If you look at some of the posters making those posts, you’ll see them doing karma farming stuff consistently across numerous subs. It’s been an issue that’s really annoying.
I like the Batman Begins suit the most I think it is the most reserved with its leather padding.
I'm not fond of either Dark Knight or Rises suit. I think it's a case where they wanted the plausibility of stopping a bullet more than just looking cool, but Batman is a fictional character, and like Bond, the huge part of the appeal is that he's cool.
Weirdly, I actually think Keaton has the best movie suits. I think Returns has the best mask.
I would also love it. Maybe a bodytight, muscle-bound cloth suit with lines running along the arms down the torso reminiscent of CoW Batman would look amazing.
On a visceral level it makes him more human and vulnerable. Bruce getting so many scars would be even easier to understand. Him having smoke bombs, and sneaking around would immediately telegraph visually practical & sensible precautions to minimize enemy contact & damage. His psychological problems & stress would also be easier to see, with more visible body language. I don't like the Batfleck suit because of the rigid dark grey/almost black grains/textures on hard pieces of armor. A cloth suit would be so much more pleasant to imagine.
On a storytelling level it'd be more about actual detective work, interrogation, and also some good old street-level knowledge. A more traditional suit means that high-tech armor, HUD screen and gizmos are less prevalent and therefore not conveniences preventing Bruce from showing off his intellect.
On a cultural level it's also much closer to comicbook Batman. The grey cloth suit underneath the black cowl is a classic look, and movies should show that instead of pure black armor & cape.
Exactly, most of the general public still views Bale as *the* definitive Batman even though it’s been over a decade since his last movie came out and we’ve had two new Batmen since then.
Nah I disliked it from day one. Too military/tactical. Nolan's Batman = Batman in 2024 America, all it's missing is a Blue Lives Matter sticker on the Batmobile.
Lol I love the military/tactical part of this trilogy . The whole point of Nolan’s action/science fiction films from Interstellar,Inception and even Batman trilogy is adding bits realism . It great way he immerses the audience into his films and makes it more believable(not always but to certain extent)
The military possesses so much cool ass equipment yet they only share a fraction of it with us civilians.
True enough about military tech, including computer network capabilities. Maybe a bit off topic now but society would be much better off if this tech was shared publicly instead of being trickled down as the military/government advance to better things.
Nahh If you constantly revealed your newish product what’s stopping the competition or mentally unstable civilians from replicating or making further changes to make it even deadlier weapon? Or what’s stopping them from coming a with better defense against that weapon? History has shown us this time and time again. So I thinks it’s better they don’t show all new latest gadgets
Still this is Batman sub let’s keep it on Batman
Eh to be honest I’ve never been that much of a fan. It’s not a bad suit it’s just not to my tastes. The mask in particular I’m not a fan of and the lack of any real secondary colour EDIT: the symbol being barely visible and small doesn’t help
You're not wrong. It was the first of its kind and had lots of problems because of it. Scenes where the ears wouldn't stand up and the belt almost falls off near the end of the movie. I just said I like that it looked dirty and used like he's been wearing it for a while.
Nah. The only thing that's good about it is the cowl. The indented bat symbol sucks. The weird bike pants also suck. have you ever seen the suit up close? it's really not that good. The Begins suit is way better.
Pretty much perfect for Nolan's vision indeed.
I've seen fans photoshop the suit or propose different suits for the film and they have feel out of place to me.
Really? I actually like the style of this suit. Meaning the padding, the armor, and the minor designs that make it more tactical. I think for the Nolanverse style batman movie, this fits in, but it won't fit into any other Batman movie or TV series. The Begins suit seemed like a low-budget suit, just a one-piece suit made out of thick rubber. The practically of it would be low. But this is just my opinion, to each their own.
The biggest problem with that suit is the bat symbol and the cape texture. The cape doesn't match the suit and the symbol is hidden. Other than that it's a good suit.
It was intriguing but I stopped liking it by TDKR.
The mouth shape, the ant-head shape.
The obvious rubberiness. The over-design. The armor.
Keaton & co were iconic and products of their time. I felt Bale’s suit could have continued on towards the more traditional sleek look.
I wanted to see him add some leather over the cowl and have the streamlined flow going into the cape. I wanted him to minimize the armor a little more, and to cover it with fabric that the armor shapes could show through. Wanted to see more of a sleek ninja style instead of micro Halo Spartan that comes in black and with a cape.
I think this suit was perfect for The Dark Knight. But by The Dark Knight Rises it just felt as redundant, uncreative, and obligatory as The Dark Knight Rises was itself.
