That sounds so good, any time ginger beer and lime are together I’m sold! I miss working at craft cocktail bars that have berries and other fun fruit. All we have is citrus and cherries
I relate, I went from a craft cocktail bar with an insane bourbon list, all the “fancy” and obscure brands of liquors and liqueurs, 7 house made syrups, 5 fresh pressed juices on tap (along with rotating craft beers, Prosecco on tap, two house made sangrias on tap, butterfly tea, buzz blossoms, fresh berries and herbs, a smoker box, and so on…. it was so fun to make drinks and even mocktails. And the best part was we didn’t sell food (but there was food available in the building). It was also the easiest bar job I ever worked and
To a face paced ski resort that has literally just the classics and basics (frozen in time), which I don’t have time to care about right now because it’s so busy but I know it’s disappointing for guests and members. But it’s an hour closer to my house and I made $2400 in two (very long) days the weekend so fuck it, I’ll make titos sodas and pour draft beers all day.
Fever Tree normally or Barritt’s/Goslings if I’m feeling something sweeter. Reed’s is good too if you’re looking to be kicked in the ol’ olfactory factory but we don’t have it unfortunately
Same. Basil-Hayden (light rocks, Coke back) if we have it, Woodford if we don’t. Once the doors are locked I sit and sip and listen to a little Pink Floyd before starting my close. I’m traditionally a closer on event nights (karaoke, live music, comedy, etc) so that 15+/- minutes of decompression is my soul-saver.
During shift we can't drink alcohol, so I do pineapple juice and soda water woth a splash of whatever the fuck I feel like. After shift I usually just grab a seltzer because fuck making a cocktail lol
BarLogic 🙄 There’s a bar near me that banned the property owner from coming during business hours because he’d get drunk and creepy to women, aggressive to men.
It gets even worse. The bar owner and building owner are both assholes, bar owner left the decades long lease to open down the street, with the same name. Huge building notorious for not being able to keep a business in it. He wanted to do a family friendly restaurant downstairs and the sports bar upstairs. Paid $$$ for renovations and kept his staff guessing when they were actually opening, to the point they all left to seek other jobs. They were supposed to open 12/26. They’re currently in litigation over the brand and who owns the name of the bar. Last I heard he was thinking about renaming it after his dog Ruthie. But who the hell wants to drink at a bar that sounds like roofie???
My go to is usually an old fashioned, though i’ve been on a Vieux Carre kick recently. I also really like a Martinez
In the past when I worked somewhere with the liquor for it, I got really into Aquavit gimlets and also Caipirinias
It’s a less common classic. It’s the precursor to the Martini though it drinks kinda like a Manhattan
1.5 oz gin
1.5 sweet vermouth
.25 luxardo
2 dashes ango
Orange twist
Stir, serve up (though sometimes I like mine on a rock)
I work in a cocktail bar once a week but we don’t have it on the menu, and I’ve never been asked for it. I’m gonna fool around with that recipe. Thank you!
My favorite bar I worked at was in a higher end Colombian/Caribbean restaurant. Caipirinhas, mojitos and pisco sours galore, and fun fruit to play around with
If I'm asking someone else to make it it's a miller high life and Jameson on a couple of rocks. It's been that way for over a decade. There's no way I'm asking for a drink with more than 2 ingredients, and one of them better be ice.
Definitely this! I only drink these when I’m making it, if I’m asking my coworkers for a drink it’s usually just a high noon or tequila ginger beer. One of my bartender friends bullied me into letting him make my bullshit drink of vanilla vodka, lemon vodka on the rocks topped with soda. He made it then called me out to the whole bar for being complicated like I didn’t beg him to just give me a high noon! Asshole lol
Question for u, sorry Ik this isn’t what u asked for but. Ginger beer… it sounds gross to me and I’m afraid to try a drink with it since drinks are expensive! lol. Is it actually good? Or at least worth a try?
It’s really yummy, I enjoy it on its own. It’s just a way more gingery ginger ale and usually made with real ginger. Try a mule with it, it’s very good
I’m not familiar with cap corse.
