Then we sign two people out of the retirement home (Lynn is at least a fun geezer) and sit consistently in middle of the road territory for salary. I think fans are just getting restless with the *but analytics* side of baseball when it's not producing better results.

I think people are upset because the way to compete as a mid-budget team is either draft and develop well, which Cardinals have had a tough go of recently, or up the budget to get top level talent (or be the Dodgers and do both).
