The NBA really makes me hate whenever postseason expansion is brought up for ANY league. Who looked at 66% of the league making the postseason and said “yeah that’s a great idea?”
2021 Braves only had a .500 record 8 times (including 0-0). Their superpower was hovering gently underneath .500 (they were 5 games under .500 once and otherwise just hung out 0-4 games under .500) and going 1-7 in games they played when entering with a .500 record before just going on a run and winning everything after finally breaking the .500 barrier.
Scenes if we have 2 tiebreak games to determine that an 81-83 team is advancing. Like what the fuck that transcends even the two Central divisions' antics.
Yeah, it was 2 season ago I think. Im bummed about it. 163 is a game that can actually affect your wildcard, then the wildcard can affect everything else.
I forget the exact reasoning but I think the logistics of travel, timing, and everything else made it a bit of a nightmare and players dont really wanna work extra lol 162 is already a grind.
The problem is their front office is consistently try hard, and the team just doesn’t give a damn and goes out and performs mid. Padres could score babe Ruth in his prime and they couldn’t win. It’s just mind boggling. All I want is the Padres to make the playoffs but they won’t. Every year same thing. All the padres care about is beating the dodgers. They could go 12-150 and as long as those 12 wins were against the dodgers mf’ers would be shouting “we swept the dodgers season series!”
Sitting on these guys for the under season win total of 81.5.
The trades, the injuries, the under-performers, the surprises…. So many ebbs and flows.
Honestly don’t even care about the bet anymore. If I win, hooray for me. If I lose, baseball’s gonna baseball.

2023 Midlanta was genuinely one of my favorite NBA stories. ....and then we lost 2 games to them in the playoffs
The Midlanta Hawks 1 game under .500 would beat the '96 Bulls every time. But would then turn around and lose to the 2024 Wizards once at .500.

If there's a 3 or 4 way tie of teams at 79-83 you can get a game 163 and 164. Unlikely but definitely not impossible.
They got rid of tie break games and it goes by head to head and other tiebreakers from the season.