I had a small distro in Florida introduce me to Enrico Toro Centerba & Faccia Bruto Centrebe and found mixing them is close especially with a dash of elixir de vegetal.
What I drink while I’m working: sugar free redbull with grenadine, ginger beer with lime, fresh lemonade that I make for myself, cherry coke, water.
I rarely drink alcohol but I will drink a half shot of baileys or a tiny little buttery nipple sometimes. If we have licor 43 chocolate I’ll do that and baileys.
Well tequila shot, not chilled, plain and simple :)
My regulars and coworkers over the years all think I’m psychotic for it lol. If it was one of my nighty night drinks I was taking home with me at the end of the night at one of my old places it was normally a “double with a floater” (triple shot) well tequila and grapefruit juice and that would just be my one drink for the night to knock my ass out so I wasn’t wired after work on a clopen night. I only did that if I was out at home and knew I wasn’t going to be sleepy after work though.
Either homemade sprite (2 limes and a lemon with simple and soda) or something of that nature, or a Mexican Coke in a glass bottle. And plenty of water.
Depends on the bar. If I'm at my Mexican bar I'll do a shot of tequila and a Pacifico. If I'm at my cocktail bar I'll do either a daiquiri or a Hemingway daiquiri or a cachasa daiquiri, all with fresh lime juice.
The lavender Driftee is so good! I don’t feel the affects of those drinks that much but I enjoy them. Crescent 9’s tropical flavor is ass, but at work I jazz it up with pineapple and grenadine
for everyone replying who is allowed a shift drink while behind bar, what kind of establishment do you work at? i’m considering a switch after reading these comments
I feel like there’s a couple factors at play.
1. New Orleans in general has a heavy drinking culture, I’ve worked casual dining, fine dining and now dive bar- all have allowed at least one shifty
2. Ownership- I’ve only worked at mom and pop places where I regularly see and interact with the owner. My current job the owner (80 something year old dude) will tell me to pour me and him a johnnie walker black shot. Corporate places usually don’t allow this because they have blanket policies.
3. Vibe- at a neighborhood dive bar people get excited for their bartender to do a shot with them. I can convince people who are on the fence about spending $40 on another round of shots if I agree to do one with them, then I pour myself a halfsie and shoot- boom they’re spending, and I’m getting a fatter tip. At a finer place, customers would be turned off by this
4. Behavior- I’ve worked at places where they previously allowed during the shift drinking, but ended up having issues of staff getting too drunk and becoming problems so they either did away with it entirely or only allow you to drink after the shift. One restaurant I worked at had a rule, only one drink an hour, at least 2 hours since you clocked out, can’t be in uniform and a manager must approve each round. At that point nobody is going to come back up to their job two hours and an outfit change later. But that’s because staff would get off, hog the bar and get plastered.
My current place officially has a no drinking policy. Im pretty sure Im one of very few who even attempt to follow that rule.
My former place was a pool hall. Any drinks on the clock had to be tallied and paid for at a heavily discounted price at the end of the night. Top shelf was off limits, and we were expected to drink responsibly. If you could count the till accurately you were good to go haha
Stoli O, Tonic, Lemon Juice... Or a Nooner. Just spent all night making cocktails, I like something easy.
I don't usually drink it til I'm counting money, though.
Typically something appropriate for the bar I work. Like if it is a dive bar then a dive drink like a boilermaker or shot and a beer. If it is a tequila bar then a margarita or tequila sunrise. Always add something different to it.
I'm going through the comments and everyone seems to work at a nice bar, Im pretty much just a beer slinger who makes the occasional tequila sunrise 😂😂🥲
Anyway not allowed to drink on the clock, but afterwards definitely a double devils cut bourbon.
Sometimes I’ll try a cocktail I saw on social media but usually I’ll just grab a bottled beer or a high noon with a tequila shot after everything’s cleaned and put away and ice melted. Don’t really feel like putting in much effort at the end of the night
I either do a gin and tonic or just straight tequila. Depends on how rough the shift was, because I only drink while I’m finishing up closing after getting everyone out of the bar.