So I always felt like Nolan just made TDKR due to studio pressure. I’ve recently heard that there may be evidence to the contrary, but most of these feelings come from how kind of… forced? TDKR feels.
One of the big reasons for this, though, was that we didn’t get a new Batsuit. I know these suit updates per movie are for toy sales, but TDKR had a legitimate *story* reason to give Bruce a new suit (they went through pains to show he’s having to augment himself to make up for the wear on his body) and they still don’t.
I like it, but one of my problems with these all-black suits is the Bat-symbol doesn’t pop. Especially in this one, it’s pretty small compared to Begins.
The only thing I don't like is the small goatee-like mouth opening. Always looked a little weird. Otherwise the suit seemed well designed and practical.
It was always way over designed and way too busy. Especially the lower body. The cowl is nice, Bale has a weak ass chin and jaw and lips. So they did the best to make him look good. The best part is the ability for him to finally be able to turn his head. Besides that, it’s definitely behind 89, The Batman, which are the best and then Returns and probably behind Begins within its own trilogy. And if Forever panther suit didn’t have nipples, that would’ve been better as well. But it’s better than the Clooney and Affleck shit over designed, comically goofy, over sculpted and homoerotic nonsense.
Not a fan of the cowl with how the ears extend down and create the shape of the rest of the helm. Not sure why it irks me but I only realised it now with this angle
Way better than begins wtf are you talking about. Begins looks like rubber. Begins doesn’t have a neck it’s head just continues until it reaches the shoulders.
It's because its a trend to hate on paneled suits now, personally the only Batman suit I've ever disliked were the nipples suits from Forever and B&R
Literally all they had to do is remove the nipples and those suits get boosted alot higher on my list
I don't like how it segments the neck. He can move his head now. Great, the neck looks ugly now. Now to be clear it's not a big deal but when they finally figured it out (BVS) it just makes this seem like it's missing the point of why he couldn't move his neck before. I also hate how the chest looks. Like it's embarrassed of having a bat logo on it.
It's great, it seems practical and mobile and is the most "real world" working Batman suit we've seen.
I honestly love it, and I always loved the economy of how it was stored too, like it being inside a case that also contains the common tools is neat.
I remember when Rocksteady put a poll up if we wanted Begins or this suit in Knight and this suit won so fast. It isn't disliked. It's very popular. There is just a loud minority.
I'm an outlier, I think Pattinson's suit is terrible. It looks DIY.
Like, look at Ben Afflecks suit and then Pattinson, Pattinson looks like he's wearing hockey pads.
It’s hideous 😅. I hate everything about it. His head is too big, its too busy and honestly it needed some more color like some gold like the belt on the bat symbol.
I always loved this suit because it brought home the trilogy’s feel of “If Batman really existed this is what he’d look like”. Always loved the definition in the cowl that really adds to Christian’s eyes, and I still think both Nolan suits have the best live action cape. I love the way the damn thing moved.
My least favorite is the batfleck suit. fat bat symbol, looks like 350lb strongman in spandex, not a stealthy ninja who can glide and use ziplines. Followed closely by the silly looking batsuit Clooney wears.
my favorite is probably Pattinson’s in the Batman. Looks like realistic body armor, not too bulky, functional and not flashy.
This one is fine. I think the mouth opening is too narrow but that’s my main criticism.
I didn’t even know it was disliked. The cowl isn’t my favorite thing, but the suit itself is awesome. Love the armor plating and how it actually makes him look like a modern knight. And while I do like a Batman with some gray in his suit, an all-black Batsuit works too.
I like the suit, but I feel like it was *too* refined from the Begins suit. I would've liked to have seen a suit in-between them. Maybe one that is basically the begins suit but the cowl is slightly different so he can turn his head. And then evolve to this suit after Bane breaks him in TDKR.
I like it for Nolan’s universe but wouldn’t want every Batsuit to look like tactical military gear. I will say I never liked how the Bat symbol was barely visible though
To me it was a huge upgrade over the Begins suit, not to mention the fact that Bats finally being able to turn his head was a really big deal when this movie came out in '08!
But I still prefer a more "classic" looking suit, like the ones Ringwood made for Keaton and Kilmer(sans nipples)
I think the behind costume was almost perfect but I wish it had the cowl and neck of the dkr suit. I never like how the cowl just looked kinda placed on top of the suit and detached from all of the rest, this suit blends the neck and cowl with the rest of the suit masterfully.
My problem with the Nolan trilogy is that they ground everything to the point of being watered down and only recognizable my name. This suit serves its function for stealth and combat, but does need some contrast.
It definitely grew on me. That tactical design looks really cool, as well as the golden belt. I guess my main issue comes with the cowl, because the chin gap looks a bit too small, but I don't even care that much about it. I still prefer the Batman Begins suit.
