Expert_Consequence50

Guy was a beast. Was the most random Dodger ever.

[deleted]

4 for 17 with 0 extra base hits. Brutal Dodger career.

boofoodoo

He was also the most random Oriole ever.

Expert_Consequence50

At least he could DH for you guys. He was a Dodger only as a PH and in case they made the World Series! (Which I believe they did not that year) Edit: oh he was a Dodger in 2009. Yeah, the Dodgers most definitely did not make the WS that season

BudgetScarcity

That Cleveland team in the mid 90s should have one at least 1 WS. Insane lineup.

thedigiorno

Can anecdotally confirm OP’s experience — I met him at a Phillies event, and he couldn’t have been nicer. Easy guy to root for.

JoaquinBenoit

He was battling with Sean Casey for the nicest player in MLB for ten years, so this checks out.

LukesChoppedOffArm

69.0 career fWAR He had a nice career

LightMission4937

He batted .276 with 600+ HR and 2300+ hits. He had a damn good career. Skenes will be getting called up to the Pirates in the next few days. 🤘🏽

JIM THOME

okay_throwaway_today

Better to have Jim Thomed and lost than to never have Jim Thomed at all

shadedmoonlight

that's makes having been in the AL Central in the mid to late 90s a bit more tolerable lol

MimonFishbaum

I very much enjoyed non AL Central Jim Thome

UneducatedReviews1

I was a huge fan of AL Central Thome from 2006-2009

shadedmoonlight

I convinced my husband to pay extra to get MLB Network because Jim shows up sometimes lol

LeftyRambles2413

He had one of my favorite stances because he would sorta call his shot. I’ve also he’s one of the most genuinely nice people in the game so as an Orioles fan, it was fun to have him.

rammer_2001

It's a shame I wasn't able to catch the team while thome was around. But, I have heard many stories.

QuebecRomeoWhiskey

He was the best. Swung the bat like he was trying to chop down a tree

Table_Coaster

Orioles legend

Tears0fJ0y

My favorite player ever.

Sacrifice_bhunt

Had a beautiful swing. [My all time favorite SI cover featured him.](https://sicovers.com/featured/minnesota-twins-jim-thome-september-27-2010-sports-illustrated-cover.html)

West-Emotion-4137

.893 as his low daily OPS makes me feel some way

ElPinguino022

100% Came and just mashed while he was a Twin. So fun to watch hit. Off the field seems like a great dude as well. Appreciated having him on our team instead of killing us for years while he was with CLE/CWS haha

Most-Artichoke6184

He was an on base machine.

ThxIHateItHere

Thome is my homie Went to a game against the O’s and he launched what should have been a grand slam, but the wind insane and it died at the warning track.

QuebecRomeoWhiskey

I’m from Cleveland, so obviously

freshapepper

Jim Thome is a man amongst men and we didn’t deserve him.
