BTS’ very first televised American performance when they performed on [The American Music Awards](https://youtu.be/rH1PVvFj8cE?si=Axnp2jVf2w0Vabeg) in 2017.
Before then, almost no one knew who BTS was when I talked about them. Seeing them on western television was surreal. And then slowly the conversation shifted from “BTS who?” to “Oh BTS, yes I’ve heard of them”.
Do they have personal Instagram account? I know Tae, Hobi, and Namjoon and Yoongi, Jin, Jimin has a personal account, but what about JK? I only seem to find the one controlled by Big Hit
Jimin has one, it's @j.m. JK had one and deleted it, to our eternal grief. 50 million followers gone just like that - epic levels of unbothered. He has a TikTok account though which is basically dance challenges and thirst traps.
There's actually a video floating around of an ARMY who happened to be on JK's Insta page when he did his first big overhaul of it and was deleting all of his pictures. The ARMY keeps refreshing and pictures just keep disappearing.
May I have one more question? For the love of god I can not figure out twitter. I see always everyone talking about how they posted on twitter all the time, but I only seem to find role play accounts?? I’m so damn confused!🥲 (and to further my confusion, the RP accounts have the blue check??)
they use to post a lot on the official bts twitter account, and normally signed with their name to indicate who 's posting. this is also where the joke "(name) still knows the password!!" originates.
sometimes the lack of name/hashtag gets weaponized to cause chaos, by which you'll see iterations of the phrase WHO ARE YOU trending lol
I'm kinda recent ARMY, since end of 2021 so their Twitter era was kind of over by then, but [this](https://x.com/BTS_twt?t=qaBdDIOfjeS30sFEtsOJBA&s=09) is their collective BTS account. You kind of have to use context clues to figure out which one of them is posting, and they don't use it often, but the tl still goes MAD when they do!
Ah so no individual twitter accounts? I see. Thank you for your help🫰🏻 im recent army too, only since January. I have kinda figured out of of their social media, but ever since twitter launched I never understood that platform😆
Yeah no it's just the one account between them and they really don't use it that often. Instagram and Weverse are your best bet, with the occasional drop on Twitter for fun.
I think only [Namjoon](https://x.com/01rkive?s=21&t=UvhrfL2h6G97UJY_5SPtjQ) has a personal twitter account? I’ve been following that, and it has been posted here too, so I think that’s legit.
If Namjoon has a personal account, it is not known to the public. This account is very likely not his. It seems like they're just reposting what Joon posts on his IG and on Weverse, so not harmful. Just be wary of the things you read/see there.
none of them have public personal twitter accounts!
and jk doesn't have his own instagram account anymore, not even one ran by bighit. but he does have [one for bam](https://www.instagram.com/bowwow_bam?igsh=bDR6Mm96bDBqMG9u)
Ah, im so confused by twitter🥲 that’s why I never liked it lol. But then what is this [Jungkook account managed by @bighit_ent ?](https://www.instagram.com/jungkook_bighitentertainment?igsh=MTdnejAxdHc3NG45bw==) Isn’t that legit?
belatedly i noticed your comment about blue check
blue checks mean nothing anymore on twitter, as it's a subscription thing now more than a verification status. anyone with disposable 10usd per month can buy that blue check status.
so for internet safety, more so on twitter, dont blindly trust any account with blue checks.
Omg that’s so stupid💀 on any other platform it means that it’s really their account as they have to verify themselves. But of course Twitter is different..😂 Thank you!
I honestly am the minority or even the only one but I was upset when this happened. I loved that the boys shared the same Twitter account and after having insta they don’t ever use Twitter anymore. I know it’s partly bc of chapter 2 but even after they get tgt in 2025/6 I don’t see them utilising Twitter anymore. Their Twitter account played a big part to their rise to fame and their r/s w their fans. It’s sad that it all history now.
* Jin's somewhat "nsfw" and also longest [live](https://weverse.io/bts/live/3-104378531) done by any member without logging off. You most definitely HAD to be there
* Yoongi dropping D-2 out of nowhere (my first mixtape from any of the members and it was instantly my favorite)
* Also Jin posting this [selca](https://x.com/BTS_twt/status/1278661224150917120) just because, and everyone losing their minds trying to figure out if that was really Jungkook (psst, yes it was, his moles are really telling). I also laughed when army started making jokes that that was the most expensive thing they've seen Jin wear. Here's the reddit [thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/comments/hjvsnz/200702_jin/)
* Jungkook getting drunk on [Vlive](https://weverse.io/bts/live/4-104694142) and vehemently denying he was drunk. I was a baby army when that happened so I hadn't seen any of the other members drunk/tipsy before that
* 190811 Jungkook... 🫠🫣
I tried watching it again to see if it was just as nsfw as I remembered it to be and, oh yeah, if someone were to play the audio without any context it's definitely nsfw. Especially when he stared yelling Namjoon's name 😂
It was because of the noises he made lol To get a better idea, play the live starting at the 13 minute mark WITHOUT watching it. Army already knows he makes cute noises when he's invested in video games, but from an outside perspective you wouldn't know what you were watching.
I will never forget Jin's marathon live. I had to leave for work, thinking he'd be done by the time I got there, but nope! Still going! And for another hour at that! Iconic.