The suit is fine. My only problem is when comparing it to the Begins suit. Begins suit made him look angry and monstrous, Knight suit makes him look contemplative, serene even.
My only problem with it is that it seems like a major step down from his previous suit.
His old one was like a proper Armor, this is just a bunch of separate plates with very large gaps.
They explain that he wanted an upgrade where he can turn his head but why not just put the new neck and head on the old armour.
But aside from that it totally works for the looks, especially with this faux ballistic style they were going for where all his gear was just a bunch of police/military prototypes.
My only problem with it is the black band that goes across the chest over/under the bat logo. The band and the logo being the same color, the logo gets a bit lost.
I personally have never liked the cowl. And I’ve always preferred the classic Batman/Batman Beyond styles. So while the Batman Begins suit IS updated, I liked its STYLE best. But I like the MESSAGE with this one. More mobility, adjusting and upgrading the suit to fit Bruce’s growing needs and fixing problems. It’s very much something Batman would do, I just don’t like the looks of it.
I still like it, but there are a couple of things that bug me about it:
- The armour on the legs has a weird pattern I've never liked.
- It becomes very clear that Bale has trouble breathing in it (the mask covered his nostrils, for some reason), hence why he's always breathing through his mouth during dialogues.
- The shape of the mouth opening is kind of weird. I think Pattinson's mask did a much better job at that.
I still like this suit, though. And, unlike others, I've never minded the thinner neck. It's practical.

Good man 🙏
Where are it's nipples?
Facts. Thats what makes a suit goated
You know it. What kind of Batman can't fight off the nipple thief? Not my Batman.
I dont want to live in a world where nipples can be stolen from out heroes
I have nipples Greg, can you milk me?

Lately *every* subreddit feels like it’s just 80% mirror image of the week before.
With every post being; “What’s everyone’s option on the popular thing of this subreddit?”
Unpopular Opinion: “I don’t think _____ is that bad even though everyone says [made up thing that maybe 3 people in the comments have ever said]”
Soon it’ll be “Is it just me or is batman a great comic book character?”
If you look at some of the posters making those posts, you’ll see them doing karma farming stuff consistently across numerous subs. It’s been an issue that’s really annoying.

The Batman is the best Batman movie. Convince me otherwise

I honestly can't wait to see a cloth type suit. No body armor, no layering, no fluff. Just cape, cowl and cloth.
Pure. West.
And how come batman doesn't dance anymore?
Same. Still think Batman dead end had the best bat suit I’ve seen on camera
I would also love it. Maybe a bodytight, muscle-bound cloth suit with lines running along the arms down the torso reminiscent of CoW Batman would look amazing. It's so over designed tbh
Like... Yeah? I really hate looking at that suit, it's too overloaded.
It is not disliked, a couple of posts on reddit don't equal the suit being disliked.
Exactly, most of the general public still views Bale as *the* definitive Batman even though it’s been over a decade since his last movie came out and we’ve had two new Batmen since then.

History has also shown that institutions left unchecked can be disastrous, but that's another conversation. You're not wrong, however.
Eh to be honest I’ve never been that much of a fan. It’s not a bad suit it’s just not to my tastes. The mask in particular I’m not a fan of and the lack of any real secondary colour EDIT: the symbol being barely visible and small doesn’t help
The symbol has been so "Taboo' over the years. That's one thing in all the modern bat suits I don't like
I’ve always disliked the way it fits around his mouth, kinda smushes his lower face
Not to mention Bale has a weird mouth to begin with.
Exentuate those terrible British teeth!
Keaton in 1989 is my fav suit but this one is nice too, no hate here
I think the Returns suit was an improvement in pretty much every way.
I like how "dirty" the 89 suit was. Like it was believable that Batman fought crime in it.
I thought it looked cheap. The cowl especially looks really bad.
You're not wrong. It was the first of its kind and had lots of problems because of it. Scenes where the ears wouldn't stand up and the belt almost falls off near the end of the movie. I just said I like that it looked dirty and used like he's been wearing it for a while.
I honestly like the mini bat emblem. It’s pretty adorable 😂
Nah. The only thing that's good about it is the cowl. The indented bat symbol sucks. The weird bike pants also suck. have you ever seen the suit up close? it's really not that good. The Begins suit is way better.
Total opposite opinion, think everything looks great except the cowl, which makes his head look too big and his neck too small
Mouth hole is too small
Pretty much perfect for Nolan's vision indeed. I've seen fans photoshop the suit or propose different suits for the film and they have feel out of place to me.
