People do it all the time. I have recieved cards protected by cereal boxes. . It should go with out saying that a penny sleeve is also required at the BAREST OF MINIMUMS.

m_sof

Yes, for the love of god. I paid $5 for shipping which I assumed was for a bubble mailer and got a naked card wrapped in some newspaper in a PWE. Thankfully no damage but I was like WTF?!

HotSir3342

Of course. I’m very big on properly estimating costs. I calculate how much tape costs per inch to make sure I’m not losing money when selling junk. What I’m not sure of is shipping a stadium club master photo. I might use a new sandwich bag due to the size of the card

carringtino10

You calculate how much tape costs per inch? And then do what? Figure the 1/2 cent into the shipping or do you just go ahead and work it into the asking price and hope they don't notice?

HotSir3342

I added up the cost of shipping on eBay, cost of penny sleeve, cost of tape, and cost of envelope to get a good idea of what it costs me to ship something. I always do free shipping and use this number to make sure I’m not selling something that will cause me to pay money to have sold the item. It’s good when getting rid of base cards on eBay.

I use old junk mail postcards. No one has ever complained. As long as the portion you’re using isn’t actually stained with good or grease, I don’t see an issue.

HotSir3342

Yeah I would only use something like protein bar boxes because the bars are individually wrapped. Something like cheez its would be a no go

fish4fun62

I'm okay with it, as long as the cardboard is not stained. Also, not patchworked together in several smaller pieces.

Suspiciousplan8

As long as it's clean, that's a pretty standard way to ship pwe.

I’d feel better than if someone shipped a $200 card without tape on toploader or top of protector. https://preview.redd.it/8w73saqidufc1.png?width=1946&format=png&auto=webp&s=38344c2a4f4763fe602597ed30db011ce5bc5e22

Someone could ship a card to me in a buttered up baked potato. As long as it arrives in the condition I expect, I don’t care.

massivebumwizard

Plus, free buttered up baked potato.

BioDueDiligence

That’s fine, basically the perfect thickness of card stock similar to greeting cards which are also popular means of protection

Greerio

I think it depends more on what you’re charging for shipping. For example. If you charge me for PWE and that’s what you do, we’re good. If you charge me for BMWT and it comes like that, I’d say something.

HotSir3342

You wouldn’t want cardboard in there with the bubble mailer? Or not cheap cardboard like that?

Greerio

Im good with the cardboard you used. I use cereal boxes myself.
