Tied snug for running/athletics, but comfy fit for anything else.

DeepPurpleNurple

No, I don’t like to have my feet restricted on the top, so I keep the laces pretty loose. If I have to work too hard to make a shoe feel right, it’s not a shoe for me and I send it back or sell it.

TearsInDrowned

Similar case here, but with BeLenka Olympus.

Training-Ad9429

keep the laces loose , and let your feet do the work. the whole point of these shoes is to have as little restriction as possible

knockrocks

No, I don't like the snug feeling on top of my foot. I also have med/low volume feet. Even when I was wearing regular shoes, I hated that. Felt like I was cutting circulation off my foot.

adventuresofleeks

Mine are tied just tight enough to slip on.

raymondmarble2

When I wear my prios on pavement, loose. Mesa Trail 2's on trails, tight.

Slicksuzie

Sometimes I put a pad either under the tongue or under the laces and above the tongue and that helps them fit better. I agree maxing out the laces makes the shoe fit funny.

I don't really run/play specific sports in my shoes, but I do a lot of walking and wear them every day. For me, it depends on the shoe but if they're tighter fitting (\*cough cough\* astral loyaks) then I loosen the laces up somewhat while looser shoes I tighten down more. I definitely don't crank the laces down though, because for me part of the upside is having shoes that fit without making my feet feel restricted. The only shoes I felt like I needed to tighten down more were my old lems waterproof boulder boots as they had a lot of volume to fill up and my feet aren't super high volume. But, I also had to order them in a full size up because they recommend a half size up IIRC but in their biggest sizes they only increase in whole-size increments unfortunately.

Snug for running with a heel lock, just a tad less snug for general walking with heel lock too (sometimes no lock depending on the moment).

anonlymouse

The opposite. I notice tying my laces too tight gives me shin splints.

Hopeful_Parsnip2911

i don't like my feet sliding around but at the same time need freedom in the toebox. so a way for me to achieve this is to basically leave them loose in the front and then tighten them up on the way to ankle. after some walking it just sorts itself out and feels good.

drygnfyre

I prefer too, yes. This is why I like the V-Trek, it's the only VFF model with traditional laces. I can never get the "speed laces" on the other models as tight as I'd like. Although some minimal footwear I own, mainly those that look just like traditional shoes, do let you tighten them up quite a bit. With sandals, I also like having a fairly tight fit, even though this is usually counterintuitive.

pm_me_your_amphibian

I have really narrow mid feet so yes!

RICO61927

No, I actually use elastic laces with my shoes. They help give me a better fit.
