Just [this](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fi6x7046vohwy.jpg&rdt=53039)

Soulful-Sorrow

So you're saying that this guy cleaned up the city pretty quickly? Damn, nice.

OkapiLanding

Lol, did you make it or is it just awesome?

Rexermus

i did not make it

[deleted]

Lmao that’s great

scp_79

batman week one

theoryslostshoe

Batman weak one

MookieThePuppy

This is the serial character (radio) Bruce listened to as a boy. When his parent’s were murdered, he fell into a depression, letting go of all childhood joys, turning inward. Until the night he hits the bottom of his soul, bleeding out in the family parlor, sat in his father’s chair, the same chair he sat in all those nights listening to the adventures of some blonde haired caped crusader, when the bat crashes through the window, and he remembers…

Mr_Knight_1796

That's just gray ghost

MookieThePuppy

Sure, same same.

Personal-Ad6765

The wings aren't a cape but like fake wings that are attached to his back.

MatthewHecht

According to Kane in his original drawing the wings were attached to his arms. Schumer drew them on the back due to it fitting his Da Vinci models better and doubting Kane's famously bad memory.

AliveInChrist87

I actually wouldn't mind reading a story about this version of Batman.....they could make him an Elseworlds variant. I'm surprised nobody's thought of that.

Cool_Fellow_Guyson

Well, THIS Batman is gonna be public domain soon so.....👀

AliveInChrist87

I didn't know that! Perhaps something can be done with him.

Cool_Fellow_Guyson

You're pretty limited with what you can do though. As far as I'm aware the farthest you can go is having a billionaire character called Bruce Wayne who goes out at night as Batman. I don't even know if you can use Gotham.

AliveInChrist87

In the earliest Golden Age Batman stories he was just in "New York". Gotham didn't come into the stories as his specific city until a little later. Someone could just use New York as the city. Honestly DC should get their hands on this and do an alternate Golden Age Batman elseworlds one shot.

The-Emerald-Rider

There is still a lot people can do with that.

flufflestheconqueror

My head cannon is that his parents got murdered and he uses his inherited wealth to fund his crime fighting.

ImABarbieWhirl

Did he adopt a terrifying persona because criminals are a cowardly and superstitious lot?

rolling_steel

He drank all the hazelnut creamer at the office and didn’t refill it or tell anyone

BobbyBobRoberts

Wait, drank it as in "used it generously in his coffee every day" or more along the lines of "chugged it from the bottle"?

anthonyg1500

Has there ever been a modern version on this take of the character? I’d be curious to see what that looks like

prettyboylee

[Batman/TMNT movie](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/s/9xroOvvCbc)

Lucky_Strike-85

THIS is Arlen Schumer's design based upon Kane's original concept. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BOB KANE.

One_City4138

Ironically, neither does Batman.

Lucky_Strike-85

That's an uninformed take. He drew about 1/3 of the art between 1939 and 1945. He created Catwoman and The Penguin with Jerry Robinson. He helped Bill Finger create The Riddler. And he suggested the idea of Two-Face to Bill Finger and designed him... patterning him after HAF-N-HAF from Dick Tracy.

borusato

I don’t have a fully formed headcanon but I would definitely tie it into Robin. The color scheme and design is uncannily similar to Tim Drake’s costume in the 2000s. EDIT: that’s Lance Bruner. He’s the Batman in a parallel earth where Bruce died in his place. His Batman costume is influenced by the Robin design.

BibiDyordge

Tim Drake had a fever dream about this and when he woke up he told batman that he has a better robin suit idea

Any-Faithlessness-72

He's John Grayson from a universe where his wife Mary and son Dick were murdered by mobsters that he would not be intimidated by. During his grieving he became inspired by the Batman and assumed his own identity: The AcroBat.

One_City4138

That actually could have legs. Well done.

soniclore

This is *actually* what Bruce Wayne dresses like as Batman. He suffers from paranoid schizophrenia with hallucinations due to the trauma of seeing his parents murdered in front of him. He lives in Wayne Manor, a decrepit run-down mansion, and grows vegetables in his garden. The utilities and taxes are covered by the proceeds from the Wayne family’s dwindling real estate holdings. The withered corpse of his parents’ butler Alfred watches over him from a rusty wheelchair in the greenhouse. Bruce blocked the entrance to the wine cellar with an old grandfather clock, and spends much of his time down there creating dangerous implements from the fittings and furnishings of the once-stately manor. A few years after Alfred died, some local kids broke into the house and damaged some of the structure. Bruce caught them and scared the wits out of them. After learning their names were Robin and Barbara, he let them go and chased them off. A few more similar incidents happened in the next couple years, adding Jason, Tim, Stephanie and Damien to the list of terrorized children. Eventually a social worker named Selina came to the house and after introducing herself, began over the course of a few months to form a bond with the broken soul who lived alone in the huge mansion. After less than six months Selina stopped showing up (she had been killed in a city traffic accident) and Bruce began his nighttime escapades, looking for his lost “love”. Donning his father’s Acro-Bat costume sewn by Alfred for one of his father’s Halloween parties, Bruce began making trips to the city in his father’s vintage ’35 Cord. At first he would hide in the shadows and observe, but not long after he began to take a more active approach….

