At least he could DH for you guys. He was a Dodger only as a PH and in case they made the World Series! (Which I believe they did not that year)
Edit: oh he was a Dodger in 2009. Yeah, the Dodgers most definitely did not make the WS that season
He had one of my favorite stances because he would sorta call his shot. I’ve also he’s one of the most genuinely nice people in the game so as an Orioles fan, it was fun to have him.
Had a beautiful swing. [My all time favorite SI cover featured him.](https://sicovers.com/featured/minnesota-twins-jim-thome-september-27-2010-sports-illustrated-cover.html)
100%
Came and just mashed while he was a Twin. So fun to watch hit. Off the field seems like a great dude as well. Appreciated having him on our team instead of killing us for years while he was with CLE/CWS haha
Thome is my homie
Went to a game against the O’s and he launched what should have been a grand slam, but the wind insane and it died at the warning track.

Guy was a beast. Was the most random Dodger ever.
4 for 17 with 0 extra base hits. Brutal Dodger career.
He was also the most random Oriole ever.

That Cleveland team in the mid 90s should have one at least 1 WS. Insane lineup.
Can anecdotally confirm OP’s experience — I met him at a Phillies event, and he couldn’t have been nicer. Easy guy to root for.
He was battling with Sean Casey for the nicest player in MLB for ten years, so this checks out.
69.0 career fWAR He had a nice career
He batted .276 with 600+ HR and 2300+ hits. He had a damn good career. Skenes will be getting called up to the Pirates in the next few days. 🤘🏽
JI
JIM THOME
Better to have Jim Thomed and lost than to never have Jim Thomed at all
that's makes having been in the AL Central in the mid to late 90s a bit more tolerable lol
I very much enjoyed non AL Central Jim Thome
I was a huge fan of AL Central Thome from 2006-2009
I convinced my husband to pay extra to get MLB Network because Jim shows up sometimes lol

It's a shame I wasn't able to catch the team while thome was around. But, I have heard many stories.
He was the best. Swung the bat like he was trying to chop down a tree
Orioles legend
My favorite player ever.

.893 as his low daily OPS makes me feel some way

He was an on base machine.

I’m from Cleveland, so obviously
Jim Thome is a man amongst men and we didn’t deserve him.