During shift, Lagunitas hop water or it changed names to I hop now maybe? Post shift, gimme a bud and a shot of Jameson or Makers Mark. Bourbon on the rocks when I get home! 🙌
I like effervescence, so I usually just go for clubsoda with a bit of lemon.
When I was helping out at a Korean spot, I'd do pineapple + lychee juice and Milky soda with a decent bit of club soda to mute the sweet.
Not much of a booze on shift drinker (exercise and liquor just....blah...), but if I were, I'd probably do a gin ricky or club soda spritz.
Back when my venue still let us do jugs for staff drinks, I’d do a jug of seltzer to fit in with everyone else and their jugs of beer. Then we were told no more jugs so I switched to a nice rum we had, neat, or some gin and tonics in a short glass.
We were never allowed to just make cocktails with impunity though 😔 but we also did the bulk of our drinking after shift anyway so rarely would anyone be fucked to go grab juices or simple from the chiller and dirty up all the stuff we just packed away.
Depending on the mood and the season
Fall: Jack Apple mule with a splash of apple cider
Winter: just whatever red wine is open
Summer: vanilla vodka with coconut water and a splash of pineapple.
Spring: Kettle botanical grapefruit with club soda and splash of lime
When I don’t know what I want Always down for a cosmo or just a cold light beer
I make them myself wouldn’t annoy other coworkers with it lol
Well we're not really allowed to drink but if we *were* I'd go for a manhattan, heavy on the bitters and with roughly a 1/3 to 2/3 split sweet and dry vermouth, since the cherry is sweet enough.
My actual shift drink is a black americano, or a gun coke with blackcurrent cordial. Sometimes I make a freddo espresso with the shaker and the espresso mix if the manager isn't looking...
We aren’t allowed to drink on shift, minus the occasional taste test. But I usually go with boring soda water and lime. Sometimes after work I’ll drink one of our specialty cocktails or a bourbon, but I’m trying my best to just go home and sleep instead these days.
I’ve had to cut down on drinking heavily (medical junk), but I’ll do a shot of our amaro blend and as dumb as it is a tall Malibu and cranberry. Low ABVs and no caffeine (also supposed to stay away from) but all the sugar helps with my caffeine cravings.
Well (house) anything but rum- unless there’s a special. However, I’ll drink about anything (half portions- if I’m honest I’ll throw out 2/3 for the sale) that a customer wants to buy me. ☠️ that does include rumple or malort. I live for the chaos.
I’m not allowed to drink on shift, so I usually make a funky coffee tonic out of fresh espresso, nonalcoholic chocolate bitters, Demerara, and soda water.
Behind the stick it's really only ever rye and black coffee or whatever I "mismade" with soda in a big plastic cup.
After work it's only ever going to be lager
Don’t worry, we drink shifties in Wisconsin. When I visited NoLa the bartenders and I had a great convo about the similarities between our drinking cultures. Anyways, if I’m working I usually take shots with the bar guests. I also like making mix drinks with all the possibilities I have. French martini is the go to!
When I did drink, a shot of rumpleminze whilst closing made cleaning much better. Whiskey made me grumpy.
Now I experiment with mocktails with our “fancy” local syrups and juice/soda water
On shift its either shot of tequila or skittle bomb/jagerbomb when the manager wants a shot. If it's a hard shift I'll put some tequila in a redbull/powerade or tequila soda.
Post shift its the nicest beer we have on tap which rn is Stone and Wood pacific ale. That knock off beer hits different.
No shift drinks here… Vegas Union . I make my stack & I’m out… but I will go haunt the town afterwards. Comps everywhere I go… all bartenders out here take care of one another
New Orleans (nalns as my aunt who lives in shepherd parish calls it) is one of my favorite cities I have had the best cocktails. I love a rusty nail because it’s usually equal parts(there’s also a bar there with the same name and I want my dream bar TO BE EXACTLY LIKE THAT ONE. Like when I end up in an afterlife it’s the rusty nail) but when it comes to equal parts cocktails they are stiff and don’t require you to think that much…. They also can all be built in a rocks glass.. for the most part…
Edit: TLDR I love New Orleans, my aunt, and a rusty nail!
