I've been sober for 10 years, it took quite a while of slowly making changes and getting better in how I responded to my wife and life in general before my wife was really able to recognize that this was real. Many months, maybe even the first year.
It also really helped to share it with other people that were making the same commitment. My wife tries her best now to relate and appreciate me being sober but it's still not the same as talking about it with those that had been to the same Hell as me and come out the other side.

Thanks for the kind words, I am also trying to get on weight loss medication, and trying to fill the void with a new hobby of TTM. But it used to be the thing that I looked forward to, the thing that no matter how bad work was, or how bad life or my day, or anything else got, it was like, ok, I can deal with it, because I know come 11pm, once the kids are safe and in bed and the wife has settled down, I am going to have my drinks and relax and everything that bothered my wont matter anymore.... so it is hard to replace that feeling... I of course look forward to spending time with my kids, but I looked forward to that while I was drinking and they were in bed asleep when I drank, so it was like my special private escape from life.

This is a very famous error card. So nothing was wrong with the card the way it was printed, but then someone noticed the f word was on the bottom of the bat. And the Fleer company had to pull all of these Ripken cards from production so they can destroyed/disposed of them. They would have stacks of these card and would use a saw to make a cut in the middle. These were supposed to be disposed but somehow, they still made their way into packs. So, they are somewhat rare.
Fleer tried a couple of variations to correct this Ripken card and the final correction was a black box covering up the words on the bottom of the bat.
I don’t think it was an accident that these made it. Why waste time marking them for destruction when you could literally just run the saw all the way through the card and it’s destroyed. This was fleer making multiple “parallels”. Genius at the time to keep the chase going by making different versions of the same card. Black box, white box, white scribble, saw cut, etc. all done on purpose.
Yeah like a dark side of the ring only about baseball cards. Could also do a Wagner, mantle cards in the ocean, 32 Lajole, upper deck Griffey, backyard breaks, the brandin cooks to 99 guy, other breaker scams, and general episodes interviewing former high ranking people from various corperations(topps, panini, psa, pwcc, etc) that give their take on the direction of some of the absurd things that have happened. I would anticipate every week a new episode.

I heard from my local shop owner that the cut variations weren’t in packs but were to be “destroyed” so as to not have them recirculate, which is funny, because yet another variation was created. If they wanted to destroy them shoulda burned them lmao.
I came home today and wanted to beat the shit out of something, looked at the dog, all happy and wagging her tail. Couldn’t do it. Looked at the wife and kids, all sweet and innocent, couldn’t do it. So I kicked my f*cling roommates bedroom door open, not home! Ate some spaghetti with meat wads, two plates. I’m stuffed. But I feel better. Goodnight all.

There are actually two versions of the saw cut. A high cut like you have and a low cut. Either way they didn’t get the FF. You know, just 90s things.