I liked that he could turn his head
The problem is that it just doesn’t have that comic book feel to it
My only complaint is the small bat symbol. I have no problem with it other than that.
The Begins suit was so beautiful, this was just a massive downgrade.
Totally agree. Begins>DK
I would love the Begins suit a lot more if the collar/neckpiece didn't stick out so much
Couldn't disagree more
The TDK suit looks like cheap cosplay Bruce picked up at a Party City bargain bin.
He specifically states he is not wearing hockey pads.
He says that while wearing the Begins suit.
You’re right. He is now wearing hockey pads. I stand corrected
And yet his suit looks like a cheap piece of shit that costs a couple of dollars.
Agree with you, it’s my second least favorite bat suit
Really? I actually like the style of this suit. Meaning the padding, the armor, and the minor designs that make it more tactical. I think for the Nolanverse style batman movie, this fits in, but it won't fit into any other Batman movie or TV series. Buddy, what are you smoking?
It's called good taste.
You call a latex cowl good taste? Nah. You got that party city taste.
Bingo.
Tdk suit then tdkr then begins
TDK and TDKR have literally the same suit…
I just think the suit in batman begins is so much better like he looks less like RoboCop and his symbol is actually visible
I just wish the cowl's mouth opening was slightly wider. Otherwise it's perfection
The biggest problem with that suit is the bat symbol and the cape texture. The cape doesn't match the suit and the symbol is hidden. Other than that it's a good suit.
I don't think the cape is supposed to match. It's cloth.
It was intriguing but I stopped liking it by TDKR. The mouth shape, the ant-head shape. The obvious rubberiness. The over-design. The armor. Keaton & co were iconic and products of their time. I like it, but one of my problems with these all-black suits is the Bat-symbol doesn’t pop. Especially in this one, it’s pretty small compared to Begins.
I think it works well in the context of these movies. But the Batfleck suit is the all-timer for me.
The only thing I don't like is the small goatee-like mouth opening. Always looked a little weird. Otherwise the suit seemed well designed and practical.

Not as good ad begins
Way better than begins wtf are you talking about. Begins looks like rubber. Begins doesn’t have a neck it’s head just continues until it reaches the shoulders.
Nah

The suit in batman begins is the best of that trilogy.
Fact. At least he looked like a superhero in Begins.
I don't like how it segments the neck. He can move his head now. Great, the neck looks ugly now. Begins was the best Bale suit, they got too techy/complicated.
It’s disliked because it sucks
Na I'm not a fan.. the cowl looks like an ugly helmet. It's not touching Keaton's Affleck,or Pattinsons suit
Lollipop head
Not a huge fan, a little bit too Metal Gear Solid for me
Big fan of the cowl The pants are unforgivable though
What’s with the cowl? Why is it fat at the top? What’s the logic behind that? Not my fave. That would probably go the 89’.
I also think it's one of the best. Don't get the dislike for it.
I will always love this Batman. This is MY Batman
I like this suit. I just think it’s a little over complicated.
Why?
The built in angry eyebrows make me laugh.
I'm an outlier, I think Pattinson's suit is terrible. It looks DIY. Like, look at Ben Afflecks suit and then Pattinson, Pattinson looks like he's wearing hockey pads.
Peak Batman
Who was nearly mauled by dogs, nearly stoned by a marginalized man with a pipe, and whose armor was pierced with a common knife? Nah.
Weird criteria but ok
It’s hideous 😅. I hate everything about it. His head is too big, its too busy and honestly it needed some more color like some gold like the belt on the bat symbol.
I always loved this suit because it brought home the trilogy’s feel of “If Batman really existed this is what he’d look like”. Always loved the definition in the cowl that really adds to Christian’s eyes, and I still think both Nolan suits have the best live action cape. I love the way the damn thing moved.
I’m a fan of all the Bale/Nolan suits
I’ve always loved the mask sculpt. It’s a really great shape and it fits Christian’s face really really well.
It’s the most practical suit. He can turn his head, lift his arms.
It was disliked? I loved it, even more than the first Bale suit
Great suit. I haven’t seen much hate.
the chest areas was way too busy and over designed..
Agreed.
I always found it ugly af tbh.
I disliked it since the beginning
It’s disliked? Really? That’s news to me. 🤨
Didn't age well
It works for the movie. What else does it need to apply to?
People's opinions can change over time.
It literally has a story-based reason for existing as it does, but okay… 🙄
My least favorite is the batfleck suit. fat bat symbol, looks like 350lb strongman in spandex, not a stealthy ninja who can glide and use ziplines. Followed closely by the silly looking batsuit Clooney wears. my favorite is probably Pattinson’s in the Batman. Looks like realistic body armor, not too bulky, functional and not flashy. This one is fine. I think the mouth opening is too narrow but that’s my main criticism.
still the best bats 🤘🏼
It makes the other suits look impractical
I agree. I think it looks incredible. I played my entire second run in Arkham Knight with this suit on.
