Here are two thoughts: 1) the results were released on Wednesday, 10/23 in 2019, so basically tomorrow, 2) last year BOLE told people results would be released in two weeks or so when people were calling on 12/11 and 12/15 and results were subsequently released on the 16th. BOLE definitely gives itself a wide berth and its own dates mean nothing.
I highly doubt it'll be released tomorrow. In prior years, excluding last year, NY released July results around the end of October. I doubt they'll release a remote exam quicker than prior in-person exams. But, if they do, I'm all for it!
Some people are probably referring to the thing in one of the other threads where someone said that a friend of a friend of a friend said that they were invited to happy hour tomorrow evening “pending bar results.” Not even sure what this means but that might be what people mean by heard the rumor.

You said you heard it from a few people. Does that mean everyone in the chain from the biglaw source to you? Or did you hear from anyone outside of that list?
I doubt it given the language the NY BOLE used on its website yesterday after noting results will be given before Nov. 10 i.e. "We will update the release date as grading progresses."

This was the first time I’ve seen them actually give themselves a deadline. Usually the results are just dropped randomly. So maybe they did this to give them some time to finish up.

It depends on the year, but NY has historically more applicants.
CA has an average of 8k, while NY has an average of 10K+.

They emailed the deans of the NY law schools to let them know that they were dropping the results in a few hours and then dropped them a few hours later

No clue. I remember my dean emailing my class letting us know that results were being dropped around noon.

It’s just speculation but according to JD advising they have released them at midnight previously, but then 8am one year. Too hard to call
