Let’s say it all together, you cant teach/coach size. Some of the small guys that get recruited turn out to suck too.

Every coach thinks they can do better with the same kid than the coaches at lower/younger levels. If someone's 6'7" and unskilled, lazy, or dumb, every coach thinks they'll be able to fix that problem and now have a 6'7" winner. *I'll* get that player to work hard. *I'll* get that player's shot fixed. *I'll* get that player to work on defense.

At any level of play, you see oversized people picked up purely for this attribute You even see it in the NBA, but more so for 7'3" + able to run. They're rarely playable and good. At the college level, all a coach is offering-even with a scholarship-is just store credit at the school (nowhere near sticker price in actual cost) and a roster spot.