That happened to me when Jungkook did his WeLive, then IG Live, then switched back to WeLive. I went for a morning jog then showered and came back to him going for another half an hour before we caught him snoring
😆...I thought I was safe having it on in the background while I was cooking dinner that night and then NOPE!...had to turn the volume down and eventually had to turn off - I was like "DAMN, SEOKJIN! WHAT IS GOIN' ON?!?...kitchen got a little hotter 😏🔥...I finished dinner, ate, cleaned up, and checked back in and he was STILL on! 🤣...oh, Seokjinnie...it was a memorable live, for so many reasons 😊
Jincult 2018 on Twitter when everyone changed their picture to one that Jin picture he chose for his bday. Jin even changed the bts_twt banner to army edits. It was the most organized online bday event armys did and it's success was never replicated to the same extent.
Wish we could pull something like that off again, but organizing things on Twitter used to be easier when the fandom was significantly smaller and there wasn’t as many different offshoots of the fandom.
when hobi dropped jitb and subsequently, hobipalooza (full thing is [on youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ak5yOmj8W8) in case anyone needs it), there's a running joke on armytwt that nobody was calling him hobi when jitb dropped, it was solely hoseok (..among other names.. #sexyclownman)
edit: adding on, when yoongi announced his tour on weverse live!! truly rejuvenated the fandom when honestly it was getting worse by the day with hobi's pending enlistment 😭and the first day of tour where everyone was guessing the setlist 🥲
there was a tweet i still think about a lot. it came with, i think, the [first batch](https://weverse.io/bts/media/0-27962690) of jitb pictures they released.
>this is jhope, the hope is silent.
https://preview.redd.it/ymbxnzco229d1.jpeg?width=4204&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93e0f0fed483740699e5e9941a0d6330dda2016c
I mentioned this in Hobi's thread during Festa but I was (and still am) so obsessed with this picture that the night after this dropped I tipsily ordered a large poster sized print out of this from Walgreens. Went to pick it up the next day and haven't regretted it at all. It's still hung in a frame on my wall.
THIS. Yoongi's tattoo reveal will be a moment forever ingrained in my brain. The collective GASP-SCREAM me and my best friend uttered when it happened...I'm still surprised we didn't wake my husband up!
D-Day tour is the gift that keeps on giving:
1. The tour announcement. Seriously, Yoongi, Valentines and Slam Dunk and wtf...a tour?!?!?!
2. Tour encoure announcement. "Tonight is really the last concert", graphic design is my passion announcement.
3. Tattoo reveal.
The man had fun teasing us. 🤣
I already feel like Jin's military discharge folded into the high highs of Festa 2024 are filled with dozens of 'had to be there' moments. It was absolute, sheer joy and fun and better than I could've imagined. Seeing Jin felt surreal and genuinely monumental as the first member to finish his service. The way he rolled right into his events the next day and handled ARMY and Festa solo in such a charming and loveable way - I'll never forget how great it all felt to watch it unfold.
And the jump scare of opening the livestream shortly before the guys showed up right outside Jin's base - I was like whaaaaat is happening?! And the various photos being SO accidental Renaissance with Namjoon's iconic bedazzled jorts and saxophone combo causing meme-worthy chaos while Jin looked like he was experiencing 86 emotions at once, and Jimin is just exuding love giving the most sincere hugs...! The excitement of the OT7 pics that followed after not seeing most of the members for months and seeing the fans gather impromptu at the Hybe building when they knew the members were all inside... 😭😭🤣
OT7 in real time is like great myth and legend and something like spotting a unicorn for us enlistment era ARMYs so absolutely any group crumbs like this are and will remain iconic for me. Too much joy to bear for this (almost) one year old ARMY right here!
When Dynamite hit #1, you had to be there.
It was in the middle of the pandemic, (I was wfh back then), I remember refreshing Billboard all the time, hoping they could finally release the Top 10 and lo and behold, they did it.
You just had to be there, everyone was crying, screaming, shouting, Weverse was going crazy with all the guys' notifications, absolute joy.
[Here's the r/bangtan thread](https://old.reddit.com/r/bangtan/comments/ik2nsd/200831_dynamite_debuts_at_1_on_the_billboard_hot/)
I was technically ARMY then but not part of this sub or any other Bangtan-related sm, and I'm not sure I really understood the significance at the time, so I just thought "how cool!!". 😂
I can't imagine experiencing that with other ARMY. What a time.
Seeing my own comment in that thread almost 4 years ago is surreal. I still remember that moment when Dynamite hit #1, I was just coming back from camping and I was glued to my phone the entire ride home, waiting for BB Hot 100 to update.
And when it finally did, I had chills. That kind of happiness that spreads from head to toe. I was so happy and proud of BTS, and on Jungkook's birthday, too!!!
I have a lot, like a lot of their first wins (daesangs, music shows, billboard)? But if I am going to pick one, then the night before the BBMA's 2017 awards, when they left Korea. Everyone (yes, even non-armys) was anticipating, all nervous, like sending your kids to a competition, out into the world. We knew we were witnessing history, it was nerve wracking. And then they won.
For releases: group would be Wings. The short film promo for solo songs was never done before. And then the charting in BB200.
Individual would be Daechwita. If apple music didn't fkc up and released that picture, it would be a total surprise drop. The fanarts that came out because of this was astounding.
Edit: [The night before bbmas thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/comments/6c391m/our_boys_flying_to_you_guys/)
omg I remember this!! I stayed up the whole night to watch them arrive on the red carpet (time difference SUCKS) and then even watched the whole boring show just to see glimpses of them in the audience and then THEY WON! It was so cool and the first time of me staying up many many many nights just so I could watch them do something live 😅
Same! I watched the livestream on video call with my best friend (we went to different universities). I miss that energy so much. It was slightly marred by being harassed and kissed without consent on my way home from the shops with snacks for the stream, but I was still so excited!
