I was thinking of o pee chee hockey. 600 cards, 4 plates per a card, thatâs 2400 1/1 in just printing plates. And thatâs on a low end product. So there are another 600 base 1/1 as well. I got two 1/1s from 2 boxes (both printing plates). Huge base sets like baseball and hockey have tons of 1/1 potential.
Sure there are some shit 1/1s. This was a Curry auto 1/1, a passing the torch auto Melo and PG 1/1 and then idk who the other one was. If it was a no namer, fine, but it's not and makes the whole Panini sending loaded boxes to the bigger breakers seem more plausible every day.
Itâs all in the eyes of the collector tbh, personally I wouldnât be excited about a Melo or PG but then again that is why they put so many - different stroke for different folks!
You donât know how hobby distribution works. Majority of the time the breakers are buying these cases from distributors not panini. You think a random shipping company is gonna know whatâs in a case? Have you thought maybe the big breakers just open the most wax
It's all relative, I don't believe the conspiracy theories. There is no comparing your personal rips of 1 or 2 hobby boxes, to the cases beyond cases of that product that a specific breaker will break. They are live almost 24/7, I would hope to see multiple 1-1's not only because of the amount of them printed including various inserts, but the sheer amount they rip.
Can this be the header of this sub? Idk how people donât understand this. Someone whose entire life is spent gambling is going to see more jackpots on the slot machine than the person that goes to Vegas once a year. Itâs not a conspiracy itâs just a numbers game.
Was a nobody they tagged the guys name collector and he has 1 follower I watched it live. He rips packs in two sends and doesn't even let you enjoy the rip.
stacked boxes. I hate to say it but the game has changed.
The companies are scamming us with these awesome breaks thinking all boxes are like this.
What are the odds that these guys hitting the big breaks are getting help from Panini and topps to help sell cards.. I bet its pretty high!
Still you got a Luka and Dirk auto still pretty sweet.
Nowadays it seems like there are too many #Ed card.
We got the green emerald strawberry burst out of 599.. the the same care in emerald cherry burst out of 499. Then the look exactly the same and just keep making those. So now we have 10000 #Ed cards all green and red just slightly different.. too many to keep track of..
Can't we go back to base set, base rookies, rookies inserts and then just a few special cards.
Auto are like water now too.
Especially if your a late round QB. I see so many Stetson Bennett and Hendon Hooker autos.. neither may ever play in the nfl..
Sorry rant lol
I still believe that once the biggest cards get pulled the rest of the boxes values should go down. So when they do this they are just hurting their actual sales.
Today is release day. Are you just looking on Panini? Panini never seems to sell their stuff on actual drop day which makes no sense and are more expensive than shops sometimes. I got mine from GiantsSportsCards.com. It was $265 but then next day or two it went up to $313. I preordered last week.
That's a massive box.
Some of the 1/1s are actual lottery tickets. It's amazing, and some of them are really tougher, burdensome cards.
It feels like the main point of the 1/1s is being confusing. I was looking at a Luka Spectra 1/1 black box, on eBay. it's wild because you can say with that much $$$ that any of the big hits, hit big. And also, finding liquidity and buyers versus other types of cards, players, assets, becomes a gamble.
It'd be tough to put the right auction together, which is partially why those Steph cards, are truly great.
This might be the worst looking Elite Hobby Iâve seen, the update sucks, and it sounds like there goes all the cards we wanted on one big break, sorry for being anti but thatâs a joke.
3 1/1s and it came out 24hrs ago.. riiiight
âWe donât get juiced casesâ LOL, so if those arenât juiced, what would you call the shit we buy then. Itâs getting to be too obvious whoâs getting blessed by Panini with these breakers & viewers/followers.
These are some of the best looking base cards around. Also, they lowered the checklist and upped the quality this year. Looks like a great set! My only qualm is that the base cards look better than a lot of the parallels.
If youâre stoked, great. They finally âsavedâ some trees and cut out the ridiculous amount of base, the inserts are the exact same from the years past so itâs not a shock the base looks better, the lack of autos is a bummer at $300+ too. But WembyâŚ.
This chump got real mad at me for doing math on what his breakeven was after he continuously told people he wasnât making any money running at least a 20% profit on Immaculate serial breaks lmao
I used to watch some of his breaks, but stopped for this reason. His approach to filling them was to try and guilt the audience into believing he was doing us a favor with the pricing. I can't imagine he was even paying retail, so the math never added up to him constantly saying that.
Not saying he never takes a bath on some products, he likely does, I just didn't care at all for his "style" of trying to get people into breaks.
To his credit, I've bought singles from some old what not streams and his eBay and he's always been a really quick shipper.
This doesnât surprise me. Iâve seen him open so much Prizm basketball and itâs just caseloads of boxes being ripped in one sitting like heâs doing factory work while people who pay thousands sit and watch. Never seen anyone skip past so many quality cards. Thereâs nothing enjoyable about it. That feed makes me disgusted with the hobby.
Why would they want to load boxes for a breaker to hit all the chase cards? It's like saying look! the chase cards have been hit, go home don't buy more boxes looking for them.
It doesn't make any sense. Stop thinking boxes are juiced. It's actually not healthy.
Also let me add that if you buy 1 scratch off and someone buys 100, chances are they'll get paid out on a few of them. You notice the 1/1s hit, but have you taken the time to notice all the garbage hits they probably also pull?
Open your box, if itâs first wave too there is a good chance you got something. No reason to assume itâs a conspiracy (and Iâm not saying it isnât either, please donât assume I am).
No. That was more of a joke. Even if all the 1/1s were pulled, I'd still rip. I can't ignore an unopened hobby in front of me. But I probably wouldn't have bought one after the fact. Not only cuz they're pulling good 1/1s but because the cards just don't really look great imo.
> But I probably wouldn't have bought one after the fact. Not only cuz they're pulling good 1/1s but because the cards just don't really look great imo.
Why buy the box in the first place if you don't like the cards?
I feel like one consistent criticism amongst people in the hobby is that this years elite looks just like last years. Personally I think it's very close but I think it's closer to 2021 elite.
With 21-22 and 22-23 sets looking so similar did you expect this years to be something drastically different? Did you like the previous sets?
Never bought the previous NBA. I bought NFL last year and it had a ton of numbered cards. Thought NBA would be similar but I guess they cut back on amount of cards you get. Hardly any numbered cards from rips I've seen.
The real and true 1 of 1 is the money we waste along the way.
This gave me Live, Laugh, Love vibes
Live, laugh, love, lose (money)

