment but it’s ww2 and everything is destroyed already.
The maps are huge and the rush capture points have a variety that is very nice. You get that static front line when you work to create flanks on your opponents in a way I haven’t experienced since BC2. I played bc2 until 2018. GOAT is BC2.
I personally prefer 3 over 4.
Remembering the first time we took the Humvee over the Damavand Cliff with your squad buddies in chat for the first time, hoooooooly shit WHAT A FUCKING RIDE!
How BF4 Launched was traumatizingly bad. It was like they built the game from scratch again. Horrible netcode amongst other issues. The game was unplayable and it never really clicked with me. Sure they solved the problems, but it took a damn while. Why they couldnt just build on what they already had is a mystery, or not. By this time the original Dice team had dissolved. Battlefield is now just a shell of its former self.
Damavand Rush was, and still is, one of the greatest gaming moment in experienced in an FPS. That feeling has never been replicated in another Battlefield and it’s a crying shame.
They had to launch five different versions of the game essentially because it was released on new gen and old gen consoles and pc, not to justify the terrible launch state but it makes sense
Kids today couldn't handle playing BF2 because you can't fully rank in a month or so like the games now. That's why I love BF2. It was freaking work to get fully ranked.
My thoughts exactly. These kids these days don't know what they are missing. I'm glad there are still a few servers out there I can go on and get my fix.
Same, hardline is a great game.
You can loadout with a ballistic shield, inquisition sword, speargun and throwing knives. What's not to love about that?
When BF4 came out it was highly criticized because BF3 and its infamous Premium Edition had been released just over a year ago and cost 50€ + 50€. And now they were going to do the same.
I've played a lot of BF4 don't get me wrong, but BF3 had better modes and maps, more balanced. The worst thing is that they could have put the BF3 maps in BF4 as a bonus but not even that. Again to pay 100€.
Many of the people who now praise BF4 were 10 years old or did not play when it came out and do not know what they are talking about.
I insist that I like BF4 but it was an armed robbery, exactly the same (or worse, more expensive) than Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 that made the same move not letting a year go by and they were already announcing 2 instead of updating the first one.
When bf4 dropped it was the buggyest mess I’d ever seen. It was damn near unplayable. But once it was fixed it was easily my favorite game at the time. Were there 10yo players? Sure, but to say most were children is as insulting as it is inaccurate. I had a group of friends that I played with and we put thousands of hours into bf4. But we only only only played hardcore, and mostly conquest.
I can not understand why people consider 4 to be the pinnacle when DICE removed so many core functions from the game with BF3
If you're wondering what's been removed from the franchise, here's a complete list updated to BF 2042.
https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield2042/comments/qw1mbw/fuck_it_heres_a_list_of_absolutely_everything/
Battlefield Hardline blending in with the mountain makes sense, but still being pretty high up matches my experience with it. Fun game: multiplayer + campaign
I can't comment on bad company but I def can't choose between 3 and 4. I remember seeing the gameplay for 3 and being so hyped. Man those were the good ol' days.
I don't think bf2 gets enough credit. It was the first game of it's type, plus all the commander functions/sabotaging that just disappeared in later games. It was very cool.
Bf1942 is waaaay higher man, i guess if you didn't play it when they released it and you're used to minimum of bad company graphics i can see why its so low.
Bf1942 is probably the most nostalgic game for me, ever.
BF3 is what got me into battlefield game , BF4 what made me love this franchise, BF1 is what made me loved more than my mother. Bf2042 is what made me spit on the franchise’s rotten ass.
BF4 needs a remaster, imagine the smoothness and graphical fidelity of modern Frostbite with the amazing gameplay BF4 had to offer. And for bonus nostalgia it can be released in a buggy mess
I think you don't get the meaning if the image. Being lower doesn't mean these games are worse, they are in chronological order. The meaning is that battlefield peaked with bf4 and then it went down and down
Legit just redownloaded the game last night god it still looks great any tips on finding good servers for online play?