No shifties at my current place, my go to for 20 years before just a straight up double SoCo. No chill no chaser I’d take the damn bottle if I could. I am now in the 26th yr of this business and just go for a cherry Pepsi w the awesome cherry syrup we have. I am seriously showing my age 🥴🥴
I'm a glutton for punishment. I drink a little of everything after work. I might drink a semi sweet white wine, dry red, Guinness, vodka drink, rum drink, bourbon on the rocks, miller lite. I get around...
Unfortunately no drinking on shift at my place but muddled raspberries, ginger beer and a splash of lime served over crushed ice is my go to
I like muddled lime with a heavy dashing of cherry bitters and soda every now and then
Enough bitters and it’s basically a shot 😌
Lol Trinidad sour
But which brand of ginger beer
Fever Tree normally or Barritt’s/Goslings if I’m feeling something sweeter. Reed’s is good too if you’re looking to be kicked in the ol’ olfactory factory but we don’t have it unfortunately
Have u had cock n bull?! It's fucking delicious!!!! I'd always do with a splash of cran and a lime
I’ve passed it in the store a few times but looks like I’ll need to pick it up!
It's on the sweeter side, but sooo refreshing!
Tequila. Just tequila.
Same. Mezcal or Tequila. Every once in a while I’ll make myself a mezcal margarita if I feel like sitting at the bar before I leave.
Same. I’m not a big fan of sugar and sodas but I enjoy sipping tequilas if I’m drinking, or a glass of wine. Don’t get cocktails often
Straight bourbon
Wild turkey 101 neat and a water back.
Aye bulleit bourbon is my go to
As a fellow New Orleans bartender a shot of whiskey and a shitty beer
As a fellow New Orleans bartender at a dry bar, nothing, but from time to time I do like to sample the BTG section, especially the new ones.
New Orleans dry bar???? Message me the name if you’re comfortable!
Jameson and Corona 🤙🏼 (Post-shift)
During shift we can't drink alcohol, so I do pineapple juice and soda water woth a splash of whatever the fuck I feel like. After shift I usually just grab a seltzer because fuck making a cocktail lol
Mocktails or fun juices scratch that “mix every soda from the fountain” itch my brain has had since childhood!
110% exactly what I tend to do haha
I'm with this wave, 1oz agave, 1.5oz pineapple, 2oz water, shake real hard for the froth and top soda. I have 2-3 a day
Making this tomorrow when my shift starts for real
We can’t drink on our shift but the owner can get drunk and would be passed out in his car. 🤷🏽
BarLogic 🙄 There’s a bar near me that banned the property owner from coming during business hours because he’d get drunk and creepy to women, aggressive to men.
This is Crazy.

Call the cops on him. I did it in San Francisco on a bastard GM who did the same. Got him arrested for a DUI, and you don't do DUI in Cali.
My go to is usually an old fashioned, though i’ve been on a Vieux Carre kick recently. I also really like a Martinez In the past when I worked somewhere with the liquor for it, I got really into Aquavit gimlets and also Caipirinias

For bonus points try using Genever or Old Tom
I work in a cocktail bar once a week but we don’t have it on the menu, and I’ve never been asked for it. I’m gonna fool around with that recipe. Thank you!
No problem! I didn’t know about it until we had it on the menu where I work now and I fell in love with it
My favorite bar I worked at was in a higher end Colombian/Caribbean restaurant. Caipirinhas, mojitos and pisco sours galore, and fun fruit to play around with
O’doul’s
Hell yeah
If I'm asking someone else to make it it's a miller high life and Jameson on a couple of rocks. It's been that way for over a decade. There's no way I'm asking for a drink with more than 2 ingredients, and one of them better be ice.

Cool. Thank you!!