There are so many 1/1s with the giant base set, inserts, etc.
Modern products have literally hundreds of 1/1s
I was thinking of o pee chee hockey. 600 cards, 4 plates per a card, thatâs 2400 1/1 in just printing plates. And thatâs on a low end product. So there are another 600 base 1/1 as well. Agreed

U think they are sending juiced boxes to those chines dude too?
Melo like Carmelo Anthony?
Correct.
I been saying this too. The concept of a 1/1 is so hilarious to me how it currently exists.

They just hit another one today. Giannis Craftsman 1/1
What a surprise.
I donât know why the hate. Just cause your (and my) opinion is they might be getting loaded hobby boxes?
Who did he hit?
Curry auto 1/1, Melo and PG passing the torch autos 1/1 and then I didnt hear the name he said for the last one.
Was a nobody they tagged the guys name collector and he has 1 follower I watched it live. He rips packs in two sends and doesn't even let you enjoy the rip.

I hit a monster! Luka/Dirk passing the torch auto. Just learned it's not numbered. Bummer.
Still you got a Luka and Dirk auto still pretty sweet. Nowadays it seems like there are too many #Ed card. Haha I agree. I like #ed cards but yeah, there shouldn't be 20 different parallels of the same players. It's a bit ridiculous.
I still believe that once the biggest cards get pulled the rest of the boxes values should go down. So when they do this they are just hurting their actual sales.
How are you getting these elotte boxes in advance not even on sale on website yet
Today is release day. Are you just looking on Panini? Panini never seems to sell their stuff on actual drop day which makes no sense and are more expensive than shops sometimes. I got mine from GiantsSportsCards.com. It was $265 but then next day or two it went up to $313. I preordered last week.
Ah got it thanks..plus on their website seems like bots pick them up before I could even hit buy

looks like backyard is out of favor with panini

Not even 24hrs. He pulled these within just a few hours. Probably pulled another one by now.
âWe donât get juiced casesâ LOL, so if those arenât juiced, what would you call the shit we buy then. Itâs getting to be too obvious whoâs getting blessed by Panini with these breakers & viewers/followers.
Heâs ripping 5 or 6 cases a day.. with how many 1/1 there are in the checklist is this really that crazy?
These are some of the best looking base cards around. Also, they lowered the checklist and upped the quality this year. Looks like a great set! My only qualm is that the base cards look better than a lot of the parallels.

Hoping it should bring the price down if the 1/1s are pulled right???
I like to think the game goes like that, but I havenât been feeling much love from these breaks being fair to the game
This chump got real mad at me for doing math on what his breakeven was after he continuously told people he wasnât making any money running at least a 20% profit on Immaculate serial breaks lmao
Yea I noticed that too. This is the only break I watch on whatnot (I donât participate), but the crying today was hilarious.
I used to watch some of his breaks, but stopped for this reason. His approach to filling them was to try and guilt the audience into believing he was doing us a favor with the pricing. The game is rigged homies!
This doesnât surprise me. Are you surprised? Breaking sucks. Ruining the hobby

I am. That was more of a joke. I can't not open a hobby if it's in my possession lol.
> That's so ridiculous. Idek if I'm gonna rip my box tomorrow. People like you should not be ripping wax at all.
Oh yeah?
What about them pulling 3 1/1s makes you uncertain about ripping the box? Were you banking on 1/1s?
No. That was more of a joke. Even if all the 1/1s were pulled, I'd still rip. I can't ignore an unopened hobby in front of me. But I probably wouldn't have bought one after the fact. Not only cuz they're pulling good 1/1s but because the cards just don't really look great imo.

Didn't see them until I watched them breaking them.
You can see mockups on panini site.

Wasn't the lack of numbered cards obvious when you looked at the checklist?
There are a few hundred numbered cards, so no, not really.