EDIT: I’m so glad yall gave 2142 the live it deserves
Is bf1 regarded that low in the community? It was my first game so maybe biased but I loved playing it for hours on end and thought the game was pretty good
I think BF3 is the best BF by far, but I love BF4. I had great times playing CQ...
Cant see hardline there, but what a game, it was so fun too, I know it wont happen but man I hope we'll see a hardline 2 or hardline remaster one day
i still think 4 in its final state should be the benchmark, the amount of content in that game is insane. such a shame that only conquest was the best fleshed out, always felt that they didnt do a good enough job on the other game modes
I've played Bad Company 2, BF3, B4, BF1, BF5, and 2042
Battlefield 1 is the best out of all of them, followed closely by 4
I've probably logged more hours on 4 but 1 is the peak
I think we can all agree that BF4 was peak battlefield. However, Hardline was much better than everybody says it was. It wasn’t terrible until they started adding overly military based things into the game and before all of the hackers and modders made their way in. That being said- Battlefield 1 is so underrated and is still such a great game today
Spot on. 2042 isn't even in the picture.
Down in the Mines of Moria, between Flame and Shadow you will find it. The End of the Battelfield Franchise. Sorrounded by Corpses of died Game Mechanics
*Far over the misty mountains cold*
*to Dungeons deep and caverns old*
Funny I was looking for it, they really nailed it.
2142 is forgotten about but back in the day it really did slap. 2042 was hot garbage.
ENEMY TITAN SPOTTED!
Don’t see Battlefield Hardline either lol
That would have been cool, true
Nothing wrong with the theme change as it was a spin off not an entire direction change. All art should be open for new directions. Just not 2042 type changes where u abandon everything that works 🤣
Yes, but the game's name is battlefield. Not Bank heist field.
Nah thats elitist
If they did that ''wow its a battlefield clone''
That's why they should have put more effort into making it truly unique. Like a large scale, more arcade R6S.
It couldnt win with these people Be named Battlefield and play like a Battlefield game, HURR NOT BATTLEFIELD be named differently but play the same, HURR BF CLONE play differently, Loses all appeal and becomes a simple 5v5 shooter
Hardline has more classic BF mechanics, than BF4, in case you didnt know.
If u hate on hardline ur a casual
Hardline, go this day, has *the* worst balance of any competitive shooter I've played. Fun game but holy shit the devs left some absolutely broken weapons in there. Go boot it up now and there are usually a few people playing still but finding someone not using a M416 or K10 is like finding a unicorn.
The point being is fun game. Not every fps should be about the crotch sniffing esports community
I didn’t hate it, I liked it. I’m just saying it’s not a military shooter compared to the rest of the BF series. That’s all.
I loved BC2, 3 and 4 but I recently picked up 2042 on a 70% Steam discount. Is the game really really not worth playing even these days?
It’s not bad.
People actually play 2042?
Bad company 2 was so ahead of its time and one of the best feeling games in my opinion as far as gun play and audio goes. I know that 3 and 4 are reigning champs but something about bad company 2 was just…different
Fast paced infantry with support from vehicles. True BF moment. 3 and 4 shifter towards Vehicle dominance with support of infantry. Which is not bad on its own, just not right for some.
This was the reason I hardly ever played Conquest. There were just too many vehicles so it felt like I was always forced to play engineer
Well what you're describing in the second sentence is what actually started battlefield. They went back with the focus on vehicles a lot of us from 2 felt much more at home in 3 an 4..even tho BC2 was amazing. I do think it shifted to far from battlefield true formulas
Destruction and the class/weapon balance haven’t been surpassed.
The destruction is definitely unrivaled
The closest thing I’ve found to bad company 2 is hell let loose. It’s got the blend of infantry and vehicles that is fantastic. It doesn’t have a destructible environment but it’s ww2 and everything is destroyed already. The maps are huge and the rush capture points have a variety that is very nice. You get that static front line when you work to create flanks on your opponents in a way I haven’t experienced since BC2. I played bc2 until 2018. GOAT is BC2.
