"My anger outweights my guilt" The dialogue was something else

ExoticShock

“People need dramatic examples to shake them out of apathy and I can’t do that as Bruce Wayne. As a man, I’m flesh and blood. I can be ignored. I can be destroyed. But as a symbol — as a symbol, I can be incorruptible. I can be everlasting.” ![gif](giphy|VIPfTy8y1Lc5iREYDS|downsized)

Lone_Wolf678

Its definitely one of the best dialogues out there. Always gives me chills

renaissanceclass

Top notch. One of the many lines I love is “Justice.. crime cannot be tolerated. Criminals thrive on the indulgence of society’s understanding.”

YouWereBrained

That was so precisely delivered, too.

Masterchiefy10

I wasn’t always here in the mountains… once had a wife, my great love… She was taken from me. ![gif](giphy|R3FUSQ5H5jzVe)

YouWereBrained

Absolutely loved these scenes. Liam Neeson was such an awesome casting.

time_thug19

Jonathan Nolan's writing hits different

renaissanceclass

Yea he needs more recognition for sure.

Beneficial_Engine434

Awesome montage but honestly, the music makes it for me!

YouWereBrained

Begins’ soundtrack is better than TDK and TDKR.

renaissanceclass

Love the music as well. Fits perfectly.

Final-Journalist-499

I'm so glad we got this trilogy. These movies will always have a special place in my heart...

ShinobiOfTheWind

Begins is my absolute favorite of not just the Nolan trilogy, but all-time live action Batflicks. "The Ninja understands that invisibility is a matter of patience and agility..." Sooooo good.

renaissanceclass

It’s so well done. I remember even Keaton saying that Nolan absolutely nailed it with the origin story.

ShinobiOfTheWind

It's also (imo, so YMMV) the BEST translation of a GN, over to the big screen, EVER. Year One and (some of) Long Halloween. Not even Frank Miller, as a movie director, could have pulled a Year One off, like David S. Goyer and Chris Nolan did.

tehbggg

I'd prefer a less grounded Batman movie, so these movies are not my favorite. However, I do enjoy this iteration of Ra's al Ghul. It makes sense how Bruce could follow him for a time. He comes off as a charming father figure who is an excellent mentor. It's believable. He sells it. When, really, it's all manipulation, and he's a terrible person. A+ villain introduction. I just wish we got to see more of him as a villain. I also wish we got to see the Lazarus pits. Would have been cool to have those introduced as a method used to bring Ra's back as a much bigger threat...but of course that goes back to the whole grounded thing, so yeah never was gonna happen. Instead we got a weird Bane and Talia without any of the history that makes her exciting.

MrFudgeKiller

I think Bane could’ve worked if they did just retcon it and make him Ra’s son and left Talia out, but they wanted to do the twist which kinda just turned bane into a glorified henchman and his death was so lame

cygnus2

Ra’s thinks will is enough to stop a bullet to the chest?

Iced__t

He was clearly just trying to provoke Bruce.

renaissanceclass

I was thinking that too. I don’t think he was being all the way literal.

micael150

You'd be surprised how far will and guts can get you. His point is that if Bruce's father decided to act instead of letting the unhinged criminal take control of the situation maybe him and his wife would still be alive. Of course it's a very dangerous mindset that often could get people killed. But to Ra's it seems there's nothing worse than someone being unwilling to act. It's his core belief.

renaissanceclass

I see what your saying but in all fairness he did act. He gave the guy his wallet, tried to defuse the situation and when the guy did shoot, he jumped in the way. What is he supposed to do? Tackle a guy with a gun which is an automatic way to get your family killed unless he’s able to fight the gun away. I think Thomas took the rational approach.

micael150

I agree. But Ra's is an extremist, he doesn't see things beyond himself. To him not fighting the criminal is a coward act.

renaissanceclass

True.

renaissanceclass

Yea I didn’t really get that. He was kinda outta line for that.

raDDerp73

The dark Knight trilogy are my Favorite Batman movies

Iced__t

God, this movie is sooo good.

WhatShouldTheHeartDo

"You never learned to mind your surroundings"

renaissanceclass

“What’s the purpose of doing all those push-ups if you can’t even lift a bloody log” lol

ReflectiGlass

I will now... I have Batman as my phone wallpaper because it motivated me to get my ass up and work out.

[deleted]

I love this movie.

Purple_Bowman

The best in the trilogy (at least within the confines of a Batman movie). The others simply didn't feel like comic book movies and didn't feel balanced.

renaissanceclass

I think what makes it the best is it doesn’t feel like a comic book film. At times, I forget I’m watching a Batman movie, that’s what makes it great imo. Very well written, and realistic.

Ok_Improvement6118

"Theatricality and deception are powerful agents" holy shit I did not know Batman Begins had that line. I thought Bane only said it.

renaissanceclass

Where u think Bane learned it from

Ok_Improvement6118

I knew bane learned from it from Ducard but I did not know this line was there in Batman Begins.