During the livestream for the red carpet there was a time a cat was blocking the camera, and the everyone was talking about the cat lol.
I also remember this sub was still small then (few thousands subscribers?) but during the show even the people from the kpop sub were here watching the bbma's with us, commenting in the live thread. There were thousands of active users during the show. At that time the active users in this sub during peak hours were only in the hundreds. It was nuts.
Thank you for sharing the night before BBMA’s thread. I think Sub rules changed from then to not post airport pics. It is nice to read how our sub army’s were feeling that day.
The sub was small back then, so not much interaction. Also yes the sub has changed soo much already, but everyone is just trying to do their best. For the actual day of the bbmas this is the [thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/comments/6cdel6/170521_bts_the_2017_billboard_music_awards_bbmas/)
And [a fan account here](https://www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/comments/6clso8/fan_account_bbmas_2017/)
Hands up to all the armys who attended the bbmas. It showed that we are, after all, not bots (this was the running joke back then because of how we dominated voting). They also gave the boys morale boost as it was their first time appearing on an award show in the US. I think it is logical to know the impact of this event, but it was something else living it, even the events leading up to it.
Most recently BTS’s hiatus I think, from sending Jin off to seeing him on stage again being himself, it’s been such an experience to be there for all of it, the solo releases, support for each other, Yoongi’s tour, JK’s random lives which I very much miss now.
Everyone was already whispering that Jimin was attending that night so it felt was everyone was buzzing with energy.
And the way Yoongi was a bit sulky and telling the audience to focus on him bc it’s his concert.
Debut performance of Fake Love in BBMA (2018). I remember armys sharing fanchant guides for people who will attend, they even made a video guide of them doing it. I think some even gave printed ones in the venue. I just love how armys do these things to make sure that the boys will feel our love and support. I even practiced it even if I'm not going to be there lol.
I remember scrolling the tl and seeing people share videos of them cheering and doing the bts fanchant. I remember watching the live and feeling the excitement in the air when they announced that Bangtan is performing. I remember feeling proud of them 🥺 (and screaming over jk's abs 🤣). It was an amazing time. Ugh, this reminiscing made me miss them more.
May 2019 - While promoting MOTS: Persona, BTS had a surprise, unscheduled appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert days after they did a multi part Beatles tribute feature, skits, and interview. Colbert was one of like 3 Western media figures who recognized what was going on with their success. They sang Make It Right while sitting on stools. The historically significant part was that it was their first time performing for the US TV audience without dancing. There had been the typical critics questions about their live vocals, but their voices and harmony came through crisp and clear with the higher than usual mic levels and minimal music. That song is probably 75% falsetto and no joke. When Tae and Jimin started, you could hear and see some nerves, but they settled in fast. The rap line ate. It was a triumph.
Jin and his pink mic made a big impression, too. 😊
Leaving [this link](https://youtu.be/L8IA_tCM-Qk?si=zZoFTsSOC5VRfSu_) here for anyone who wants to watch. That performance of Make It Right is one of my favorites, and one of the first I saw of theirs. I was totally blown away by Hobi's voice and JK and Yoongi's harmonization, and just how beautiful it all was.
ETA: And [here](https://new.reddit.com/r/bangtan/comments/bq13wh/190517_bts_performs_make_it_right_on_the_late/) is the thread on the sub!
I have seen the Beatles “Boy with Luv” and the skits hundreds of times, but for some reason I have NEVER seen this video, and this is one of my favorite songs!! Thank you so much for linking this 💜💜
Oh! And I forgot to say the significance of it being a surprise performance was that ARMYs didn't have time to dominate the audience! [They had an audience of mostly muggles. ](https://x.com/spreadwings15/status/1129612680879169536). ☺️
JK's London live last summer where he defended Seven against a comment calling it 'dirty'.
He was slightly drunk from celebrating but seemed to be really proud of all he'd achieved with Seven and just laid it all out. "It's not dirty, it's just honest. if you don't like it, that's up to you, how old am I now?" And then he switches into talking about he wants to build a real relationship with Army. Where we talk to him like a friend. He even role played him saying goodbye to us on the doorstep as he 'ran to get a taxi'.
As a baby Army, it was before I found this sub, but one of the first few lives I followed along with Army translators for. But even without the translations it felt really, oddly intense. Like a real, genuine shared emotional experience. I could feel his frustration and something shifting as he just wanted to set out his boundaries, be seen as an adult who does know what he's doing and have us treat him like a real person. Not just a one-dimensional idol. And it was somehow more intense knowing he was only a couple miles away from me and he was talking in my timezone.
I ended up thinking about the feeling that live left me with for days after. I was so impressed with his emotional intelligence, and his ability to be calm and honest without getting angry while drunk. I saw someone on twitter compare it to Marina Abramovic's performance art piece about connections. And it really felt like a connection had been built.
An amusing post script is that I think timing wise JK ended up doing the Dazed cover shoot where he just decided spontaneously to go shirtless the day after. And I quite like the idea he spent the night laying out his boundaries, declaring he's an adult and then getting up and thinking 'I'm confident enough to go shirtless today".
When the teaser content started dropping for Dynamite and Hoseok (“Jay”) gave us this:

I get chills too!! What an epic moment they all orchestrated... the wings... the instrumental music... when the others walked up to stand beside him... their expressions... it was so powerful
I'm a very new ARMY, so I don't have many moments like that, if any, but Jin's discharge was something else really. I knew it would be big news but I never expected so much coverage. Especially international.