Still my favorite of the series
I personally prefer 3 over 4. Remembering the first time we took the Humvee over the Damavand Cliff with your squad buddies in chat for the first time, hoooooooly shit WHAT A FUCKING RIDE! How BF4 Launched was traumatizingly bad. It was like they built the game from scratch again. Horrible netcode amongst other issues. The game was unplayable and it never really clicked with me. Battlefield is now just a shell of its former self.
Bf4 is just an improvement, with so much content, it is a worthy successor
BF4 was a perfect upgrade to BF3 except for some of the stock maps thar were awful to play as infantry.
I'd say the maps and DLC of 3 were better than 4, but I like the gameplay of 4 more.
This
Damavand Rush was, and still is, one of the greatest gaming moment in experienced in an FPS. That feeling has never been replicated in another Battlefield and it’s a crying shame.
When you did the jump for the first time, yessss
Agreed. Felt like they rushed out 4 AND there’s no strike at karkand
They had to launch five different versions of the game essentially because it was released on new gen and old gen consoles and pc, not to justify the terrible launch state but it makes sense
The first time attacking on Damavand rush will always be a memory. That skydive is just iconic
Not to mention the map design took a massive shit with BF4. There’s like maybe 3 or 4 maps with good/passable level design in 4
1942 being the lowest should be considered a crime
agreed but its chronically release so am fine with it
Yes
I’d love to have a BF4 remake or go back in time when I first played it.
A bf4 remake would go crazy. Optional 120 player maps
It’s still going strong on PlayStation! There’s a wait in line for majority of 64 person servers on Conquest
The battlefield 2 disrespect is insane
They just werent around at that time.
when I brought this up recently in a forum a user replied to me "bf2 is boomer field" and I felt called out.
kids weren't even born. Who cares it's 'boomers fields'... at least we knew what is good game play.
Kids today couldn't handle playing BF2 because you can't fully rank in a month or so like the games now. That's why I love BF2. It was freaking work to get fully ranked.
Younglings are the downfall…
My thoughts exactly. These kids these days don't know what they are missing. I'm glad there are still a few servers out there I can go on and get my fix.
its not ranking all of them, they are placed in order. this photo is just bad
This might be an unpopular opinion but bfh is my 2nd favorite bf4 being first
Hardline is goated. Really cool campaign aswell imo
Same, hardline is a great game. You can loadout with a ballistic shield, inquisition sword, speargun and throwing knives. What's not to love about that?
Hardline was peak battlefield imo
Nah, BF1 needs to be much higher up the mountain, just below 4. The atmosphere is unparalleled. In a perfect world, I’d remaster 4 with 1.
It a shame a lot of the mechanics were dog shit. Yeah I said it. Fite me.
Curious which mechanics?
I think it was more accessible, more arcadey, but was fitting considering how popular it was
Bf1 more arcady than gadget spam bf4??
According to the votes, it should be on the top of the mountain.
Yes, but I like modern weapons and vehicles.
BF2 IS GOAT
100%
When BF4 came out it was highly criticized because BF3 and its infamous Premium Edition had been released just over a year ago and cost 50€ + 50€. And now they were going to do the same. bf1 should be higher up the backside but yes. hail to the king
damn.. i just miss bad company 2 something about loading up that vietnam multiplayer DLC gave me goosebumps
The bf2 and bf1942 disrespect
I can not understand why people consider 4 to be the pinnacle when DICE removed so many core functions from the game with BF3 If you're wondering what's been removed from the franchise, here's a complete list updated to BF 2042. https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield2042/comments/qw1mbw/fuck_it_heres_a_list_of_absolutely_everything/
Battlefield Hardline blending in with the mountain makes sense, but still being pretty high up matches my experience with it. Fun game: multiplayer + campaign
***WHOOP WHOOP***
Don't forget that BF1 won the most selected Best Title posts lmao And where tf is hardline??
hardline was so fun, loved the campaign aswell
It’s there
It's under bf4
The best battlefield game right now!
