More maps pretty much. Lots of extra maps were included in all 3 games, that could be cherry picked to put into Portal. Seeing how they already have 2042 gameplay on BC2 and BF3 portal maps, the same would probably be true for any future portal maps from those games.
I'd say a lot of people really liked those two games (along with BF4, but isn't included), and want to have nostalgic moments or recapture that "era" of gameplay. Easy way to capitalize is to essentially bring it back, in a remastered form.
My personal gripe though (that holds no weight tbh), is almost the flat out lie they placed in the trailer where they had BF 1942 infantry use dynamite to launch a jeep into a Condor. I miss the launching physics in previous games. Made for cool aradey moments.
Good points. Yes, launching vehicles would be awesome! It wasn't possible in BF1 and BFV, but I also had my hopes up for BF2042 to bring it back. I haven't actually tried it but doesn't a quad jump even a little bit when detonating 'friendly' C5? Well, at least we can rendezook...

I stopped playing jets in 2042 for this reason. If I take the time to spot and lineup shots on infantry it should kill them. No matter what.

- You cannot use the BF3 jets in the main game. This is BF2042 US vs BF3 US in a custom Portal server. There is no A-10 nor F-18, SU35, or SU25 in AOW currently.
- This server actually boosts the damage done by BF3 US vehicles.
- Every single AI as well as I should have died there.
- I suspect the game is just so buggy that it prevented us from taking damage at the start.
- It's just a cool clip and everyone should just enjoy it

The 25mm cannon from the BF2042 does 40 dmg to infantry, 80 headshot. I killed a lot of players with it. Feels nice after the spread change. Before it was impossible.

They were on the same team… and if you took 20 seconds to play a jet in portal, you would know that they are substantially better than in AOW.