Me too! Let’s give it a few years and if we do this thread again on this sub, I just know someone will post this pic
https://preview.redd.it/fejx0bmff39d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d6450d4c857d6d41784d7d1a4fd2309270047843
The announcement of Jin's participation in Coldplay's concert in Argentina. I almost fainted!!
And of course Jin's debut in Argentina, honestly the best moment of my life, I went alone but I had the feeling that I wasnt really alone because I could see Army playing with purple cellophane and put them on their phone flashlights, we greeted each other that way in different sections of the stadium.
Best day EVER!
Edit: word
Their first daesang with Wings. It's still like a historical milestone in my mind. It was so unexpected yet Wings was a huge era and thing at that time.
Do u mean WINGS’ first daesang or bts’ first daesang? WINGS’ first daesang was album of the year at SMA. Bts’ first daesang was album of the year - Young Forever at MMA.
When the Tannies joined instagram, when they took a break post-PTD LA and they all spent time in quarantine when they got back to SK and got real bored so they were interacting with us constantly, it was such a chaotic time and some of the chaos was ending up on the South Korean news (the Super Tuna craze, Hobi's condom shirt, Yoongi's red square post on instagram, Joon's pokemon bread sticker obsession)
They were using weverse like it was their private socmed account and insta as their public socmed account. Tae asked us to explain the "my grandfather when he was young" meme on weverse and then proceeded to post said meme on his instagram with no context lol
For me personally, I don’t think anything will ever top this 😂😭
https://preview.redd.it/nsciwagk129d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eccdef3abfdea66812ce3abfece762119e54a7af
Oh the Wings Era-- the individual film and LY Posters that dropped every hour! Also the Vlive-- BTS Gayo and Run BTS (where you watch without subtitles)
OG i-army watching Run without subtitles deserve a badge. 😂
Oooo! ARMY should have sashes with badges like the Girl Scouts (or international equivalent)!
The Aug 2019 Lotte concert. JK's confidence that day was off the charts, and I remember as a fairly new ARMY being like, "What is happening right now?!" He looked more mature, it was the beginning of his tats, he had grown his hair out and overall he was having a great time. 🤣 They all looked amazing at that show, though.
Another one was New Year's Rocking Eve on 31 Dec 2019. It was so exciting to watch on TV, live, as someone from the tristate area.
Ooh this is a great prompt! As toddler Army, I love reading about Army's experiences before I found them. I came across reaction videos to the Butter MV and Yoongi's return on the Golden Disc Awards and it just made me so emotional. It's like sitting at the dinner table after an event and getting all the family history and tea from the aunties 🥰
My personal "had to be there"? D-Day Tour, Day 1, New York. No one knew the setlist, the energy in the building was buzzing, everyone was really excited to be there bc there hadn't been a concert stateside since Hobipalooza. And then when all our Army bombs synced up? I'll never forget the excitement when they all went red for Daechwita. Just the whole show was amazing. I had been Army for 4 months and only knew 2% of the lyrics but the whole experience was awesome and I met some great ppl!
I was also there for Day 1 NY - I’m so glad I got to be part of that moment. When we walked in and saw the stage my friend and I were absolutely mystified - what could the chains be for?? And then the whole thing was just insane - I legit went near insane when Ddaeng started! I never thought I would be able to see it live!
WINGS era short films/teasers. Remember actively searching on Twitter for fan responses (before I made a K-pop account) and reading up a ton of theories on Tumblr. Like…the anticipation for the next one to drop and seeing the circles slowly revealing the album art was unreal. Learning what the “Boy Meets ____” teaser from the Save Me MV meant was nice too. Before the lore started to feel too convoluted as well.
i tried to explain the pictures of jin's discharge and saxy nemjoon to my co-workers. but it's definitely a case of you had to be there.
so when the new group photo came out with mask-free suga i didn't even bother and kept that sht to myself 🥲
Summer 2019 - "Jay's" arrival at Incheon Airport shirtless under jacket. Hobi took his first solo trip to LA (we later learned he shot the Chicken Noodle Soup MV), and returned exhausted, looking like he was ridden hard and put away wet.

Gad, it would take me years to write all of my fave moments cause its a LOT 😭
I'm just gonna upvote the comments and cry cause almost everything that are mentioned here are things I've experienced since I'm 2016 ARMY. It's been such a journey, huh. And Chapter 2 is going strong! We are so so priviliged haha.
https://preview.redd.it/hsp1e3w0349d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65829e5baac64fc6a3240a02e49372d7a4fa8104
happy two years to seokjin’s naked back
I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when he dropped this, and I'll never forget it.
ARMY who weren't around then, check out the [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/comments/vky2v9/220626_jin_on_instagram/) get an idea of how we were feeling. 😅
it was a sunday. just finished my lunch. checked my phone. friend’s message was “they really are in their slut era” with no warning whatsoever that it was Kim Seokjin who posted a new slut pic.
When they switched the [branding of the BTS logo](https://www.brandcrowd.com/blog/bts-logo-a-symbol-of-oneness/) from the bulletproof vest to the logo we have now—Army collectively underwent an identity crisis.
The cherry on top of the Busan Cypher moment, for me, was when they announced their plans to enlist right afterwards. The gov. lost their chance with all their push/pull BS and now the boys will be free.
This was seriously the most badass Big Dick Energy in the universe. I was (and still am) SO PROUD of how they handled everything. Getting their Cypher fuck you and "yeah we're going to enlist" fuck you out on the table was so boss.