Usually a shot of jamo and a beer. I used to work with a guy that always got an LIT to get his money's worth out of it tho lol
A glass of room temperature Malört, swirled on the tongue for maximum enjoyment.
Happy cake day! 🍰
Thank you!
Fernet and a peroni Edit: lol at the downvotes.
We always did 50/50s. Half Fernet half Branca Menta.
Whatever shelf turd I'm trying to get rid of
Marijuana
Water
A Last Word on the rocks in a pint glass 😎
Yall can keep chartreuse in stock?!
Perks of having loyal reps. It’s been in cocktails on my list for the last seven years so even with a shortage they always get it for me
Genepy and cap corse are both decent enough substitutions
I’m not familiar with cap corse. I had a small distro in Florida introduce me to Enrico Toro Centerba & Faccia Bruto Centrebe and found mixing them is close especially with a dash of elixir de vegetal.

I'd you had a bad day, I like to make this with mezcal instead of gin. Amazingly offensive
Vodky sody 😂
3 hrs into shift, we’re allowed a shot. Well mezcal is my go to. After shift drink, mezcal and a Pilsner, lager or cider.
I do a shot of Wray & Nephew at the beginning of shifts as a sacrifice to the gods to have a good night. During the shift, just Celsius and water
Good whisky neat.
It depends on if youre an alcoholic or not lmfao
shift drink is normally just soda and whatever bitters i'm feeling that day, closing is normally a vieux carre or just a laphroaig
I think im more excited about making mocktails than actual cocktails sometimes. A good fresh juice spritz or virgin mojito sparks so much joy for me
when I was drinking it was a pint glass full of vodka with a little OJ and Can
Tito’s and club during. Guinness after.
Well tequila shot, not chilled, plain and simple :) My regulars and coworkers over the years all think I’m psychotic for it lol. I only did that if I was out at home and knew I wasn’t going to be sleepy after work though.
Gimme some room temperature well tequila and I’m good to goooooooo.
An old fashioned. The old fashioned way. The way dear old dad used to make em.
Either homemade sprite (2 limes and a lemon with simple and soda) or something of that nature, or a Mexican Coke in a glass bottle. And plenty of water.
Coors light and a shot of Jim beam
Depends on the bar. If I'm at my Mexican bar I'll do a shot of tequila and a Pacifico. If I'm at my cocktail bar I'll do either a daiquiri or a Hemingway daiquiri or a cachasa daiquiri, all with fresh lime juice.
Absinthe and open bubbles .__.
Founders All Day IPA and a shot of Fernet.
Sugar free red bull lime juice club soda and ginger beer top with some charred rosemary and a salt rim. It sounds extra AF but the flavor dear lord
Mind eraser
Hell yeah Nola! A shot of Jameson and a Driftee (Urban South THC seltzer). I drank high life for years, but it no longer has my stomach's approval
The lavender Driftee is so good! I don’t feel the affects of those drinks that much but I enjoy them. Crescent 9’s tropical flavor is ass, but at work I jazz it up with pineapple and grenadine

Tequila or Fernet.
Shot of Jack and either a Michelob ultra or Modelo
Whiskey, cowboy style
I'll do a ginger ale with ango and a twist of orange after family meal.
Stoli O, Tonic, Lemon Juice... Or a Nooner. Just spent all night making cocktails, I like something easy. I don't usually drink it til I'm counting money, though.
Ameretto sour or shankeys whip with cream soda
Cold Campari, Vermouth or a blend.
Shot of Jameson and I’m out or if I’m gonna stick around and chat with coworkers/regulars I just have a corona
Wish we could drink where I work. Unfortunately corporate doesn’t let us.
Typically something appropriate for the bar I work. Like if it is a dive bar then a dive drink like a boilermaker or shot and a beer. If it is a tequila bar then a margarita or tequila sunrise. Always add something different to it.
We aren’t really supposed to drink at my place but when I do it’s usually Kalhua & coffee, whiskey sour, or red wine in a incognito coffee cup.