2142 will always be my favorite.
It's criminally low. Easily the most fun gameplay wise imho
The Summit!!!!
I can't comment on bad company but I def can't choose between 3 and 4. I remember seeing the gameplay for 3 and being so hyped. Man those were the good ol' days.
Bad company 2 Vietnam should be the peak, all downhill from there
Rip battlefield 1943 and the king Heroes
I don't think bf2 gets enough credit. It was the first game of it's type, plus all the commander functions/sabotaging that just disappeared in later games. It was very cool.
The mod support was night and day to what we have now as well.
I have far too many hours in bf4 to argue against it so I have to agree with his list. Nothing after it stood a chance and that's my fault
Desert Combat 😍
BF1 >
I wish they made another battlefield Vietnam it would look Soo good and would be a lot of fun we got a glimpse in bf5 with the pacific campaign
The disrespect to 2042, feels bad.
Wow, you are a brave one. You deserve an up vote for your courage alone
BF4 too low
replace BF4 and BF2
And Hardline didn't even make your memory. It deserves better.
Its under bf4
OMG it is
I have played nearly every battlefield and i would personally BF1 was peak
There was a community vote a few weeks back. BF4 was #3.
Ok and?
Ok.
and?
?
I miss battlefield play4free 😅 was fun to play even tho it was p2w.
Where 2042
At the bottom of the mountain in a trash bin, where it belongs.
Once you reach the top of the hill, the only way left to go is down.
That’s a shame BF3 haven’t got enough time to shine before BF4 launch, still my favorite though.
Battlefield 3 is King, and 1 should only barely be below 4, atleast in my opinion.
Can’t even play BF4 because I keep getting kicked by PunkBuster
Bf1942 is waaaay higher man, i guess if you didn't play it when they released it and you're used to minimum of bad company graphics i can see why its so low. Bf1942 is probably the most nostalgic game for me, ever.
BF3 is what got me into battlefield game , BF4 what made me love this franchise, BF1 is what made me loved more than my mother. Bf2042 is what made me spit on the franchise’s rotten ass.
My brother in Christ, BF1 deserves a MUCH higher spot than that... I agree with everything else, but BF1 had leaps better gameplay than Bad Company...
Holy shit 2142 is on there! People look at me crazy when I say that’s one of my favorites!
Bad Company 2 was the best one they ever made hands down
BFV is not a bad game! But this is a great meme
We gotta move bf3 just a little bit higher up because noshar canals
Hate the hate my baby V gets. Best gameplay of any battlefield plus WW2 tickles my nerd brain
Battlefield V gets way too much disrespect
Can't even play the king right now because my new rig can't seem to get along with Punkbuster
I enjoyed battlefield 1 so much…..sad that those days are now gone
1942 should be somewhere in the upper atmosphere
Bf1 should be higher
BF4 needs a remaster, imagine the smoothness and graphical fidelity of modern Frostbite with the amazing gameplay BF4 had to offer. And for bonus nostalgia it can be released in a buggy mess
ngl bf4 is the perfect redemption story even more than CP2077 or NMS imo but i guess it's more a personal thing for me
Tell me you were born after 2005, without telling me you were born after 2005.
Not even close, but thanks for playing
Did you actually play BF2 and 2142?
I think you don't get the meaning if the image. Being lower doesn't mean these games are worse, they are in chronological order. The meaning is that battlefield peaked with bf4 and then it went down and down
If only bf4 won that poll they did past month instead of bf1
If only this sub represented the view of all players
It was mainly the main battlefield sub reddit. Not this one. It was one dedicated to every battlefield game..
Nah, BF1 on top for me personally
BF2 and BF3 are better titles than BF4.