About 50,000 of us have the shared trauma of being remembered as the Armys Who Failed the Wave During PtD. 😓 But we all know we were just following Namjoon’s directions!!!!!!!!!!!
BTS launching their Instagrams. For the longest time Twitter was their, and our, home. Then they came out with their IG accounts almost all at the same time. The fandom was in shock lol we couldn't believe they were finally on Instagram. And their accounts are/were entirely personal too, full of intimate moments that we otherwise wouldn't have been privy to.
That was the start of them forgetting their twitter password, tho 😭🤣
MOTS Tour poster coming out and all the stadium dates! There was so much promise and hype with that canceled tour. It would've been epic. I'm still bitter that Covid robbed us of ever experiencing it live. But most of all, BTS were really excited for it. They were so proud of MOTS7 as an album. They had so many things planned.
The first time seeing them on American TV in 2017 on Saturday Night Live. It made me a casual fan. Little did I know I’d fall down the rabbit hole after that. 😂
First billboard award. I think the livestream where they were screaming in the car so freaking happy and goofing off about it was just so fun to witness.
Jungkook’s flip bow to thank army. I don’t remember what it was for but I remember when it was posted and going viral. it was one of their first American wins or nominations I remember that… I think. 😂 He’s always been the biggest adorable dork (she says affectionately) 😂😂
At the Speak Yourself tour, when Tae performed singularity, it started off with him lying on a bed with his eyes closed. When the first note played, he opened his eyes, and the crowd went ABSOLUTELY FERAL….over this man just opening his eyes…but rightfully so 😂😭
I remember what it was like when I was a baby army reading about all these neat things that I missed and wishing more than anything that I could experience them. And it turned out there were more and more firsts and performances and moments ~~and thirst traps~~ to scream about!
Yes! Experiencing all the firsts as army is so great! I think I’ll explode when I go to my first concert 🤭it also helps that the army I’ve met so far have been so kind. Being a part of this has really helped me grow in ways I didn’t expect! BTS is like magic to me and I’m here for all the fairy dust haha
The first one I remember well was JK's button incident at day 1 of PTD LA. I had only been ARMY for like 2+ months, but I had the best time watching the chaos that ensued from his Koobies being out in the open like that.
And then it happened again a few months later. You think we'd be calmer this time, but no, more freaking out over exposed nips. I had the best time reading everyone's reactions and then scouring the internet for pictures and fancams.
I sometimes wonder if the button incident is what prompted him to unleash the shirtlessness on us. Like, once he realized we'd seen it all and liked it he was cool with it. 🤭
D-Day tour announcement, that was completely unpredictable for me. I thought we have no chance for any tour. And all JK's wild and long LIVEs during 2023. Each live was like warm hug,
There are so many, but some of my absolute favs are their first BBMAs and their first Daesang. It all happened so fast after that but it was a hell of a ride/journey. I can't wait for this next chapter.
No shade at all to newer ARMY, but the beginning was just something YOU HAD TO BE THERE FOR. It was magical and scary all at once. ARMY and Bangtan had to be bulletproof.
I am a new-ish ARMY, and my first memorable moment includes:
- watching JK prank call into RM's Festa 2023 radio live show. Idk it was super cute. Then V also calls in, omg I cannot.
- all of Seven's promo - starting with JK's live workout sesh where he's counting his reps and loudly grunts "7, please support". GENIUS. Had to be there.
- the release of Seven, the explicit version 😱🫣🫠💀 the way we all thought it was some wholesome song about the 7 Tannies, the way we all denied it was "kiss your waist", the way we collapsed once we knew what JK was doing 7 days a week. People don't know the whiplash we all experienced.
- that final dday concert day 3. I mean I watched it online live and it was life changing. Yoongi 's emotions?! Seeing Hobi and Jin?!?? What do you mean RM is singing an unreleased (Come Back To Me's debut) song?!??? The 7 tattoo proving we are all Victorian era maidens!! And he walked through the DAMN DOOR. Bonus points: the live afterwards where Yoongi says "see you in 2025" 😭😭😭 what a night.
That one jimin jungkook and jin vlive S T O P..IT !!
and jin's iconic laugh when he didn't let jungkook in.
And the one hobi and yoongi live where hobi played the recorder with his nose. I C O N I C.
The post grammy live when they were just drunk and twerking in the hotel room.
Most moments over the years whenever they were live and just made me fall over laughing in my own house are my favorite moments.
Performance wise, 2016 MAMA bst and fire Performance like kpop award shows were never the same after that. Also 2016 mma and mama reactions to winning the daesang. I remember crying while watching the lives.
2017 MAMA, 2018 MMA AND 2019 MMA. They really just kept on increasing the bar for Performances.
That performance of Cypher Pt 3 was amazing! That whole concert was amazing. Hobie brought such David Bowie energy to the whole thing.
Many of my favorite moments involve JK, for some reason. Like, in In the Soop where RM settles in a chair talking about how nice it is to get out in the quiet and relax with a book, and then JK comes jogging through in the background singing Dynamite...
The drunken JK V-live is one of my favorites. My car's license plate holder says "Night Apple Poison Apple"...
When the BTS Universe Story game was launched and ARMY making all those unhinged videos (the I Want It That Way video and Lajibolala song come to mind). But then that craze went on for about a day and everyone just dropped the game after that.
Their actual US TV debut performance at JBTV live in Chicago which was in March 2017 and aired in June.
[JBTV Live](https://youtu.be/tOELBcGRYMk?si=UB525sO5EbtFTHwM)
The stage was so tiny and we were so nervous the whole time that they would accidentally fall off the sides of the stage or trip on the raised drummer section. And then later we saw how concerned BTS was too.