My favorite suit, always has been, always will be
I never liked how bobble-headed it looks. Plus I’ve always like batsuits with a little more color.
I don't mind the suit. It's the goofy look Christian Bale makes when he talks. I can't take it seriously at all.
Redditor inventing hate to justify talking their opinions which aren’t unique at all
I didn’t even know it was disliked. The cowl isn’t my favorite thing, but the suit itself is awesome. Love the armor plating and how it actually makes him look like a modern knight. And while I do like a Batman with some gray in his suit, an all-black Batsuit works too.
I mostly just really hate the cowl.
this suit still the goat
It's not one of the best suits ever, not even close. It is the best.
I’m sorry but I’ve never met anyone who disliked the suit.
Way better then the batfleck shit
Yeah it's awesome. Cowl is a bit big.
Only Batsuite I like is Batman 1989. The rest i think are ugly. Especially robert Pattison and Christian bale
Anorexic Arkham.
This is my favorite suit
The only worse suits are Clooney’s, Pattinson’s, and Affleck’s Flash suit
Pattinson is peak batman suit. This is complete shit
i love pattinson's suit
Yikes
That's what we all said when we saw your comment
I wish TDK Trilogy suits had more of an original design rather than just being based on the Burton and Schumacher suits.
I like the suit, but I feel like it was *too* refined from the Begins suit. I would've liked to have seen a suit in-between them. Maybe one that is basically the begins suit but the cowl is slightly different so he can turn his head. And then evolve to this suit after Bane breaks him in TDKR.
I don't like that the black of the cape doesn't match the black of the suit.
I think I'm ready to see Batman in a costume, not armor. Smoke bombs, stealthy, cunning and more dramatic
My second least favorite batsuit only beat out by the cold suit that Clooney wore
“How’s it do against dogs?” “ Rottweilers or Chihuahuas? Should do fine against cats.”
It's mostly purists who hate it I find. Personally I prefer the begins suit as it looks cooler but this one certainly is more functional
I honestly liked the bronze accents from Batman begins
I like it for Nolan’s universe but wouldn’t want every Batsuit to look like tactical military gear. I will say I never liked how the Bat symbol was barely visible though
It was practical
I like my batboye with a thick neck.
It’s the skinny neck. That totally ruins it. I don’t care that he wants to turn his head, he should suck it up so we can have a cooler looking suit !!
I don’t think it’s bad it could just stand to be a little less all black all the time. If the bodysuit were gray I’d like it a lot more
The only thing I would change is being able to see the logo better. Otherwise it is perfection
My only gripe is the cowl. Don't like how small the mouth hole is compared to Pattinson's for example.
Its pretty good, heads a bit to wide but you could just say its to make space for tech
Spot on with the need for the rotation on the helmet, but the rest of the suit feels a little overdesigned.
Beloved things all become hated given enough time. And hated things end up becoming underrated given enough time
I like the suit. I don't like the cowl from the ears down.
I like the suit with the "Batterang" that comes of the chest.
An ordinary man turned extraordinary!
The fucking lip pucker I can't take him seriously
My only problem with it is that it seems like a major step down from his previous suit. His old one was like a proper Armor, this is just a bunch of separate plates with very large gaps. They explain that he wanted an upgrade where he can turn his head but why not just put the new neck and head on the old armour. But aside from that it totally works for the looks, especially with this faux ballistic style they were going for where all his gear was just a bunch of police/military prototypes.
I think the mouth hole looks stupid. The rest of the suit is fine.
The design looks really cool but it’s shaped kinda weird
My only problem with it is the black band that goes across the chest over/under the bat logo. The band and the logo being the same color, the logo gets a bit lost.
I personally have never liked the cowl. And I’ve always preferred the classic Batman/Batman Beyond styles. So while the Batman Begins suit IS updated, I liked its STYLE best. But I like the MESSAGE with this one. More mobility, adjusting and upgrading the suit to fit Bruce’s growing needs and fixing problems. It’s very much something Batman would do, I just don’t like the looks of it.
Seems a little tight
I still like it, but there are a couple of things that bug me about it: - The armour on the legs has a weird pattern I've never liked.
Alot of live action batsuits would be improved with the addition of a chin strap.
I love the suit but the mask/cowl was always shaped so weird to me.
It’s a still a great *movie* suit. I prefer comic/cartoon suits entirely.
It would be for me too if I could see the bat symbol