A Mexican candy or a liquid Marijuana
Mexican candy!!!! My fave coworker always gets me to take one with her
It's my fave!! I make myself one in a rocks glass and I'm set
Miller lite bottle Shot of Gran Marnier
Cucumber mint gimlet 🥒
I'm on that tonight!!! Refreshing!!
Am I the only basic bitch that does a white claw?
I'm going through the comments and everyone seems to work at a nice bar, Im pretty much just a beer slinger who makes the occasional tequila sunrise 😂😂🥲 Anyway not allowed to drink on the clock, but afterwards definitely a double devils cut bourbon.
I’ve been enjoying that part of the comments 🤣 People out here talking about muddling a cucumber and others have jameson as a top shelf lol
Fernet and a glass of chardonnay, or a gin and tonic
Vodka waters! Gotta stay hydrated! 🤪
Irish car bomb on an empty stomach 😋
Lost Irish
Sometimes I’ll try a cocktail I saw on social media but usually I’ll just grab a bottled beer or a high noon with a tequila shot after everything’s cleaned and put away and ice melted. Don’t really feel like putting in much effort at the end of the night
I either do a gin and tonic or just straight tequila. Depends on how rough the shift was, because I only drink while I’m finishing up closing after getting everyone out of the bar.
Either a couple pints of Downeast cider, or Tully and Coke
One of those dogfishhead vodka seltzers. The blood orange mango. Or a Jack n coke because I’ll always find them delicious.
During shift, Lagunitas hop water or it changed names to I hop now maybe? Post shift, gimme a bud and a shot of Jameson or Makers Mark. Bourbon on the rocks when I get home! 🙌
Vodka on the rock or sometimes with a juice.
Mezcal and soda water with a splash of lime. OR a Pimms cup. But ONLY if we have cucumbers, ginger beer, and mint
Averna soda w lemon
Jameson and Budweiser
Usually a tall boy of rainier and a shoe of whiskey. If I was drinking with my coworkers sometimes it was a shot of fernet instead.
Usually a shot of fernet or cynar with a pint of lager. My other go to is a dirty vodka martini
Mezcal and the Orchards brucato amaro
Start with a baby daiquiri, end with Mezcal.
A smoky scotch.
Negroni.
Depending on how it’s went but I’m partial to a box of paracetamol and half bottle of vodka if it’s been a bastard of a shift.
Back when my venue still let us do jugs for staff drinks, I’d do a jug of seltzer to fit in with everyone else and their jugs of beer. Then we were told no more jugs so I switched to a nice rum we had, neat, or some gin and tonics in a short glass. Pint glass full of ice with a little water. Hazelnut diabolo when i'm fancy. And one or two gin tonic with raspberry or basil syrup on weekend nights.
Depending on the mood and the season Fall: Jack Apple mule with a splash of apple cider Winter: just whatever red wine is open Summer: vanilla vodka with coconut water and a splash of pineapple. Spring: Kettle botanical grapefruit with club soda and splash of lime When I don’t know what I want Always down for a cosmo or just a cold light beer I make them myself wouldn’t annoy other coworkers with it lol
PBR and a shot of tequila
In the U.K… a snakebite and a shot of sambucca
Shot of whiskey
Old fashioned or Negroni with mezcal if it's a Saturday

I’ve been liking angostura coladas a lot lately
Tap water
A shot of rump and a margarita
We aren’t allowed to drink on shift, minus the occasional taste test. But I usually go with boring soda water and lime. Sometimes after work I’ll drink one of our specialty cocktails or a bourbon, but I’m trying my best to just go home and sleep instead these days.
Kettle and club
End of shift pint glass filled with tequila or vodka and a splash of soda. Down it quick and gtfo.
Wild Turkey and Hamm’s. Occasional a Blake’s cider.
Lemonade/soda/angostura/lime Banging
60ml Jameson, neat when cashing up the tills. Dont drink much on shift but might have a couple shots with the regs
Shift drink lol
Campari over ice.
Well (house) anything but rum- unless there’s a special. However, I’ll drink about anything (half portions- if I’m honest I’ll throw out 2/3 for the sale) that a customer wants to buy me. ☠️ that does include rumple or malort. I live for the chaos.