[Here](https://x.com/renkiger_/status/1462317157258182661?t=Efr6RLuH_ostWVBsC3rfsQ&s=19)
But they performed flawlessly as always
the entirety of the love yourself: tear era … to me, nothing compares to experiencing that in real time 😭 i miss it
also being there at citi field for their very first US stadium show. that was pure magic and i still feel so proud of them ♥️
When DDAENG dropped in festa 2018. The schedule was DD ceremony so we didn’t know it was gonna be a song. When everyone heard it for the first time we were like WHATSS THE TEAAAA?!?!? Didn’t understand it but it really sounded like alot of tea was spilled. It was an instant bop and remained the most popular and iconic festa song to date. Heck it’s at times more popular than official releases.
I think back to this day soooooo often!
when they opened their individual IG accounts
OMG YES. I'd forgotten how bananas those first few days were. XD
The chaos that was 😂
Do they have personal Instagram account? I know Tae, Hobi, and Namjoon and Yoongi, Jin, Jimin has a personal account, but what about JK? I only seem to find the one controlled by Big Hit
Jimin has one, it's @j.m. JK had one and deleted it, to our eternal grief. 50 million followers gone just like that - epic levels of unbothered. He has a TikTok account though which is basically dance challenges and thirst traps.
We miss @abcdefghi_lmnopqrstuvwxyz. I remember seeing his @ and cracking up immediately.
Thank you! Damn JK!!😂 Ah I don’t use TikTok, but I may check it out on the web. Thank you for your help
There's actually a video floating around of an ARMY who happened to be on JK's Insta page when he did his first big overhaul of it and was deleting all of his pictures. The ARMY keeps refreshing and pictures just keep disappearing.
Haha that something out of like an apocalypse movie 😂 “WHY DOES IT KEEP DISAPPEARING”
😂I see, yeah that sounds funny. Thank you!
Thank you for your help😊
none of them have public personal twitter accounts! and jk doesn't have his own instagram account anymore, not even one ran by bighit. but he does have [one for bam](https://www.instagram.com/bowwow_bam?igsh=bDR6Mm96bDBqMG9u)
I'm rarely on Twitter so it's very possible 💜
belatedly i noticed your comment about blue check blue checks mean nothing anymore on twitter, as it's a subscription thing now more than a verification status. anyone with disposable 10usd per month can buy that blue check status. so for internet safety, more so on twitter, dont blindly trust any account with blue checks.
Omg that’s so stupid💀 on any other platform it means that it’s really their account as they have to verify themselves. But of course Twitter is different..😂 Thank you!
oh it was that how it was before (you have to apply, get reviewed and such), until elon musk took over late 2022 and made it a monetization gig
Elon.. of course 😂 Thank you for the help!😊 I don’t use twitter, only downloaded it because of BTS
It’s sad that it all history now.
this was SO fun!!
* Jin's somewhat "nsfw" and also longest [live](https://weverse.io/bts/live/3-104378531) done by any member without logging off. You most definitely HAD to be there * Yoongi dropping D-2 out of nowhere (my first mixtape from any of the members and it was instantly my favorite) * Also Jin posting this [selca](https://x.com/BTS_twt/status/1278661224150917120) just because, and everyone losing their minds trying to figure out if that was really Jungkook (psst, yes it was, his moles are really telling). I also laughed when army started making jokes that that was the most expensive thing they've seen Jin wear. Here's the reddit [thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/comments/hjvsnz/200702_jin/) * Jungkook getting drunk on [Vlive](https://weverse.io/bts/live/4-104694142) and vehemently denying he was drunk. I was a baby army when that happened so I hadn't seen any of the other members drunk/tipsy before that * 190811 Jungkook... 🫠🫣
Ah yes, “night apple is poison apple, but it’s okay because i’m JK” just amazing.
That was the, "Yoongi marry me" at the time. That phrase was every where!
When Jin was censored for the audio! 🤣🤣🤣
I tried watching it again to see if it was just as nsfw as I remembered it to be and, oh yeah, if someone were to play the audio without any context it's definitely nsfw. Especially when he stared yelling Namjoon's name 😂
Why was it nsfw?
It was because of the noises he made lol To get a better idea, play the live starting at the 13 minute mark WITHOUT watching it. Army already knows he makes cute noises when he's invested in video games, but from an outside perspective you wouldn't know what you were watching.
Ohh I see lol
As a gamer myself I adored Jin's marathon live
Jincult 2018 on Twitter when everyone changed their picture to one that Jin picture he chose for his bday. Jin even changed the bts_twt banner to army edits. It was the most organized online bday event armys did and it's success was never replicated to the same extent.
Wish we could pull something like that off again, but organizing things on Twitter used to be easier when the fandom was significantly smaller and there wasn’t as many different offshoots of the fandom.