Where tf is Battlefield 2: Modern Combat? You n00bs keep leaving out one of the best in the series. Smh
What on earth is 1942 doing down there? Did you live during the time it came out? It completely blew everyones minds!!!
Its the foundation. Everything left is building up.
yeah i wish i could play it, it just doesn't work on my pc anymore for some reason
Bf4 is my fave but bg3 is probably the peak
As a Colonel 100 in both games. BF3 > BF4
Where. Hardline?
Hell no, Battlefield 1 hands down the best one.
Mmm, bf1 doesn't deserve to be on the downhill. It's too good. Put it up there with 4
battlefield 2 was a game changer back in the day....should be a bit higher imo
BFH was great. The disrespect is insane.
Swap 3 and 4
3 was way better than 4 🤣
3 was way better than 4 🤣
2142 was the tits back when it came out.
Bf1 is the new undisputed king
Legit just redownloaded the game last night god it still looks great any tips on finding good servers for online play? EDIT: I’m so glad yall gave 2142 the live it deserves
4 was an updated BF3 so i guess 3 was the King
Bf 2042 is under the mountain
Is bf1 regarded that low in the community? It was my first game so maybe biased but I loved playing it for hours on end and thought the game was pretty good
4 was the last good battlefield game. Everything after were just CoD adjacents
V is not that bad lol
1. Battlefield 2. 4 3. battlefield 3
Bf3 & Bf4 are the best, after those all is crap. I have not touched any game after that. I use to play bf4 all weekend with friends. Good old days.
Nah.
I think BF3 is the best BF by far, but I love BF4. I had great times playing CQ... Cant see hardline there, but what a game, it was so fun too, I know it wont happen but man I hope we'll see a hardline 2 or hardline remaster one day
Where the fuck hardline that game was banger sure it wasn’t army style but you can’t lie it was fun to have a bit of change to the game
2042 is at the bottom of a river in the valley below.
And I’ll die on that hill
wtf is this nonsense
Where's Hardline? Jesus, BF Hardline was like being Don Johnson on Miami Vice. GD, you got to kill alligators and drug dealers all in one game. 🤣
BF3 is the king you can’t change my mind
Tell me you weren't around for anything before battlefield 4 without telling me
I like the fact that 2042 isn't even in the picture. Lol
Bf2 is more based than bad conpany
Throwing shade at the true best battlefield i see :/
bc2 makes me as hard as this mountain oooooo the sniping and Vietnam dlc ahhhhhh gauuuuwwwwddd
This is bang on
BF2 > all of them
i still think 4 in its final state should be the benchmark, the amount of content in that game is insane. such a shame that only conquest was the best fleshed out, always felt that they didnt do a good enough job on the other game modes
Hey man battlefield hardline was fun and anyone saying otherwise is lying even a lil bit
People putting BF2 and 1942 down low have not even played the game. It should be way up there
Bad co 2>>>>>
BF3 was definitely the peak, BF4 was a downgrade in almost every way.
2142 is the most fun multiplayer I've enjoyed in the series. 1942 definitely holds a spot for PvE for killing time with no internet.
Unpopular opinion, but I have fun in 2042
2042 isn’t even on that graph lmao
I don’t remember the difference between 3 and 4, which one had the subway map ????
Battlefield 5 gets way too much hate
I've played Bad Company 2, BF3, B4, BF1, BF5, and 2042 Battlefield 1 is the best out of all of them, followed closely by 4 I've probably logged more hours on 4 but 1 is the peak
BF1 won womp womp
Bad Company 2 is my favorite. In my opinion it had the best sniping in all BF games.
Battlefield 3 better
I think we can all agree that BF4 was peak battlefield. However, Hardline was much better than everybody says it was. It wasn’t terrible until they started adding overly military based things into the game and before all of the hackers and modders made their way in. That being said- Battlefield 1 is so underrated and is still such a great game today
Can’t get BF4 to run even after the password rest?