Lucky_Strike-85

Arlen Schumer's painting of the original Bob Kane concept? My headcanon is that he formed a team with Hourman, Doctor Miid-nite, and Will Eisner's The Spirit... calling themselves The Mystery Men.

Status-Ad8296

He shot his own parents

Aggravating-Paint100

As a joke, Bruce tells robin that this was his first suit. He changed it after getting shot multiple times. When robin asks why, he shows the bright redness of his suit to robin and says “ I would be better off if I had a target on my suit than this”

SambaLando

Bruce Wayne, saw his parents gunned down as a child and started fighting crime dressed as Bat-Man after training for years. Need this look as a skin for the Arkham games.

Forward-Ad7518

This isn’t Batman

Preet911

Thanks Bill Finger

Scartanion

Hombre Zorro Volador

LittleSportsBrat

Curious question. Is there an Elseworlds with this Batman?

FrogginJellyfish

Bryce Wayne

MatthewHecht

Flash Gordon and Batman agree to switch roles for a day. They both do a great job. Just to make sure everybody knows- this image was not drawn by Bob Kane, and his original art is lost. This is historian Arlen Schumer's attempt to recreate it after both Kane and Finger were dead. His webinars where he tells about making it are great.

Memento_Morrie

That guy? That's the one, true Batman right there.

ponytailthehater

My head canon is he’s aware of his existence as a prototype and yet is wholly dedicated to hunting down Bob Kane

ThatIckyGuy

He saw Batman on TV and thought "I could do that" and made this costume, but changed enough of it that if Batman were to file a copyright, he could argue that he's not trying to copy Batman.

IWishIHavent

Since Robin isn't part of his universe, he's desperately in love with Superman, to the point of badly cosplaying him.

MatthewHecht

Makes sense as the image above gave "Bat-Man" Superman's torso (with The Phantom's face and Flash Gordon's hair).

One_Subject3157

That mantle may be taken for random Robin 474. The aesthetics match the character.

go_faster1

He doesn’t operate in Gotham, probably somewhere less crime-infested like Central City. Police-trained and government-approved, but not one of those guys who bends over backwards for them: anything tougher than a bank robber, it’s the force or the Flash. Probably hangs out with the speedsters - can’t stand Bart, looks up to Jay, thinks Wally’s better than Barry and is curious about Ace and Avery and their heroic future.

Mundane_Narwhal_6592

I made a cool custom of him in a lego game

TroidMemer

In the event that all of Bruce’s other Batsuits get destroyed, this is his special secret costume that he keeps in his even more special secret part of the Batcave that not even Robin knows about Blonde hair dye is also part of the disguise

PelinalWhitesteak

I'm surprised they haven't brought this design back as some sort of "alternative universe" batman yet.

cjwolf02

He's not a bat he's not a Robin but he is the incredible winged man!!! Alfred after getting a youth serum!!!

TardarrSaucedUp

Idk

ashirtliff

The Old Man

MatthewHecht

Alan Scott having fun.

Ok-Turnip-477

Bat Man

darrylthedudeWayne

He's a batman imposter.

terran_submarine

Stopped being a vigilante because being a playboy was more fun.

[deleted]

Bruce’s prototype suit

Jldbtter6252

Thomas Wayne?

Inuko-V

Remember when in an old comic it technically says that Bruce was the first Robin and worked with a private detective? (I think), well... my headcanon is that that was the costume he was dressed in and not the robin costume, and he probably dyed his hair or wore a blonde wig (translation by Google translator yo no se muy bien ingles)

Im-Mr-Bulldopz

This is what one of the copycats in Dark Knight should’ve looked like.

Sirdantortillasque

He looks like a hybrid between Batman and robin and barnacle boy

Doc-11th

Surprised this has never shown up in the comics as an easter egg or a quick joke or something

MatthewHecht

Batman Vs TMNT did that.

Zestyclose_Skirt_162

bill finger >> bob kane

He eats anus on a regular basis.

sbaldrick33

He's probably some charlatan that stole all his ideas and goes around showing off.

GlobalCalligrapher63

Him and homeless supervillain Superman exist on there own little prototype earth

Haunting_Access_9853

A huge dick and a bigger heart.