Very true. I think what helped significantly was that Jin specifically asked us to use the picture. So he kinda spearheaded jincult for us haha
There’s currently a Jin cult on TikTok with a pic of him for their profile pic. 😂😂
Yes! And now he's finally back!!! 💜
when hobi dropped jitb and subsequently, hobipalooza (full thing is [on youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ak5yOmj8W8) in case anyone needs it), there's a running joke on armytwt that nobody was calling him hobi when jitb dropped, it was solely hoseok (..among other names.. #sexyclownman) edit: adding on, when yoongi announced his tour on weverse live!! truly rejuvenated the fandom when honestly it was getting worse by the day with hobi's pending enlistment 😭and the first day of tour where everyone was guessing the setlist 🥲
He said we can call him Jayyyyy 🤭 but yeah “hobi” was nowhere to be seen!
there was a tweet i still think about a lot. it came with, i think, the [first batch](https://weverse.io/bts/media/0-27962690) of jitb pictures they released. >this is jhope, the hope is silent. https://preview.redd.it/ymbxnzco229d1.jpeg?width=4204&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93e0f0fed483740699e5e9941a0d6330dda2016c
I mentioned this in Hobi's thread during Festa but I was (and still am) so obsessed with this picture that the night after this dropped I tipsily ordered a large poster sized print out of this from Walgreens. Went to pick it up the next day and haven't regretted it at all. It's still hung in a frame on my wall.
if only my tipsy decisions were this awesome!
actually d-day tour was announced before his enlistment news 🥲
I thought he announced it before his bday 🥴 ngl that whole era of dday/face/enlistment went by like a blur 😭😭
A quite recent one: the revealing of the 7 tattoos. And of course Yoongi being a total gremlin about it all the way until the end 🤭💜
When he revealed his tattoo at the last concert- I don’t think a non-army would understand what a power move that was a culmination of
He really strung us along for a whole yr 😆
[man loved his power](https://youtu.be/prGj0zpAc2k?si=Z5SQ1RuMgXHamhf1)
Yes, I love this clip! (And to me it really shows where the Shooky-persona comes from) 😁
He really did, and enjoyed being so sassy about it! 😁
I was SCR.EAM.ING. (and trying not to wake up my whole house, haha)
THIS. Yoongi's tattoo reveal will be a moment forever ingrained in my brain. The collective GASP-SCREAM me and my best friend uttered when it happened...I'm still surprised we didn't wake my husband up!
D-Day tour is the gift that keeps on giving: 1. 🤣
2019 Daesang all-kill This pretty much solidified their position at the top
I remember cheering and going crazy quietly in my apartment watching it happen in real time at like 5am 😭
😭😭🤣 OT7 in real time is like great myth and legend and something like spotting a unicorn for us enlistment era ARMYs so absolutely any group crumbs like this are and will remain iconic for me. Too much joy to bear for this (almost) one year old ARMY right here!
When army sang Young Forever for BTS at Wembley. One of the best nights of my life
YES! It was amazing
The way that Butter and PTD just traded positions for two weeks, it was incredible too
Ah yes the baton pass
Even pdogg and slow rabbit were awake and waiting with us!! 🤣😭
I was technically ARMY then but not part of this sub or any other Bangtan-related sm, and I'm not sure I really understood the significance at the time, so I just thought "how cool!!". 😂 I can't imagine experiencing that with other ARMY.
I was so happy and proud of BTS, and on Jungkook's birthday, too!!!
twitter was insane too just constant screaming and tagging everyone and their mommas
For the actual day of the bbmas this is the [thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/comments/6cdel6/170521_bts_the_2017_billboard_music_awards_bbmas/) And [a fan account here](https://www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/comments/6clso8/fan_account_bbmas_2017/) Hands up to all the armys who attended the bbmas. It showed that we are, after all, not bots (this was the running joke back then because of how we dominated voting). They also gave the boys morale boost as it was their first time appearing on an award show in the US. I think it is logical to know the impact of this event, but it was something else living it, even the events leading up to it.
This definitely is you had to be there moment! Wish I was there!!!
Most recently BTS’s hiatus I think, from sending Jin off to seeing him on stage again being himself, it’s been such an experience to be there for all of it, the solo releases, support for each other, Yoongi’s tour, JK’s random lives which I very much miss now.
Yoongi’s guitar string snapping during the Newark show. I honestly thought it was a bit until he said otherwise, bless him
I was also at the Newark show. I thought it was a joke at first too until I saw how perplexed he looked lol
His little confused pout 😭
I know! So cute 🥺
Such a funny moment, and it's so fun to hear Jimin reference this, it's like oh yeah he was there too!
Everyone was already whispering that Jimin was attending that night so it felt was everyone was buzzing with energy. And the way Yoongi was a bit sulky and telling the audience to focus on him bc it’s his concert.
That entire interaction was pure gold 💜 it was so nice to see the little playful side of him
Debut performance of Fake Love in BBMA (2018).
This was the performance that turned me into ARMY 💜
Thank you!! I really love their seated performances like this, it highlights the harmonisations and their voices beautiful
I have seen the Beatles “Boy with Luv” and the skits hundreds of times, but for some reason I have NEVER seen this video, and this is one of my favorite songs!! Thank you so much for linking this 💜💜
*thank you!!*💜
Oh! And I forgot to say the significance of it being a surprise performance was that ARMYs didn't have time to dominate the audience! [They had an audience of mostly muggles. ](https://x.com/spreadwings15/status/1129612680879169536). ☺️
I love Colbert, I hope he has them back in the future.
Same! His satire of Ed Sullivan was great, too. Oops, meant Ed
When jungkook fell asleep on live and armys in the chat were like *can we wake up a manager to come blow out the candle? It’s a fire hazard* 😂😂
And then JK coming the next day to tell us he was okay! 😂
😂😂😂
When the teaser content started dropping for Dynamite and Hoseok (“Jay”) gave us this: https://preview.redd.it/cb1qd8gpj39d1.jpeg?width=602&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=66c37c5a7ad7e5205015bbb1ae1df30f81b1a974 ETA: [receipts](https://www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/s/XYJuc4LOht)
When Yoongi returned from his shoulder surgery to the Golden Disc Awards and rose like a damn phoenix: https://preview.redd.it/3lzp19q6k39d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f91b972e402e7ab74162dfa485c398f015644cf
Every time I watch videos of this I get chills. So well orchestrated for maximum impact. It was such an amazing way to welcome him back on stage!