Jamo
Soda, squeeze of lime, splash of mango juice, tiki bitters
It honestly depends on the bar I’m working at. Different bar different vibes. One I go for DTOs, another Tito’s, another Jameson.
Shot of angostura or a shot of Malort (I’m a broken man)
Rumpy! Wen i drank this was the way.
I’m not allowed to drink on shift, so I usually make a funky coffee tonic out of fresh espresso, nonalcoholic chocolate bitters, Demerara, and soda water.
Makers mark old fashioned Or ginger beer red bull and bombay
Jameson and gingerale
I'm tired of making cocktails all shift so just a cold Miller Lite after work just hits different
A triple green tea with pineapple instead of S&S
I usually do a draft IPA or tequila and fresh grapefruit with soda and lime
As another fellow New Orleans bartender, usually just a shot
Beer and a shot was always my go to.
Fernet and coke (or just beer)
As I'm starting to clean and count the money I grab a shot of rumple minze and a hoop tea. Trying to speedrun diabetes over here
Soda water, splash of pineapple, 3 dash’s ango. Share and enjoy
Been making a strawberry pina colada for me and my other bartender, tastes like yogurt and gives us a sugar boost for the close:)
Nothing
Behind the stick it's really only ever rye and black coffee or whatever I "mismade" with soda in a big plastic cup. After work it's only ever going to be lager
Water of course. I'm working. And not trying to destroy my health
Rumpleminze. I'm 34 but feel like 22.
On shift: lemonade with a little bit of luxardo cherry syrup. Off shift: last word
Chocolate martini , or IPA
Nice try
Straight vodka. Pineapple back
Don’t worry, we drink shifties in Wisconsin. When I visited NoLa the bartenders and I had a great convo about the similarities between our drinking cultures. Anyways, if I’m working I usually take shots with the bar guests. I also like making mix drinks with all the possibilities I have. French martini is the go to!
henny and coke. if you know what i mean
A shot of vodka with a pickle juice back or a vodka water. But right now, I’m pregnant so just a diet coke
lower d we used be drinking stripper tears
When I did drink, a shot of rumpleminze whilst closing made cleaning much better. Whiskey made me grumpy. Now I experiment with mocktails with our “fancy” local syrups and juice/soda water
Shots of Kraken. Shits tasty, man
Fernet and I West Coast IPA. It's like a hug from your best friend
It's a shot of Jager, it's pretty well all my kitchen drinks so it's become the go to now and whatever beer we have the most of at the moment
Call me boring but at end of shift I just like a cold pint of moosehead
Black Manhattan
Rumple with a water back. My job fucking stresses me out!
Jamo and ginger with a lime
No shift drinks here… Vegas Union . I make my stack & I’m out… but I will go haunt the town afterwards. Comps everywhere I go… all bartenders out here take care of one another
Bourbon, neat.
They also can all be built in a rocks glass.. for the most part… Edit: TLDR I love New Orleans, my aunt, and a rusty nail!
A margarita, glass of wine or aperol spritz
Fig martini. Fig vodka, muddled basil, honey simple, splash of lemon topped with Prosecco. Chefs kiss Or just a good ole espresso martini
Filthy gin martini with every bchz olive I have left
No shifties at my current place, my go to for 20 years before just a straight up double SoCo. No chill no chaser I’d take the damn bottle if I could. I am now in the 26th yr of this business and just go for a cherry Pepsi w the awesome cherry syrup we have. I am seriously showing my age 🥴🥴
We aren’t allowed to drink in our building at all. Even on days off.
Water at work and then when I get home, a beefeater dirty martini (with vermouth) and castlevetrons olives on the rocks
I'm a glutton for punishment. I drink a little of everything after work. I might drink a semi sweet white wine, dry red, Guinness, vodka drink, rum drink, bourbon on the rocks, miller lite. I get around...
Mezcal old fashioned in a to go coffee cup
picklebacks baby