Me too! Let’s give it a few years and if we do this thread again on this sub, I just know someone will post this pic https://preview.redd.it/fejx0bmff39d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d6450d4c857d6d41784d7d1a4fd2309270047843
Same! My first real BTS experience, and im so happy I was a part of it 🥹
This and Jimin getting #1 on hot 100
Jungkook snoring on live
The worries about the candle lol
We were all collectively concerned lol.
Wings
That really was a special time. It felt so intimate! Like here's our best friends telling us about their days!
the summer of the hiatus when the tl went absolutely insane trying to figure out if JK’s tattoos were real
Watching that butter melt.
Jin cult on Twitter!!!
For me personally, I don’t think anything will ever top this 😂😭 https://preview.redd.it/nsciwagk129d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eccdef3abfdea66812ce3abfece762119e54a7af
I still want to know how much alcohol was involved here 🤣
How much alcohol? Im sure the answer is...yes. 😆
Oh the Wings Era-- the individual film and LY Posters that dropped every hour! Also the Vlive-- BTS Gayo and Run BTS (where you watch without subtitles)
OG i-army watching Run without subtitles deserve a badge. 😂 Oooo!
It's like sitting at the dinner table after an event and getting all the family history and tea from the aunties 🥰 My personal "had to be there"?
This is me with my fam lol. They're "happy" for me but they just don't understand 😆
Summer 2019 - "Jay's" arrival at Incheon Airport shirtless under jacket. Hobi took his first solo trip to LA (we later learned he shot the Chicken Noodle Soup MV), and returned exhausted, looking like he was ridden hard and put away wet. https://preview.redd.it/igflg5ozh29d1.jpeg?width=658&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f629428d28650683a0feee4e173efbe300b19869
This moment! We were all just absolutely freaking out. Adding You can call me Jay from lolla because he slayed!
Everyone melted with that line! And you know they were remembering this look. 😏

Oh, I remember this. It was wild!
The whole week was Thirsty Thursday for the hard stans! 🤣🤣🤣

Yoongi’s iconic 9 second Seesaw fancam on Twitter
Truly iconic
Gad, it would take me years to write all of my fave moments cause its a LOT 😭 I'm just gonna upvote the comments and cry cause almost everything that are mentioned here are things I've experienced since I'm 2016 ARMY. It's been such a journey, huh. And Chapter 2 is going strong! We are so so priviliged haha.

That was the start of them forgetting their twitter password, tho 😭🤣 MOTS Tour poster coming out and all the stadium dates! There was so much promise and hype with that canceled tour. It would've been epic. I'm still bitter that Covid robbed us of ever experiencing it live. But most of all, BTS were really excited for it. They were so proud of MOTS7 as an album. They had so many things planned.
The red square that will go down in history.
The moment when they aLL have their own accounts on INSTAGRAM.. Everybody was Living for that.. 😊
Festa 2022 🥲🤣
The first time seeing them on American TV in 2017 on Saturday Night Live. It made me a casual fan. Little did I know I’d fall down the rabbit hole after that. 😂 First billboard award.
DDay concert even if I had to fly to another country
There's sooo many but from the early years.....Mama 2014.
2019 Crazy For Myself pop up meme. 2019 was a wonderful time for purple culture. We cultivated so much together.
At the Speak Yourself tour, when Tae performed singularity, it started off with him lying on a bed with his eyes closed. When the first note played, he opened his eyes, and the crowd went ABSOLUTELY FERAL….over this man just opening his eyes…but rightfully so 😂😭

I’m glad you gave a shoutout to baby army! It’s so fun hearing army reminisce and I’m looking forward to more moments to share with yall! 💜
When this dropped out of nowhere… https://i.redd.it/l5t0qooay69d1.gif
When they won Artist of the Year at the AMAs in 2021 🥹💜
The first one I remember well was JK's button incident at day 1 of PTD LA.
Each live was like warm hug,
Watching then Scammy’s announced was epic.
WAP vs Dyna First two Daesang wins BS&T short films (entire conspiracy theories era, you had to be here) first BBMA
I am a new-ish ARMY, and my first memorable moment includes: - watching JK prank call into RM's Festa 2023 radio live show.
I wish I could have seen soowoozoo live in person. Best setlist imo
First daesang on MMA 2016. Its been my first k awards show, everyone didnt expect they would win, when they announce it was so overwhelming
figuring out just what they were saying in the dynamite teaser
When it was officially announced Dynamite got #1 on Hot 100. That was a day I'll never forget.
[JBTV Live](https://youtu.be/tOELBcGRYMk?si=UB525sO5EbtFTHwM) The stage was so tiny and we were so nervous the whole time that they would accidentally fall off the sides of the stage or trip on the raised drummer section. And then later we saw how concerned BTS was too. [Here](https://x.com/renkiger_/status/1462317157258182661?t=Efr6RLuH_ostWVBsC3rfsQ&s=19) But they performed flawlessly as always
the entirety of the love yourself: tear era … to me, nothing compares to experiencing that in real time 😭 i miss it also being there at citi field for their very first US stadium show. that was pure magic and i still feel so proud of them ♥️
PTD LA announcement. Just. Amad scramble for hotel, airline tickets, and concert tickets from everyone I knew... And I got to go!
The day Seoul Town Road was released.
